I Stay At Thorpe Park Shark Cabins - Was NOT Expecting THIS! 

Tim, I've been watching episodes of the Hotel Inspector with Alex Polizzi, it would be a cool series to visit the hotels she's helped to see if they're still up to par or even still open.

If you’re not local and after spending a big day in the park, I reckon that’s a great value option for a place to stay, recharge and ready for another day of fun. Cheers Tim 👍

Stayed here a few times, it's basic, but after a long day at the park you only really need a place to sleep. For dinner we actually walked to The Red Lion in Thorpe village for a really good meal. Rather than pay theme park prices for food inside the dome

Cruise ship cabins are constructed inside what are essentially shipping container type units and slid in to place on the ship. The little room has old cruise / ferry vibes

For autumn/Halloween can you stay in more haunted castles/ hotels? I know it's a bit early to be asking but gives you plenty of time to research & book 😁👻

If you're there after the vibes bar and kitchen closes, you can always uber some food to the park. I stayed there not long after it re opened during covid, and they actually recommend it to you. Every time I've stayed there since I've ordered out. It's cheaper, and the options are so much better. McDonald's, kfc, small independent places as long as you put in the parks address they'll deliver.

Fascinating vlog, Tim. I have seen homes made from these shipping containers but always think they must feel a bit claustrophobic.. Very eerie seeing an empty park in the evening.. I half expected a creepy clown to jump out! 😂 Thanks for the interesting video! 👍

Not sure if you could, but I’d be tempted to go into the car park in the morning and give my day tickets to someone arriving. You know if you were in the same position and was leaving and not using yourself. I’m sure Tim left far before opening time but that’s what I’d like to do. Nice to pass good karma if you can 😊

It actually looks like a cabin on an offshore oil and gas platform in the North Sea albeit more brightly painted, where I would spend two weeks every month on a two week on two week off rotation. We usually have bunk beds (bottom for day shift, top bunk for night shift).

Nice video. I’m in Florida and some of our major theme parks have some nice perks when you stay at their hotels (but you’re definitely paying a premium!). The first time I learned about this park hotel was watching a video posted by the Forgetful Dad, who posted a video of himself & family staying there. Definitely looks like a neat place to visit! Yet again, another fun video by you!

do they have anywhere to store car doors?

If you're a family with small kids that are really about the theme park, this is pretty basic but seems like it would fit bill.

Hotel looks amazing such a cosy room and fantastic they got AC cos most hotels they don't and thats ridiculous during summer. I would stay there for sure hygiene looked great. Ummm but only thing is for one night 1 person £159 for me is a little on the pricey side but I mean thorpe park is lovely even when it's empty still looked cool. Also yeah if the music was playing in an empty theme park like that then I would have found it creepy lol. Thanks for sharing Tim 👍

Hi Tim. Liked the room. If you had Gaby and family with you it would be worth the price especially as it includes free tickets for two days to the park.

Please can you go to what used to be the Chocolate boutique hotel in Bournemouth? It’s had new owners in the last few years so it would be intriguing to see how they have changed it

£159 per person that is too , not by room. I thought amazing price untill I just went to book it and came up to 522 for 4 of us 😂

We went, two days in the park, free breakie, free parking and an hours fast pass on the second day , worked out cheaper than a day ticket!

When I was a kid back in the late 70s I went on a school trip to Thorpe Park. Things were completely different then have any roller coasters or theme park it was mainly water rides. I'm pretty sure it had maybe one or two amusement arcades and 1 or 2 bars + restaurants which us kids was not allowed in as we was only 15 at the time. I do remember a few aircraft hangers as well with old World War II planes. There was also things like boats from the Viking era as I said it was more like a history place, how things have changed. I'm curious does anyone else remember Thorpe Park like this back in the late 70s.

Very interesting its a good idea for people who love rides

Some of the Shark Cabins now have turned to Swarm Cabin which is all themed around The Swarm. Stayed at Shark Cabins last year what you get with the stay is good for the price but in the evening is kinda doll as can't do nothing just sit out side or play some arcade games

We have stayed there and loved every minute of it.

Tim please come to haven in Allhallows Kent... its a huge campsite on the Thames Eastuary in a tiny village.. I have my own views on the campsite but would love for you to review it... if you want to see all the amenities open come high summer... when the weather is good its a little bit of peaceful bliss

Great video, I’m not sure I would stay here though as I’d find it too small. We are staying at Alton towers hotel next month for my son’s birthday.

I don't see the appeal of staying in a room with no window and not much to do in what looked like a very claustrophobic box. Price though didn't seem too bad with entry tickets and breakfast included but not somewhere I could stay. Perhaps the room would have been better without the bunk beds being made as looked like the top one was on a gas strut so foldable when not needed.

Hello Tim,for the money it looks good,the container is big enough for a family but for myself I have the double bed lol.maybe it would be noisy wehn the park is open.

maybe you ought to check out Richardson`s holiday camp in Hemsby , we stayed there for a few days, it was so so. the entertainment was good but the accommodation could have been better.

£159 is not bad with the two days of tickets etc. It’s basic, but it does the job! Have you thought about one of the “safari” type places you can stay at a zoo such as the ones at Port Lympne in Kent? That would be amazing with the family :)

I remember going to Thorpe Park a few years back

I once stayed here and loads of young guys were making terrible noise. I went out and asked them politely to quieten down. They declined. The next time I asked it wasn’t so polite. It worked.

Hi I'd hate to go to anywhere which doesn't serve meals after a certain hour. An on site shop is a must even for a sandwich or bakery items to see you through until breakfast. Did you think your family could stay there?

i know a lot of thorpe park goers tend to end up at the Hungry Horse restaurant down the road at the end of the day. its a sit down eatery, but at least you get an indoor table you know? Anyway, thanks for this video, always wondered what was in there.

Awesome video! I did a review & video about a year back on it! As a theme park enthusiast i was very honest! If you get a deal id say its pretty good for a night! Sometimes they do night quizes which is fun! I gotta say I enjoyed it there & are now there are themed ones for the rides! Id stay again although its a bit claustrophobic😊

Most hotels are shipping containers now, they just do a better job of disguising them 😂 Seriously though, if you ever see something like a Premier Inn being constructed, each room is a shipping container which arrives on site fully kitted out on the inside. They just stack them together and put cladding on the outside.
