why do ppl starting one piece feel so much pressure to catch up so fast its supposed to be a journey like the series is 1000 plus chapters for a reason the story isnt ending any time soon so even if u catch up quick you still have to wait week to week for the next chapter like the rest of us so u might as well take your time catching up to enjoy and notice all the smaller details but im glad u enjoyed it either way

It’s so cute, cool, and funny how even though Luffy, Sabo, and Ace are sworn brothers, these brothers look so much a like. Ace & Sabo: wavy hair Ace & Luffy: black hair Sabo & Luffy: round eyes Side note: Gotta appreciate how everyone in the One Piece world accepts them as being legit brothers no questions asked.

I always loved Sanji's backstory. The kindness of a character that went through such a desperate situation and isn't willing to let anyone else suffer it, no matter who it is. I also love the "found family" trope, big reason why I am into one piece. I just loved the straw hat family. I remember whole cake messing with me, a lot. Like, Sanji has always been there willing to sacrifice himself for the others since he got in the crew. He was there for Robin in Enies Lobby, he knows the extent they would go for him and yet he did it anyway. Then you get the extended backstory and the disgusting family he comes from. All those sacrifices take a more... concerning perspective. Was he protecting their friends or was it a "I gotta prove I'm useful" sort of mentality he developed due to the Vinsmokes? Did he do everything because he seriously thought he wasn't WORTH fighting for? As someone who had self esteem issues I couldn't help but feel that. Whole Cake will always be among my favorites for the arc they gave to Sanji. I love what Oda did with his character across Whole Cake and Wano

I watched the anime & skipped the filler to get caught up faster. Glad I gave the franchise a chance last year because I am a fan of it. Now I have merch of One piece. I can see why people really love it & why it has been going on for so long.

Reading all of One Piece while skipping most of the dialogue is like watching Game of Thrones with the audio off.

This is why I never try and overhype or even recommend One Piece. It's my favorite anime/manga and that's it. If someone has the time to spare, they'll find out themselves.

My guy binging One Piece is like the worst way to do it. The harder the binge, the worse it is. I thought I was bad finishing it in 3 months. It's supposed to be a journey, something you take time reading and enjoying. Honestly waiting week to week for each chapter is my favorite as you get to see the community go crazy with each chapter. (Jay D. Legend, Brago, Grandline Review, Murphy Napier, etc.) Not to mention seeing some of the crazy theories (parvision) Check out thr reverie streams sometime they are great and fun to see the community getting together 😊

I binged watched this series back in like 2013-14 and it took me 2 years from the very beginning to the middle of the Dressrosa arc and then another 2 or 3 years to finish Dressrosa and reach the halfway point of Whole Cake Island. It took me almost 10 freaking years to finally catch up to the third act of Wano with a few breaks in between whole Cake Island and Wano just to chill.

I would recommend one piece to anyone but I would always tell them take it at your own pace and enjoy the adventure. I will say you'd get even more out of it if read at a slower pace. Saga by saga and reading other things in between for example. Just so you can formulate a deeper insight for the characters and themes and connecting threads. I'd imagine reading so much in a week would subconsciously make you rush the later half due to tiredness and wanting to clear it asap. Also, i'll defend Usopp till the end :p Peace and love!

Highly recommend anybody planning on watching one piece to give it a shot first and if they find it too slow, to switch to watching "One Pace" which is a fan edit that fixes the pacing. I've watched One piece & One pace from Fishman island to Reverie and the edits are mostly fine while reducing the amount of episodes to watch by 50%. Also reading the manga is a choice too, obviously...

HxH has never felt faster to me than one piece. They just replace exposition with narration and A TON OF IT.

i got into one piece because of the "epic adventure" spin and I'm very glad I got into it.

This is a pattern for those who consumed too fast (usually for content). It's like eating so fast in competition on timer and complaining the experience is bad cos you didn't get to savor the food. Simply pretty stupid expectation.

When i first started Op i watched the first 3 eps and was so bored it took me over a month to continue ep 4 and in less than a month i caught up.and now been up to date with the manga for probably over 3 years Binging OP that fast isnt good for your health and enjoyment you could watch 10 eps a week or read 1 volume per week and will also have a great time. But one piece spoilers and content crrator make being caught up worth it the theory crafting is SUUUUPPPERRRR

One Piece anime is not slow, is good pacing IF you watching multiple episodes I a row, like 5-10 episode in a row/day, The reason you feel slow because you have mind set that is so long, secondly is becasuse you have mind set from haters of One Piece claim One Piece is slow pacing. Btw.. One Piece anime from episode 1-530 is amazing, after that you can change the manga.

Speed reading really tarnishes the experience imo (and this applies to any manga). Not only does it tire you out and make you care less, but it also gives you less time to process and overthink the events that occur in the story.

Didn't know reading this in a week would even be possible. I finished 1000 chapters of Hajime no Ippo in 3 months at most lol.

I don't think people coming into One Piece now can relate or appreciate the series like the average long term fan who have been reading the manga for a long while and are part of the theory community. I remember when Big Mom was theorized to have a witch devil fruit and when sanji was thought to be a Prince like 5 years before it was confirmed and when Luffy met Ace in Alibasta you BARELY saw a third saki cup when they reflected on their past and that turned out to be Sabo some 10 years later. I have been following the series since it's first airdate in America when I was 14 and now I'm 33. I have been pondering about the One Piece for 19 years. Someone new to the series can get caught up in about a month of diligent reading can't compare the emptional impact of 19 years of witnessing the story unfold.

I’m watching the video until I get to where I stopped at one piece which was right at the time skip (because I’m trying to reread it myself gotten to the end of Ennius lobby). I completely felt what tevin went through that somehow oda as he just kept going could keep one upping himself. No matter how small his story telling just keeps getting better. At the time I never wanted to stop and only did because I was caught up at the time and accidentally forgot about it lol.

I actually disagree with the fact to wait till the series is over because if your catching up once it’s over then you’ll most definitely get spoiled for what the one piece was and I think being there for the reveal when it happens will be one of the best experiences in media

I hate how people say one piece is too slow. The point of the story is the adventure less than the fighting. It's not a typicall shonen. Enjoy the journey, take your time, emmerse yourself in the story, the world, and the characters! Why is everyone in a hurry? One piece isnt something you speed run through or rush. Its meant to be digested and studied. Too fast and you'll miss something crucial. Oda likes to tell a story. He's trying to tell you/teach you something.

Loved the video only thing with what you said about waiting till the series ends to actually read and catch up. Id rather tell people to start now so they can build the mystery up for themselves about the One Piece, if they read after they'll know what the One Piece is and some chapters won't have a much of an effect anymore, it would still be a great story.

You're an absolute mad lad for getting through it in just a week. That being said, I disagree with you saying wait until the series ends to start it. I've been caught up for like 15 years and I've been in hype overdrive for the last 300 chapters. Also it makes zero sense to complain about how long the series is but then also complain about how dense and intricate each chapter is. Despite the series' length, Oda still works his ass off to include a stupid amount of details. When you read week to week, it helps having a ton of stuff to go back and dissect. Nevertheless, thanks for toughing it out and giving it an honest opinion. Not a lot of people willing to make that dive these days. Good vid man!

i appreciate that you gave it a chance but this is not the way to do it. it can get you burnt out real fast. one piece is a journey, a slow burn, you don't have to consume it in one go. i'm pretty sure you missed tons of foreshadowing and little nuances in the story. it's really not worth it if you spent a whole week consuming nothing but one piece
