@@yellow_flash813 Yeah New York is on the state map. Kind of like California is the state and you have cities inside of the state such as Los Angeles and San Diego. But most people refer to New York City as the state of New York so it creates unnecessary confusion especially for foreigners. I remember being mind blown when I saw New York on the state map for the first time.
That was a great learning experience when u corrected the vietnamese girls english. As an english speaker myself, ive noticed people either dont say pronouns or use adverbs and adjectives that mean similar things but we wouldnt say it like that in english. I corrected someone and they thanked me, it probably depends on the person but I think it only helps to clarify for them
Some languages skip pronouns or state of being verbs (is) because they are implied in the context. Japanese skip personal pronouns in casual convo but they use state of being verbs and opposite for Vietnamese.
As someone who also lives in Albany, this is amazing to see. I recently picked up learning languages as well. I'm currently studying French and Japanese. Keep doing what you're doing!

meanwhile if i just try and say hello in another language i just sound like a duck being stranggled 😂 you just sound fluent and and seems effortlessly 👌🔥 how do you learn like the slang etc or is that more a western thing eg " hello how are you " etc ill tell people that is right but not correct and tell them to use like " hey, how ya going " ( pretty sure thats why english is so hard for others ) btw congrats on the improvements since an upload a year ago
