I am always of the opinion that seeing the upgraded version of the meme or dream decks for the second half of the video is ideal

Remake this deck with removal and dual lands for against the odds. :)

To me, it looks like someone saved their Brothers' War draft deck that they had fun with and just added some cards they had to play it in standard.

That Hall of Tagsin thing is so relatable. Can I open useful dual lands? Nope, all my rare wildcards go to those. Can I open a full playset of Hall of Tagsin? You bet I can

I was the white green auras deck, I didn't have Calix in the deck before this game cause I didn't know it existed but added it right after, the deck is much stronger now hahaha

okay. i really liked the little middle bit, of slightly editing the deck, keeping the memery in, yet adding more propper support. But, the OG deck looks like something you make as a 60 card newbie, after discovering a combo in EDH/Brawl, and building a 60 card deck around. Great video Seth.

Nexus Ulamog has been turn 4 railing me in historic for a while now.

I always love it when these decks do their thing.

That first game really showed off how this deck got places - Simulacrum Synthesizer is a really strong card, the combo itself is pretty strong if you can pull it off, and powerstones are actually pretty decent ramp if you're mostly running artifacts (shame that most of the powerstone-generating cards are so mediocre). I'm just surprised that our friend didn't just stick to mono-blue...

On the red leyline: what blows my mind is that wizards won't print fetch lands in standard because "it leads to a too fast meta that we don't like" And then print cards like this that enable turn 2 wins. Like what? Is that not immediate sirens on "too fast"?

Nexus, if it sticks to trigger once, is a pretty solid card. Replaces itself with the card draw, and go mana-positive by putting in a 7 drop or better. It's just risky if it gets countered or destroyed before you get to trigger it once, making it a very "Boom or Bust" card

This feels a lot like God Pharoah’s Gift decks back in Hour of Devastation standard! Loved playing those decks!

Seth seems to believe the “did you have fun” question is a vote on whether or not his opponents deck is acceptable or needs banning

Probably got some of the idea from Jom Davis, he did a lot of Nexus decks post Thunder Junction

I love this type of video. Start with a decklist, test it out to figure out the point of it, and then tweak it to make it better.

my theory with the "did you have fun" is that it affect the hidden value of cards and that's why zenith flare would be worth that much point.

A lot of the powerstone cards, including Hall of Tagsin, were buffed in Alchemy. This might have been someone trying to run the deck in 3 year standard after it rotated out of Alchemy.

I’m still learning about the special slots from OJT sad they are all mythics lol some real cool cards to build around in there. At first thought the deck goes 6-0 because the opposition has as little idea of what you’re doing as possible lol. Hall of Tagsin was one of those rares that arena gave me 4x of 😢

I wanna see a full upgrade of this deck hopefully keeping some powerstone synergies they seem pretty helpful

I honestly think that when you play only basics the hand smoothing algorithm works better in Bo1. That's almost certifiably not true, but you can't stop me from thinking it.

I actually like when we see upgraded versions of the deck that try and follow the game plan just more efficient

I hate how ambiguous the emotes are. I used to open with good game like "Good luck!" then I found out over time people think its someone being cocky or rude :(.

As someone who loves colorless decks, i feel like in addition to powerstones you want to have artifact discounts like foundry inspector to get your nexus out early.

I love the positivity of having 5 land cards in hand against mono red and saying "At least we have all of our mana colors, that's a win"

Not sure if you forgot or don't know but if you click the number next to the tokens you can have them all block at once instead of clicking each one like you did against that big Dread Knight.

Before watching the video, based on the cards. This is more a Powerstone ramp deck. Trying to play the big brother's wars artifacts. And synthetizer as secondary win condition

I had pack opened 3x nexus built a deck with it a few weeks ago and have been considering going for the 4th copy but it works pretty good with the 3 copies i'm running

Threefold thunder hulk went into any cmdr deck i had a copy of. it's very fun.

I think it's just random, and as often as I get terrible draws on Arena, I'm unwilling to give them more information on how to screw me over. Also, I'd have put the Mycosynth Gardens in this deck.

Personally I much prefer the meme or dream videos where Seth does a "let's rebuild this deck but good" for the second half

I think stasis coffin definitely has no place here. And you can replaced 4-drop making powerstone with a thran spider

I'd love to see an against the odds or a meme or dream about this 3 card combo in standard. Enduring Tenacity, sheoldred the apocalypse, and Marina Vendrell's grimoire. If you have down the Tenacity and sheoldred then play the grimoire you'll start a loop of drawing cards gaining life and dealing damage till your opponent dies

At 8:06 why did he discard the stasis coffin. It's literally coulve saved you all the life and got you to the turn you can cast the nexus.

I think a series where you take janky looking decks like this and fix em up a little would be rather interesting, heck, you could probably fix up viewer submitted decks and explain why theyre not working to teach people some things about deck building

Oh my god... Don't get me wrong Seth, I love Nexus and tried a few decks with it. But why is this person using nexus on threefold gnomething instead of Portals to Phyrexia, or CityScape Levellers?

I don't understand how all these meme or dream decks keep having 9 card sideboards. I thought that the official rules stated that if you had a sideboard at all, it had to have EXACTLY 15 cards? EDIT: For anyone who sees this comment, I looked it up and apparently, that rule was changed back in the 2014 rules update. It USED to be "if you have a sideboard, it must contain exactly 15 cards. No more, no less. When you swap cards from your sideboard in between games, your main deck must have the same number of cards it started with (that is, all cards must be swapped 1-for-1)." As of the 2014 update, it changed to "a sideboard may have UP TO 15 cards, and your final deck may include any number of sideboard cards added in without swapping them for a card in the main deck." Although, it's still recommended to swap your sideboard cards 1-for-1, as simply adding them in without removing other cards reduces your decks consistency.

If people mashing the frownie face after matches actually resulted in cards gettting banned, sheoldred would've been banned a year ago. Hexproof would be phased out of the game the same way land walk did. WotC knows whats unfun, they just don't care.

i think the deck is a okay´ish bo1 deck maybe go even lower with the counter and more removal 8maybe removal that gives life) and it should be golden. in bo3 the artifact only plan will more often then not kill the deck.

Decks honestly trash right after otj jim davis made a make your own luck deck trying too cast nexus of becoming best target is the threefold thunderhulk but the besuty is pack the deck with ramp cast make your own luck snd plot the nexus and set up for s thunderhulk the next turn and you have plenty of room by taking out alo thr powrrstone makers and other draft chaff make your own odds if u will
