I understand people having some gripes with MHA but I think it has been totally worth the ride. Glad to see you decided to give it a chance and see for yourself, excited for the journey!

Basically My Hero is very popular so a lot of people watched it and continue to watch it because it's a big name despite the fact that it's clearly not for them and don't seem to realize they can just....quit. And let the rest of us enjoy our lives lmao. There is a reason this show is such a big deal. It's emotional and poignant. Optimistic but realistic. Nuanced. Everything it does is purposeful, even the things you'd never expect. Legendary musical score. Some of the most captivating, rewarding, and masterfully written character arcs I've ever seen in my life. And a shockingly realistic take on what would happen if humans developed superpowers. Absolutely one of the most fascinating stories I've ever experienced.

it sucks that the fandom is so toxic because it steers people away from the show and makes people hate it for absolutely no reason. this show is one of my personal favorites and it definitely holds a special place in my heart. the show doesn't deserve all of the hate that it gets.

The fact that both his parents had abilities and he doesn’t is a quirk (figuratively), and unfortunately it singles him out in this extraordinary society. It’s like the opposite of X-Men

I also love that you're watching the english sub, because as much as I love the english voice actors, the Japanese just has a charm to me (tho i'm also studying japanese so that helps)

to me, the only negative point that i can think of in that anime, is the quantity of flashbacks there is some episodes that loose 40-50% of their length in flashbacks about the previous or two episode before specifically in the 4th season but beside that i seriously love that anime

YES! Your gonna love this based on your love of Naruto, which seemed to be one of the inspiration for this show.

This show was top tier, and got tons of praise from all angles for years. Then, at some point, a bunch of people decided they hated it now. Maybe Covid caused a long gap between seasons, and they never forgave the show for that gap? I've never understood why so many hate on the series. The only criticisms I hear are "It had so much potential, but it wasted it" which seems like an odd criticism for a series that isn't finished yet. How would they know? The series is a wonderful series. I don't know what the haters are smoking. It's my favorite modern series, and am always elated to see new people discovering it and growing to love it.

Like any anime, there are going to be extremes on both sides but this is a solid show and I was there week to week from the beginning watching the hype unfold live before it got popular to hate on MHA. He gives you a representation of the character Guy sensei Although her voice actor is your favorite Arrancar Charlotte and of course the bully boy he is Genya

Excited to see you starting this! I think it’s a lot of fun and it gets a lot of unfair hate due to how popular it got. That said while I used to be caught up to this I fell veryyyyy behind but am now interested in catching up again. Rewatching alongside you should make for a fun refresher!

I'm just curious of who's going to be your favorite character. This series has many ova's and currently three movies with a fourth one coming out next month in Japan and will be release in American theaters on October 11th.

Hi that was my first time joining a stream and I hope I'm able to join the next one! Also my anime recommendation for the future is Saint Seiya. It was created by Toei before Dragon Ball was a thing and it's on Crunchyroll. It's very popular in not only Japan but also Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries but not really popular here in the U.S. but Netflix made a 3D remake which did not receive well especially since they changed one of the main characters into a girl and changed a lot of things in the first season. So if you ever think of watching it, watch the original 1986 anime.

"I already love him" Not really, you will really love him in the next episode (they are so connected, that I always recommend seeing both of them together)

There isn’t anything special that makes villains villains, they are just people who are using their powers for “evil” for whatever motivation they might have, Kamui was just playing up the theatrics, this villain was just a common thief who panicked and used their quirk to try and get away with it

The timing of this is perfect. It's been a frustrating run with their studio taking SO LONG between seasons. I think it's close enough to the end now that you will be able to react to the entire show without any big delays. This is going to be a fun ride!

I started out watching in dub and their voices fit them each perfectly 🥺

The doc wasn't saying that the Quirks had faded in the family, he was saying that Midoriya should have demonstrated either one of his parent's Quirks, or a combination of them. Quirks actually have a tendency to get stronger over generations

My hero is an amazing show with a very good power system very interesting and badass character both on good and bad side, people are hating just for the fan base, don't listen it will be an awesome ride

Hey welcome to this anime, its my favorite one, the 2nd episode is usually the hooker, and it doesnt have filler episodes imo, you can argue like two or three but irs not nuch so might as well watch all of them, I hope you keep watching and enjoying, also, you can watch either sub or dub, both are amazing, so it's up your personal preference

I am two weeks late but I am so happy you started this series. I will be honest the community is ihhh 70% of the time, but the serie is a 10/10

I'm going preface this comment by saying I watched this show weekly when S1 aired and read the manga weekly ever since then. The "MHA Hate" is very misplaced. The most vocal hater groups are people getting mad over fictional ships being "non-canon" and people getting mad over having ships entirely about a *fictional* show about teenagers. Both of these hater groups are stupid people complaining about stupid things. MHA does have actual problems with it. The author was at some point clearly writing MHA with a goal of making it his One Piece or any of the 700+ chapter mangas. Then he regretted that decision and wanted to just be done with it and move on. Then AGAIN his inspiration sparked and he found motivation to continue. The end product is a story that starts slow and builds the world taking it's time. Then suddenly we are at the final battle and that final battle takes 2,5 years in chapters because there are 50 storylines that didn't have time to bake in the oven and now have to be tied together in one continuous sequence. It doesn't really bother a first time viewer that can just marathon the whole thing almost completely but the weekly reading the manga and to an extend watching the anime has really been like dying a slow death. /rant

Small correction. The villains don't turn or mutate, that is just their quirks. Pursenapper was always able to turn bigger and the slime villain was always that way do to his quirk. If you use your quirk to do crime and cause distruction, your a villain.

YES❤ I love this show. Like all fandoms there's always the problematic people, or just kids being a little cringey (everyone goes through cringe and you're lying if you say otherwise) I think mha has something for everyone

I don't understand how people actively hate on any kind of fictional story unless they're actively being forced to consume it. Not every anime series is for everyone and that's fine. There are series that haven't resonated with me, but I don't go hating on the title, creator or its fans. I could see some people being disappointed/angry in how works are adapted into different media (ie anime, live action, etc.) but those are more caused by a betrayal of expectations from the original. I really enjoy MHA so I'm really excited to see you entering into this journey. While we're at it, a quick VA check. Izuku is the same VA as Yushiro and Katsuki is the same VA as Genya from Demon Slayer.

i dont know if someone has already told you, but about Bakugous "swan dive" comment, the author of MHA said in an interview that he actually regrets having Bakugou say that, because it "was going too far in the direction of Bakugous character" and it doesnt get brought up in the story again.

The villains in this show is just people with quirks but instead of living peacefully they are causing crime by using their quirks
