Apple. Money. Apple. Money. Apple. Apple loves it and you love throwing it at them - money. I have no serious issues with Apple. Matter of fact, I believe they make some of the best tech in the entire industry. On top of that, they have undoubtedly paved the way for the world when it comes to the future of smartphones/tablets/PC's/VR. They have truly made some incredible leaps in innovation. With that said, sometimes they leap into a pile of garbage and present it as beautiful roses to the consumers. That's what I want to discuss. While I have trust in Apple, I no longer blindly buy their products because of these 4 critical things they did that truly broke my little ol' consumer trust relationship. Overreacting? Sure, maybe...but then again, there are a lot of people that buy Apple products and never can recognize when they pull an oopsie. So let's talk about those oopsies as we sit down and provide some constructive feedback to a company we all love and love to hate - Apple.
I was an iPhone user for a long time - iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 6s, iPhone X, iPhone 11 pro, iPhone 13 pro, as well as multiple iPod's, iPad'd, and Mac's by the way, so I am not criticizing them for no reason. I want to see them do better, that's all. I will continue to purchase Apple products in the future, that is, I will purchase products that I think are actually worth it. If not, I will spend my money elsewhere.
Is this to say iPhone is bad? Of course not! And there will be a video coming up about that.
Please give it a like and a share! I go out every other week to ask questions so there will be more content to come :)

I was an android fanboy for years, I defended them, I was a fan of HTC they went out of business, then sony they started making shit phones, Motorolla then Google Sold it, then came OnePlus after a point they became stupid their phones became slower and they started making expensive phones. This is the point I realized that yes, Apple did make decisions that were good for them, and in a way bad for us, but at least they had something in mind, for example, AirPods provide a simpler and more seamless experience than wired headphones ever did, but they’re much much more expensive and don’t last very long (but that downside is a pro for Apple) but every company eventually copies Apple instead of keeping their own identity, which made me feel like an Idiot. The line is so true, “You Either Die a hero (HTC, Sony, LG, Motorolla, Nexus) or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain (Samsung, OnePlus). So I shifted to iPhone in 2021 and updated my phone once last September, now I have AirPods, Apple watch, and macbook, I ain’t going back that easily. I chose someone that was the Villain from the start.

@@Everyday_Legends I loved older Motorola and OnePlus phones for their clean software and long-lasting performance. They were responsive and received quick updates, which mattered most to me. Today, companies focus on cameras and displays. While important, most flagships and many mid-range phones already have great displays. Camera improvements are often just added lenses and gimmicky names without real progress. Software is crucial for cameras, and only giants like Google, Apple, and Samsung, with their extensive data and proprietary algorithms, can truly excel. OnePlus used to prioritize clean, snappy software. Performance is more about software optimization than just CPU power. For example, my iPhone 15, despite having the A16 chip, is jittery on iOS 18 beta, proving that software matters more than the SOC. Both Android and Apple have started copying each other, complicating UIs unnecessarily. I preferred using custom launchers like Nova and Niagara for consistency, even rooting my phones for a better experience. The smartphone market today lacks innovation and distinct values, driven by loud fanboys rather than genuine progress. I agree with your message that defending a product blindly doesn't help. Companies won't improve if consumers don't hold them accountable.

To this day I truly believe the macbook Air 2015-2017 is best cause keyboard is solid. You can argue those newer maxbook airs r better, but for a budget these can be had with i7, 8GB RAM, 526GB for not much more then $350. If you're not a gamer & don't need ios to be updated to latest & greatest then these are solid laptops that can def carry you for next 3-4 years till you decide to upgrade (IF you decide to). These will last easily into 2030.

Yeah you got a point and I agree with you, but using an iPhone with a Macbook and Airpods is something no other company can do. When I copy text on my iPhone, I can instantly paste it on my Macbook. When I’m listening to music and arrive at work, as soon as I open it and start a meeting, the Airpods switch to the Macbook. For me, Macbook is far ahead from other laptops for productivity and user experience, so much that I convinced my company to switch to Macbooks… Yes, Apple is greedy and wants money, but so do the others, and Apple just has a OS that is super optimized, easy to develop, a great ecosystem and the User Experience. Without a Macbook, you can’t develop IOS apps easily, so If you want to be a Mobile dev, you need it. When I try to use someones Android, there’s a lot of unnecessary things that just don’t make sense. Some love Android, some love Apple, I don’t see the reason why people argue and try to convince the other side which is better. Just use what you like.
@thejackimonster9689
@thejackimonster9689 Месяц назад
"Without a Macbook, you can’t develop IOS apps easily" - that is by design. They made their ecosystem so that you are forced to go down that road. That's how shitty they are. It's not like any of the mentioned software features wouldn't be possible on Windows, Linux or Android. It's just not built-in by default and you have to set it up yourself if you really need it. Other companies could obviously do this. But first it's more difficult to do if you don't control all devices in the chain. Second most users don't care enough about those features to pay for that. I mean, it's the same way why those features only work when you have a Macbook, iPhone and Airpods. Couldn't Apple develop that software for Windows and Android as well? Yes, they could do that making it compatible. They just have zero incentive to do that. That is by design.

