Honestly I think this is the best Casino/Resort/Ranch you have ever reviewed including the Strip, it looks so inviting and possibly less crowded depending on the day.
Stayed at GVR for a business conference. They really do an excellent job with the food, the service, the accommodations. Plus it just has a nicer more relaxing vibe than the strip.
Thanks so much for doing this one! Hubby and I travel to Las Vegas twice a year and we stay on the strip. But… we always stop at GVR on our way home (we drive from Phoenix). We are coming up to Vegas next week and THIS time we actually decided to get a room at GVR for our last night there! I’m so excited!
I love how you point out the details (tile etc) often we take for granted the little touches but they really do work hard to put together those rooms. Last time I was in Vegas I felt SO overwhelmed in a good way. I just felt at times that tourists around me took for granted the details...I would be OOOing and Ahhhing and all of the beautiful touches in the casinos and restaurants and often people would just walk by looking at me then finally notice what I was looking at ahah. Maybe there's just so much that one can't take it all in or your head will explode especially coming from a tiny town. :) Love your vids!
Ruby , do a part two when you have time , The District , sort of mini Town Square is sooo good too , and is right next too GVR so many good shops , bars and restaurants .😊
Glad you liked Green Valley Ranch! I've always considered it my "local" casino, and have stayed here several times when my daughters have come to visit. They used to have a great poker room, but, sadly it closed during Covid and never re-opened. Their buffet was the bomb too but also gone like so many other Vegas buffets.
Love GVR. Hank's has a whole separate Vegan Menu! The Bang Bang Broccoli is a terrific side , starter or snack with cocktails. They had an upside down apple cake with caramel sauce that I still dream of today. Also vegan! Everyone is so friendly there. It really gives Wynn a run for the money. Yet, totally different vibe.
Yes, GVR is awesome! My relatives stay here when they visit. I love the beach walk out in the pool, I always tell everyone how fantastic the pool area is here. The casino is pretty loose and they have a decent range of slots and table games for sure. Borracha is EXCELLENT Mexican fare but, Hank's really is a fantastic steakhouse. It gets very noisy sometimes because it's so busy. I also like the short walk to The District. Nice to walk around there and grab a latte at CBTL. Definitely a must for those who want to avoid the madness of The Strip, and being right off the 215 is a plus. Great review.
We've been looking at GVR for a while now, thanks for this in-depth look! Based on this video alone we're adding GVR to our list of desired destinations for visiting. In particular, we really liked that the rooms have an actual fridge that usable. Really interested in seeing some of the suites they offer, if you plan on another video/review there. As always, you're videos are amazing! We'll edited, excellent camera work, and of course your explanations are spot on.
Just go to Red Rocks in Summerlin first. K Do GVR about 10 years from now. I'll be done with it by then. k Keep GVR private for locals. We need the break.
GVR is doing their best to drive the locals away. First, they never re-opened their poker room or buffet after the pandemic and then they raised the minimum on most of their slots. You said you were filming on a Friday, and you can see how dead the casino was. Most of my friends who still go there go only for the restaurants. They're going to have to work pretty hard to get us back.
GVR has always been one of my favorite properties. I miss the reality show they used to film there - American Casino. It was interesting to see the daily ins and outs of the property. Great review, as usual, Ruby!!!
Ruby love your hair like this, so cute. Also GVR was the first place I ever stayed in Vegas. I think I was 15 or 16 and my parents made me go to Vegas with them - which at the time I thought was so lame because it was spring break and all of my friends were in Myrtle Beach… but ended up having a fabulous time. We loveeeed the pool. Fell in love with Vegas! Never get back there anymore and this video is making me sad 😂
I've always had a morbid curiosity regarding GVR since their _American Casino_ reality show and the fentanyl overdose death of their 'Vice-President of Hotel Operations' during those tapings. I've driven by the hotel several times going to Hemenway Park, but haven't stopped or stayed yet. Lately I have been frequenting off Strip properties like _South Point_ and _Buffalo Bills_ , so I'll have to make it a point to stop and check it out.
Wow, It is so weird to see a comment from another viewer of American Casino.... I too watched that show and loved it. So tragic and shocking when the VP of Hotel Operations died. When I went there to check it out it was because of the show. My morbid curiosity got the best of me. Beautiful place!
Back in the day, by the GVR on Saturday nights in the summer show outside free kids movies. We used to eat in there and the mall by it all the time. 10 years ago, interest to see if it still a good place.

Great video Ruby! I remember last year when you were live on RU-vid I asked if you ever stayed at Green Valley and you said you haven't yet. I love Green Valley and stay there everytime I come to Vegas. I am not sure if they still do this but when I reserved a basic king room online, they would email you special offers for room upgrades for great prices. A few years back I upgraded from a king room to a 2000 sq foot suite for a $100. Their staff is awesome as well. You ROCK Ruby!
Currently doing a locals staycation here right now, I'm in the West tower and its very nice. Ive always loved the casino but staying here is way better.

