From Thursday to Sunday, we immersed ourselves in the electrifying atmosphere of the Geico 500. Our adventure began with tailgating on Talladega BLVD, where we experienced the true essence of race day camaraderie. The energy was palpable as fans from all walks of life gathered together to celebrate their shared love for racing.
As the weekend unfolded, we had the privilege of witnessing the heart-pounding races from the pit stops. Being in the midst of all the action was an adrenaline rush like no other. We cheered, we gasped, and we marveled at the skill and precision of the drivers as they maneuvered their cars with lightning speed.
But our experience didn't end there. In a truly special collaboration, we completed our second barrel pick of a bourbon and rye with Clyde May's right at the race track. It was a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into creating exceptional spirits. We can't wait to share our tasting notes and impressions with you!

I was just there on April 21st and 22nd, in the infield with crew and pit pass. The arrow @11:24 was where we were at. My brother is friends with one of the drivers so we got to hang out in the garage and at the wall during the race. Super awesome experience, I need to upload my videos actually! Went to ABC Liquor while we were in Birmingham to grab up Coopers Craft BIB and OGD 114 which I cannot find in SoCal. I agree, those trees were in the way the, and blocked our view of the race on the screen from pit road, I kept having to walk past them to get a good view

I love me some Eddie - he seems like a genuinely good guy who is full of Joy. Clyde May's was one of my first favorite American whiskey's when I was expanding from scotch. The Alabama style got my attention and now I've had pretty much everything Clyde May's has to offer - I look forward to their whiskey's bourbon as they continue to grow. NASCAR is my least favorite form of racing. But, it's always been a dream for me to go to Talladega since I was about 6. My grandfather loves NASCAR, I prefer Le Mans and Nurburgring (endurance racing to say the least). Races with right turns as well. It's like baseball and football, I hate watching it on TV, but I'd love to go to a game.

Love Eddie and have really liked Clyde Mays. It is something that is typically stocked at my house. To answer the question about the fuel situation on the #20 car during the pit stop. The ARCA Menards series has a rule where you can’t change tires and fuel simultaneously. This is usually used as a cost saving measure as ARCA has much less funding and they can have one less guy on the pit crew. The top teams still typically have a dedicated fuel guy like the #20 though. Once you get to the higher series they allow them to fuel and change tires simultaneously and can do so in around 10-13 seconds for the better crews depending on the series.

In the ARCA series Teams are allowed to change tires and add fuel to their cars during pit stops, but for safety purposes, not simultaneously.

I am in Houston for 20 years now but grew up in Pell City and have been to many T short track races and snuck into the 500 infield about 10 times growing up. I was in stands in 1985 to see Bill Elliot come from 2 laps down to win (best race I ever saw) and in 1987 when Bobby Allison went air-born. Daytona gets the attention but nothing is exciting as Talledega. BTW I love Clyde Mays bourbon neat. I get a honey graham cracker flavor.

Haha, throwback, it was 1998 that we went to 'dega!!! The track was celebrating its 30th anniversary and all tickets were 30 bucks, we had tower seats in the Anniston tower, saw some qualifying for the 500, watched the return of IROC, and watched the Busch race!!! Great day at the races for 30 bucks!!! Good times!!!

This clyde may's single barrel I have is the first bourbon I've had that I really love. Such a good mouthfeel and great flavor. Would love to try the brewzle pick with Eddie and hear about some distillery shenanigans. Sounds like a great place to work based on how much fun they're all having.