It's funny. I really don't care about most of these reasons. I don't use a headphone jack. And the first phone that removed it gave you the dongle. I stuck that dongle on the wire of my headphones and it never left the cord. Never a problem. The charging brick? I have a phone, laptop, and an iPad. I don't need 500 bricks. I get a good one from Anker and donate the rest. ------ What caused me to rage-quit Apple though was their inability to merge the iPad and the Macbook. I'm so sick of all this ecosystem bullshit. I'm going to buy the best of the best for each individual use case and then connect them in whatever janky-ass-way it works. I want a laptop that I can draw on like a tablet. I ordered that Microsoft Surface Pro. Apple not getting iPad money out of me anymore.

I'd argue trusting a company matters in the realm of software, security and privacy. Especially when we are talking about smart phones which are likely the most personal devices people have. I don't think anyone should easily trust a company with all that personal data since they have potential interest conflicts with keeping your data safe. Still that trust is pretty much required.

@@thejackimonster9689 Yet still, here we are, commenting on a video, using a service owned by the largest data collector of all. There's absolutely no way anybody can use the internet without using services and infrastructure that are compromised in one way or another. If these companies do not earn our trust now? Can we trust them if they claim to improve these matters? So if this trust is required, we have to make a choice; Do we keep using these flawed products, services and infrastructure, or do we abandon them altogether? What will become of either choice? How will this impact the world?

I completely agree with this video. I mean, I love my iPhone and iPad and MacBook big time but some of the things that this company has done has left me thinking “hmmm”. I almost lost it when they removed the charger which almost every time breaks at the tip without failure every few years forcing you to buy a new one because Apple only cares about aesthetics and not the durability of some things because their charger lacks the proper reinforcement at the tip for a more seamless look. Also, the anti right to repair stuff they have done is a little sketchy too. They will disable Face ID if you replace the sensor because it is matched to the logic board and if you replace the screen, True Tone is completely gone from settings. It doesn’t even give you a warning in settings. All the beautiful things that Apple had and made sadly died when Steve Jobs did. There was actual innovation and there was no corporate nonsense.

@@Graeme_is_SPED Not really. A literal picture could brick them, there's still no uBlock Origin or for that matter no web browser that isn't Safari or its skin, there are no security updates for older iOS versions like on Android since Mainline. Also all iPhones basically ship with backdoors by default and iOS permission control isn't as granular as it should be. I don't remember since when exactly, but you can also disable stock apps on Android, even Google Mobile Services. iOS is probably decently secure by default, but if you are willing to put in half an hour into setting up device, then Android is miles ahead.

You said nothing new, and some of your shit is older than my daughter who just started elementary school. Did not worth watching the whole video. Apple did not invented bluetooth audio. I have already had a sony wireless headphone when they introduced airpods. Did not noticed by myself with two android phones I dont have a jack, only after many months. I have a ton of charging bricks laying around the house, because every company used to give me one. I never used 90% of them. They were giving me garbage at this point. Because of pixel 1 and 3, I already had two usb-c chargers I did not use. I have a multiple port charging block that has two usb-c port and 3 usb-a. I bet you too have a lot of chargers around, if you dont throw them out immidaetly after purcashe. The butterfly keyboard was an admitted mistake, and they were compensating the affected customers. Oled was a really fragile thing back then. You did not needed to crack your screen to completely ruin it with a hit. Burn-in was really common back then. I was really cautious about it yet I got some. Allways on display was a big no-no, it was recommended by the companies themselv to dont use it that much. Whats the point then, duh? They implemented it only after the technology got enough good. Your only valid argument was usb-c, and thats not new either.

OLED is still fragile. All displays are, but typical LCD evenly dims with time, meanwhile OLED's individual pixels dim at different rates, but you get superior contrast as return. It's still a fundamentally better and flawed display technology, it's just more modern OLEDs wear out slower, but it just takes longer to burn them in, they still do burn in.
