Everyone makes mistakes, it’s about owning it, learning from it and moving forward. They’ve owned it now hopefully they learn from it and keep trucking. This game has incredible potential.

I have to agree that people took his comments out of context. He was just being honest and how often do we get that from developers?

Making games is hard. Especially when the Internet is crying about things that aren't even real issues and they're trying to keep us happy. What's worse? Correcting a wrong, or wrongly propagating it?

I appreciate the honesty from Madfinger Games. I'm 128 hours into GZW and I love it! If you're getting mad about issues or losing gear just remember this is early access. Take a deep breath and realize that these things are to be expected. Give the dev team a break and realize they are working hard to make this experience even better for all of us.

I don't get why people get worked up about people who want to be honest, who want to be doing the right thing. Positive behaviour should be rewarded, not punished. Even if the wording may not be 100% PR-friendly.

I lost a bunch of gear to the update and I reported all 3 crashes I encountered. I thought it was on my end and rolled back drivers and tried so much to make it work before angrily giving up. Hopefully they fix it because it sucks losing stuff you had to grind for over performance issues

tbh form my side of view, optimization really should be the main focus right now.. ofc game breaking bugs should also have a priority, such as ai keeping aim even after breaking line of sight.. but you said that it will be fixed so that is good.. but the devs really need to fix memory leaks in every single asset they have in game and also server side.. and also fix the damn server crashes that is a somewhat reoccuring event every few hours, maybe due to memory leaks.. but i really hope they do NOT add anymore content, until the game runs smooth and stable, client and server side.. i noticed yesterday when i played, that every thing on map just stood still, heli's coming in and out just froze in place, and 20-30 sec later, server got disconnected..

The same people blowing what he said out of proportion are the same kind of people saying that the AI sniped them at 500m hip firing. The reality of those people is they embellish what happened and are more likely to be 50m and in the open missing 20 shots on target. I don't blame him he saying they didn't trust what everyone is saying, if you cant recreate a bug you have to wonder if its someone telling the truth or someone bullshitting because they are mad they died.

Idk some people spent 100 dollars on this game. If I'm giving someone money for a product, they ask me to tell them If I'm having issues with it, and then they dont believe the responses I give them..thats a huge no for me regardless of the context. All people are asking for at the moment are performance fixes, AI fixes, and the helicopter situation lol. Hopefully they dont make the AI braindead either cause that would honestly be worse. gamers are a tough bunch to please but i wouldnt be surprised to learn that when something like this happens there are bots or commenters with benefits that try to negatively impact the whole situation by throwing oil on the fire they goofed and admitted it and rolled back the drop, lets move on, that is all good job as usual Crash man, thanks for the heads up ✌

I think people are blowing it out of proportion with that statement. I honestly am a huge fan of Madfinger's transparency. These situations are very likely to happen to any dev team so what's important is how they deal with it, and how they proceed to make things right. I've been waiting to see how Madfinger would handle a situation like this and after all that has happened, I'm still on board and still intend on purchasing and playing the game. I look farward to seeing where Madfinger takes this game!

"We didn't trust our community" - how is this taken out of context though, and I ask this honestly. That was the only issue I took with his statement, and at that, I thought it was a pretty big one. If a CEO and development team can't trust their testing group, of which even if you're not on the testing server but you still play the game, you're a tester. So the CEO and the devs outright said, they do not trust the ONLY people who could give them tangible feedback to help make the game better. That is a GIANT red-flag. It seems A LOT of people in the community have a huge aversion to accountability. I absolutely love this game, even through the flaws currently. That said, I still remain hyper-critical of a development team that made a CHOICE to release to EA WITHOUT a Public Stress Test like what was suggested by every big name streamer and content creator who played the game before EA launched. That was a choice. And they have to live with the consequences of that choice and that includes criticality when they make mistakes. Whether they be egregious, or minor. Does that mean we take it to the next level and be hyper-vigilant and vindictive even towards the devs when they make mistakes? NO. Absolutely not. Separate the Art from the Artist.

Imagine how much faster they could push the game with an engaged community. Coul quickly get bugs ironed out so they can focus on new material faster

As a professional software dev I have total respect for what Madfinger is doing here. While I don't know the specifics of their dev pipeline and the particular issues that caused this bad patch to go out, I can say for sure that modern development is complex and mistakes happen. These folks really seem to be doing great work, and I for one am hyped to see where this game ends up!