My wife & I love GVR - she especially loves hanging out by the pool during the day while I play video poker in the casino. GVR and Red Rock are our favorite casinos to stay at when we come to Las Vegas. Thanks for the great video - it was fun to relive it thru your eyes.
I really like Green Valley Ranch. It was clean and quiet. No degenerates, street walkers or bums. I didn't smell pot the entire time I was there. The dining was pretty darn good. Atmosphere reminded me of the early 2000's Bellagio classy vibe that the strip just doesn't have anymore. And it's a quick 15-20 minute drive to the strip. If not for attending trade shows and having to remain close to those events, I'd probably choose Green Valley Ranch every time.
I’ve always wanted to stay there. But we would only visit to eat breakfast before going back home to LA… they used to have The Original Pancake House but they removed it. That was the last time we went. I think it’s time, to book a weekend out there and just relax by the pool😊
I stayed at Green Valley Ranch resort in 2002 for our insurance company's annual conference. I loved staying there but haven't been back since. I'm retiring in August 2025 at age 71. You can bet I'll stay at GVR again! Thanks Ruby, love all your videos!
I’ve been meaning to tell you about what my husband and I do when you go to Vegas for a week. We go to Walmart and buy a cheap 10 or 12 cup coffee pot, coffee and cream. We then have coffee all week long for $25 or $30. We leave it in the room when we check out. It saves us a ton of coffee money and the nuisance of having to leave the room early buy it. 👍 totally worth it.
We do something similar. We pack our ziplock bags of coffee, sugar, creamer inside a smallish stainless steel kettle and take a pour over cone and filters. We save and recycle cardboard cups and lids from the occasional Starbucks splurge. If where we stay has a Keurig coffee maker, we leave the pour over cone and bring our own pods. 😂
I’ve lived in Henderson since 2013. GVR and the District is the best place to go! Hanks is fantastic. Thanks for reminding me that we are living in a resort community and lucky to do so!!
Charlie , I lived in Henderson from 2013 too , lived at the Domain apartments, you’re so right it’s great 👍 and the District too , left in 2018 and goodness I miss the weather and the locals , I’m back in London now 😢

Even though I’m staying at Caesars Palace for a fourth time in my upcoming trip, I love the reviews you did of those casinos. Rio is my favorite because (shoutout to Bob Barker & CBS) The Price Is Right had its 30th Anniversary Special inside the Rio’s Penn & Teller Theatre on January 31st 2002. Wynn/Encore is another favorite because the Encore casino in Boston Massachusetts closely resembles the Vegas casinos. That, and the Frank Sinatra restaurant pays great homage to Ol’ Blue Eyes. Luxor is another favorite because of its pyramid design and it was the first casino I won at on my first trip in 2019. And Planet Hollywood is another favorite because of Gordon Ramsay’s Burger Bar. The burgers are to die for
This was the first hotel I stayed at when I was a kid on my first trip to Vegas. They gave me a black teddy bear with a Green Valley Ranch shirt on it that I still have to this day.
the two hotels I would recommend next would be, JW Marriott Las Vegas and The Retreat On Charleston Peak up on Mt Charleston. The Retreat a bit far from the strip but its a really cool hotel
I have always wondered what happened to this hotel ever since I caught a few episodes of their reality show, glad it is still gong strong. BTW I LOVE room service.
Use to live up the hill in the Del Webb comunity from this casino in the mid 2000's. I enjoyed hitting the slots when the kids were in school for a couple of hours. I really enjoyed my time there when I lived in Vegas
This place looks better than most casinos on the Strip! Would rather stay here. Those ceilings in the casino! Nice details. Lots of character there. The rooms look good too.
Why would you not want a coffee maker in your room? Since most Vegas hotels do not include one in your room, I bought a 1-cup coffee maker that I put in my suitcase. It's convenient, and I save going downstairs and waiting in line to pay $ 6 for each cup.
I love GVR! It’s been a few years since we’ve been there, we might stay there real soon on our way to visit Utah and Colorado. We need to try out Hanks for dinner! 😁🩷

You look beautiful here. Yes GVR is a really nice property. It's probably the 2nd best offstrip locals casino/resort after Red Rock. The District is a nice outside mall area too. It's a bit pricey so would also recommend that families might find South Point better fits their budget if looking for an off strip resort. Your recent South Point video was very good too.

GVR is our go to place so near the strip but without all the chaos. Many places to shop and eat in the near by area. And still close enough to the strip to take a ride there..all in all great place to visit.
