It makes me a bit sad that they made Thalassodromeus a Pteranodon-equivalent in this game. Thalasso had one of the strongest bite-forces of any known pterosaur, sharpened edges upon its beak and, much like Azhdarchid pterosaurs such as Quetzalcoatlus and Hatzegopteryx, was especially competent on the ground, suggesting that this species was an adept terrestrial predator that could hunt large prey (For its size). I get the idea that PoT wants to have a species roster more focused on obscure species, but with the three newest species in particular they suffer the fate of having their own distinguishing traits being sacrificed to make them fit into the stereotypical roles of mainstream species. Pycnonemo is literally just Carnotaurus with a fancy name (The two species aren't even closely related btw), there's so many other obscure Abelisaurids out there, like Rugops and Rajasaurus, yet instead they chose the one known only from fragmentary remains, which could've allowed them to get extra creative with it, only to turn it into a generic Carno clone. Kaiwhekea is depicted as an Elasmo-like species despite the fact that it was actually a short-necked filter-feeder that used its teeth to sift through the seabed for edible material. Could've made it a herbivore to reflect that fact, which would've been pretty cool since that'd make it the first herbivorous aquatic in any of these dino survival games... _also why does it have lips? It's a Plesiosaur, not Jormungandr from God of War 2018._ And based off the silhouette for it on the game's web page, Hatzegopteryx will be based off its outdated depictions of it being near-identical to Quetzalcoatlus, despite the face we know it had a shorter neck and utterly MASSIVE beak like that of a toucan (Proportionally speaking). Suggesting that just like Thalassodromeus, it was a big game hunter as opposed to Quetz, which was more of a heron that snapped up small prey it could simply swallow whole. 'Least Eurhinosaurus actually looks like it's supposed to based on its silhouette, the reptilian swordfish that predates true swordfish as opposed to a generic Icthyosaurid. Keep in mind, I don't hate this game at all, I just wish they'd give these obscure species more respect by having their mechanics and designs be based around what they were actually like instead of making them adhere to the stereotypes of their more popular alternatives.

The annoying thing is Thallosodromeus irl was not a fish eater, it was a macropredator that fed on land animals smaller than it. It had a reinforced skull and the strongest bite force of any pterosaur, perfect for crunching large lizards and small dinosaurs.

This video just showed me something I had never thought possible, diving pterosaurs like some modern day birds do in order to catch smaller bait fish. Damn why didnt this ever occur to me before

Tip for you guys if you didn't know, when you hit someone or someone hits you the eye popup means it registered(fyi this doesn't popup when you hit another thalasso with your wing or when you run into someone, even tho u still take dmg) and you can now swallow things while moving

A tip for flyers. When gathering lakeweed, just do yourself a favour a hover above them. Sarcos basically 1 shot you. Also, small raptors can reach many spots you can except the highest peaks, watch out for those pricks

I am not good at Ark so I was wondering if you could make a guide on the best ways of getting started, getting more tames, getting further into the game, best way of breeding/mutating, and everything else you do to get to the points that you get to in your videos. I have always wanted to be able to get to the points in the game that you get to but I have never made it that far, some other things I've wondered is what the best tames are, for you, best base locations/needs for an area that is good for a base, etc. I've loved the way you built your base in the 100 Days On Scorched Earth in Hardcore, but I have never gotten to that point of having that amount of materials to be able to do so. But it's just an idea that I think a lot of people would like to see, as I feel a lot of the people that watch you are like me, who want to reach the goals that you complete in your videos. If you could do that then that would be great. Have a great day!

Little known mechanic! You can glide as the thalassodromeus if you get high enough and find an updraft. Simply release the forward button/control. However, you can't glide indefinitely, so remember to push forward every now and then to keep your momentum! Also, you can land more easily by using precise movement and pressing C or just pressing C. Be careful, though. Pressing C when moving too fast can cause damage.

Hello syntac I've been watching you for some time and love you're videos but I'm having a problem in ark me and my friends love this game and we want to explore it and enjoy it but this thing called host barrier i think it's when away from the host it just teleports you back to the host which means it's hard to explore with it And we have tried to play dedicated servers but every server we get raided so how can we play like you without the host barrier i tried everything (we play on ps4) and Thanks for the content