I uploaded a video couple hours after 5.2 and noticed exactly what you mentioned. 23GB of vram used then System ram usage rising. Also noted was GPU memory clock speed declining along with TBP all while walking through TB.

Totally anecdotal story here, and tbh I don't know exactly what words were exchanged. But a friend of mine claimed to have issues that prevented him from playing the game. When he tried reporting the issues to the devs, my friend claims that they banned him and told him that he was making it up. There are a number of reasons why this story is strange to me, especially considering he's a generally positive guy and has a history of, for example, feeding bug info to DICE over the years with the Battlefield community. However, this whole situation started to make me ask questions as I initially found the idea of catching a ban for simply reporting bugs to be completely absurd... but now I'm over here wondering how the devs are handling feedback over there

I’ve been a victim of mad fingers in the past when I played SGDZ, this is their time to shine and be on top of the gaming world, all they need todo is to LASER FOCUS on the game’s OPTIMIZATION, frames are not going smooth in an i7 12600 kf and RTX 4070 (my brand new computer,every game runs in epic with decent FPS), this means optimization has room for improvement. Performance issues get works when being at tiger bay which is my favorite place to play since there is SO much action, I’m a try hard, you made me like this since SGDZ. 2. Once done that, then please work on IA, it behaves way too stupidly sometimes, the accuracy and randomness for headshot is a feature that drives You crazy, I don’t care about their intense attacking me, I just don’t want to die for random headshots,(yes it may happen IRL) but some bots are using red dots and headshot You behind rocks! 3. I don’t care about content for now, all I want is a game that works properly, if you continue focusing on monetizing by content, you will stop paying attention to fundamental errors that exist from the game’s birth, so polish your game, because arena break out is an immediate option for plenty of players ( and of course tarkov even with their cheaters) Crouching and slow walking are features that should work better against AI, about these features in PVP, slow walking needs to be improved to be heard in the open field, one can hear the footsteps inside buildings but not when you are in an open space with vegetation around, sometimes vegetation won’t even make a noise when a player moves ( sometimes bots approach you from the back without making a single noise!) 5. Common bugs that are being exploited (duplicate keys, duplicate cash and so on) 6. If a player joined the wrong faction, he should be able to switch factions every new season (or 6 months if you haven’t established that, or by reaching out to the help and support team)

Player response here; What version of the game are you (the dev crew) playing? I play on the US East servers and with exception to the AI issues and rubber banding it seems to play well enough for me to get my play time enjoyment. But to say they “didn’t trust the players” (the base in which paid for their what could be a great and fun game for time to come) is like a slap in the face like “oh you say you are having problems? That’s odd, we aren’t seeing ANY of the issues mentioned so move along” I’m in it for the long haul for this game as long as they don’t pull the plug themselves….

The more I hear from the devs, the more I like them. People will complain no matter what. You have a small dev putting out more updates/patches than large firms, being open and more transparent, etc and theyre still complaining. A normal dev would have left the bad patch and the only response you would get would be some code to go to a website and "learn more" that tells you nothing. You get an honest dev and pick out some words to get triggered by? Just appreciate how cool this game is, and what it will be, and chill a little in the mean time.

My thought is that people are having a little bit too much emotional capital invested in a game. I don't understand people getting so extremely twisted about a bad patch. They fixed it the next day. They didn't leave it broken for a month like other companies do *cough craptivision* The incredible potential of this game is still there. I'm still on board.

The game is so amazing, I just hope they don't give up and keep moving forward with it. I can't wait to see what this flower blossoms into.

Most of the nonsense I've read from "the community" would make me not trust them either tbh!. Some people can't seem to give quality feedback without ranting and raving. So much of it is just utter crap. Some of it reads like actual propaganda against the game. All of it sounds like the Internet today.

The gaming community is all over the place so weeding that out is indeed difficult. On my end the game was much better so you are correct, it’s complicated.

As sincere as the apology was, I just can't for the life of me understand why one of the most GLARING and PROMINENT requests in the community was to address performance. And it went ignored? Make it make sense. I mean, it was obvious they were ignoring us about it from jump street because they'd focus on everything BUT performance. Coming out and saying it just adds some extra sting. "Hey, our PTE is live come join," week after week. There's a crash reporting system. Where is this data from our crash reports going? What's being taken from our participation in the PTE's? NOW they ask for help and for us to fill out surveys with our specs? How can we be so sure that they'll trust us? Or do they see their numbers dwindling and all their top streamers and creators are no longer showcasing their game?

People need to chill out. Devs are getting bombarded by dumb comments and criticisms and drowns out the constructive ones. You cant blame the devs solely because of this.

I love the game, but I took a break before the patch. Mostly because I'm the only one of my friends with a powerful enough system to play.

Why haven't you addressed the mass controller ban issue? Could you please communicate with the developers and request them to address this pressing concern, given that you have a direct line of contact with them? This issue is critical and affects a significant portion of the community, so it needs prompt attention and resolution.

I won't lie, putting the words "we didn't trust our community" in a tweet sounds like a HUGE PR no-no. To me, it's obvious that reverting the hotfix almost immediately shows they do indeed trust their community and want the best for them, but these types of mistakes can kill a game - even if the game is good. Larger Dev teams have a whole department dedicated to this, which does lead them to be souless in a way, but some sort of middle ground should definitely be reached to make sure the community doesn't have these devs at the stake. They don't deserve it, but without careful wording, it'll happen anyways.

I don't think the CEO meant it like they do not trust the community period but they don't trusted the community about the FPS issue in that hotfix as there is a big FPS problem and they though it's just that and not something else, something new the hotfix did. Keep in mind English is not their first language, they are Czech so it might be just badly worded of what he meant and didn't specify it enough about what they did not trust the community about.

bro, of course they cant reproduce it on their end. they dont have mid tier PC's like some of us do....get some mid tier and low tier PC's to test your game on..... Musicians dont just slap sounds together and put it out there. We play it on Subs, Studio monitors, tweeters, Car systems (good and bad), Stereo speakers, mono speakers, stereo mono speakers, Tv speakers, headphones, ear buds and we mix it til theres an even medium between all of them. Games should be no different

My issue is they only ever communicate through content creators and only the ones that are overly positive about the game, and I don't think they would have done any better selling pre-orders because most people in my friends group saw the streamer only beta as a huge red flag (in hind-sight a correct observance). There are literally not near enough Graphical adjustments in the game and the ones there are speaking for myself do not do anything, get the same blurry mess on epic or low and only minimal difference in FPS.

While I enjoy the game and fully support the developers. I have uninstalled it. It will probably be that way until the AI is fixed. I find it a bit absurd when the AI using AKs and PS ammo can 1-shot you through a Level III+ vest, yet sometimes take full magazines of the stuff to go down while wearing a IIIA commander vest. Or like how the AI sit there, perfectly still until they spot you or you shoot even just a single shot at them, and then they instantly know where you are, even if you are 300 meters out, prone, in foliage. Grenade range also seems strangely super short even if the description on the grenade I was using says they are dangerous up to 30 meters. It also seems like they are immune to flashbangs.

This is a good thing. They learnt their lesson. And they apologised. Come on, how many dev actually do things the way they did? Plus, the test was for other issue, so the form are not toward performance and other issue that may arise. So I guess most of us tester didn't submit forms? But alot of us did put in testing chat.

I suggest they hire the Modders that make the SAIN AI for SPT. They are the best I’ve seen in a game. I don’t understand why people buy an EA game and think they are supposed to get hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of it. EA games are meant to be tested, report bugs, give suggestions and move on until the next update. They aren’t meant to be your daily driver game. That’s full release unless they are games in EA for literally years.

I love the game, so please be patient, It will be like cyberpunk where at the end has a happy ending. they will make this game so much beautiful.

I don't have a huge problem with the CEO's comment. It was poorly worded, sure. A PR person fluent in English could have probably worded it better. They are a Czech company and English is probably not his first language. I interpreted it to mean, we didn't trust the community reports of issues. Maybe the community reports were not totally reliable or largely anecdotal. I would not burn Madfinger down over this. It just seems like an honest, yet poorly worded, comment from the Madfinger CEO. I'm not bothered by it, Madfing should just keepo up the good work and not get drawn in to twitter drama.

I get the dev's not wanting back lash. However, I DO NOT think people are overreacting to their statement about trusting the community. "Trust" is a pretty strong word about belief in the reliability and truthfulness of something. To say you don't trust your community/customers when it comes to the quality of your product is not a good look. And, regarding the fact that a lot of GZW players are Tarkov refugees because of how poorly Battlestate Games and Nikita treated them, to come out and say "we didn't trust you" doesn't help. The good thing is that they've acknowledged it wasn't a good look and that they want to change that going forward. We will have to see how the next hotfix performs because if they take too long to address issues than that acknowledgement doesn't really mean much. My message that I hope Madfinger Games takes from this, "Don't become Battlestate Games. Nikita should be an example of what NOT to do. Fix your shit and trust your customers or you will fail".

more usage of ram i noticed too, but i have 8gb vram and 64gb ram, ram was never full. but ram is slower than vram, maybe this caused the fps problems on my machine

The game may not be in a very good state rn, but it is very fun this game has insane potential and if they succeed then this game will blow up!

Informative video crash, you know if the dev's plan to add taxis (APCS ,HUMVEES ,river boats, or even tuk tuk's) to alleviate some of this congestion of that FOB or other locations?

Sure they test whit a 4090 and didn’t notice any fps drops or increase vram usage , they have to test whit 2 different gpu at least before dropping updates , I mean understanding from errors too , why the performance decreased and the vram and ram increased ? I test it and have always msi afterburner on .

But I get where they're coming from, most complaints are just not useful feedback, and people don't feel like they are signing up to help the developers. But in the end this is their game and their responsibility to find a solution for.

they are a small studio that normally does mobile game this is there first pc game that a big step up so for them to make mistakes is common.

ive been getting 90-144 fps on high/epic settings. rtx 4070. so ive not noticed performance issues.. rather network issues. I can only imagine this is an issue for those with low end PC's using a 3060 series or equivilent.

Nothing to be taken out of context, he outright stated "we didn't trust our community". Doesn't matter if mistakes were made that led to the problem, that has nothing to do with the community. I'm not bashing them, but I'm also not giving them a free pass. In this case a bad statement was made and that's that. How they act moving forward with regards to community feedback is the litmus test I'll judge them by. I love the game, and I look forward to the improvements I have no doubt will come with time, I just won't white knight for them and give them a pass when they drop the ball.

I thought the AI has been a lot better, IDK maybe I'm getting better (wishful thinking) but they seem a lot easier to deal with. I haven't been 1 shot in probably over a week and I play every day usually 2-4hrs. Haven't been back to Tiger bay yet but ban pa, blue lagoon and sawmill a lot lately. Maybe it's because I don't crouch anymore either. IDK, when the game first came out I was getting 1 tapped quite a few times a day but nothing lately, could just be luck too I guess

I'd be curious to know what spec PC's people are using to run this game. I have a 5600x/32gb/6750xt12gb@1080p/60fps locked. Runs fine. Haven't had a crash ever. Servers used to drop in the initial release, but since the first patch the oceanic servers have been solid. My main complaint (apart from the AI) is the ram leak. The game continues to run after exiting and just maxes out my ram. I have to force quit from task manager.

People are mad cause their high expectations, can't match with a game that is not finished. Imho park it for 6 months and come back later. Maby therefore the gaming industrie should stop using Early acces releases. just let people wait 7 years again, until a game is realy done. And let them buy the games again on a DVD disc. just like the old days😄

Shouldn't have rolled it back at least ai were better and a lotta good rigs lost 10-20fps the kids who the 3040 losing frames were half the complaints (not saying that those people shouldn't be a to play but if a small period of early access feels bad for them so everyone can actually fight ai so be it) everyone on a 40 series card saw it as a w barely lost frames and ai were good others lost significant frames but appreciated the ai changes they could've left it and worked on the frames well ai r bearable

Why use a photoshopped tweet. The actual post/ statement makes sense because they couldn't replicate the issues on their end, it's not just a "we don't trust you" matter, it's a "we tried to replicate the issues and couldn't so we dismissed it" thing. Which is understandable.

How can we trust that they trust the community from now on, when they didn't trust us in the first place? My steam review is negative, and its gonna stay that way until we get MASSIVE changes to the game in pretty much every aspect, I don't care how much "potential" it got, even a roll of toiletpaper has potential.

This game is a fucking masterpiece. I said what I said.. These Devs are open, have solid communication, and a great vision! Not to mention, this community kicks sooooo much ass. I have yet to run into a salty/rude player in my 150+ hours.
