Life hack: This game does not distribute exp but instead giving 100% exp for every pokemon you swap in, meaning that if you swap all six pokemon for every blissey, you can level up 6 times quicker. Only works in this mod so far
How much faster actually is it to switch every pokemon in for every blissey, instead of just banging them out and rotating your first party member? It'll be less total battles but probably a negligible amount of time saved
@@levy9595 Time-wise your method will be faster IF your pokemon have very high ATK stat since blissey's DEF suck. But if you don't wanna get sick and bored facing blissey an infinite time, or that your pokemon is SP ATK emphasis then using this method would surely help.
An even better tip is to just save as much of your early game money as possible. Maybe buy a history building and a neo building if you have the spare money. Go out and face as many of the trainers as you can and just try to build your money. As soon as you unlock the commercial district buy 2 museum's and a factory. That'll start increasing your income massively. Keep buying more buildings. You want to aim for 6 museums, 4 factories and then buy some of the eye catching/landmark buildings to fill out the commercial district. If done right you can get these by the time you team is level 40ish. You'll be waking up everyday with 999,999 pokedollars. The man in the Inn sells rare candies and vitamins etc. Just level up that way instead. You're then able to also buy TMs/TRs etc. You can have a full team of level 100, EV trained pokemon before you even get to Rank 4.
HDvee, when you first take on Edgar, he tells you that he spoke to the lady at that you met in this video and gained the ability to teach his pokemon moves they normally could not learn. That is probably why his Aggron knows icicle crash.
Yeah but the problem is that lady doesn't exist. Also it's only one person i saw that can teach your pokemon anything and it's just moves they knew before.
@@BlazingAce20 The lady you get the starter from says she can raise Pokemon so they learn moves they normally can't. That's where Edgar learned how to do the same.
@@BlazingAce20 It could be from skipping days [editing magic, yay!], but I believe the special buildings in the commerce district can affect your funds as well.
After watching the first video I actually downloaded and played this game for myself. I chose to play as a Fighting type Gym Leader, starting with a Riolu. The early game was pretty rough, because every single Gym Challenger I took on was packing either Flying or Bug types, with the occasional Psychic or Fairy. I think the game registers what type you choose, then *deliberately* comes at you with your chosen type's weaknesses in order to put you at a constant disadvantage. Thankfully I was able to catch a Jangmo-o of my own, and the fully evolved Kommo-o saved my keister more than once. It was an absolute beast in my playthrough, though I chose to keep Outrage on mine because of her insane Physical Attack over her middling Special.
The trainers that have been giving me the most trouble are actually the Rough Riders, due to me being a Ghost Gym Leader and their teams consisting primarily of Dark-types. Needless to say, I lost more than once when I was kidnapped by them and forced to fight with only 3 members of my team.
@@Samtehcool I started as a ghost type gym leader as well. All you need are pokemon that can learn shadow ball. So just add in pokemon that will learn shadow ball. Almost any Ghost type can learn it but being a Ghost type is hard without a fighting type on the team. So finding something that can do neutral damage that can learn shadowball is the best way to deal with them. You can also power level by going to the question cave. They have Goluks and stuff you can defeat easy with shadow ball. I think that is the best thing to do for as a Ghost type gym leader. Also just level up as high as you can and just catch any pokemon you need. Training any pokemon that you aren't going to use is pointless because those pokemon get higher as your pokemon get higher in level as well. I am sure you found your way to the top.
@@BlazingAce20 Personally, I just went with the grind-game. It honestly wasn't that bad early game for me, even though I was using Dragon-Types. Not once did I try to keep catching pokemon of a higher level like HDVee did. I honestly think that's just a waist of time and money... And grinding got way easier when Bliss showed up, especially after buying at least one Lucky Egg. Having that Lucky Egg before I started grinding against her Blisseys really helped me level up faster, even when my team's levels were evening out with hers.
For the fighting type gym leader, If you answer all the questions in Question Cave and veer down to the end, there's a woman who gives out a starter mon with a move they don't Usually learn. You can get them as early as getting off the boat, they start at lvl 5, and it's nice cuz you can get it from any of the Gens she offers. I snagged a Torchic for my Fire run and he is Glorious. Also sometime after Rank 2 or 3 the Starter Park opens, again- access to some of the starter pokemon might make things easier. As well as using the Caveat depending on what your Gym's Signature move is.
Personally, if you are gonna high level grind your Pokémon, especially for something as ridiculous as a level 70/99 Tyranitar, I think the trainers at the near end, even the champion, should have higher levels then the common level range in the original games, like make them up to levels 70 or 80, and when you do beat the game, you should be able to face the league as a postgame bonus and they be levels 90-100, and maybe their last Pokémon should be a Mythical/Legendary.
Probably one of the easiest types tp start off with would be steel type. Resists most of the early mons that likely still have normal type attacks and using mons like aron or (if it can fit into the 'gym' pokemon ruling, drilbur or piplup/prinplup) to cover for some of steel types weaknesses would make the early part easy to get through.
@@leofrank6864 Pretty Sure my team when I chose steeI was Ferrothorn, Metagross, Aggron, The Sword Ghost Pokemon, EIectross [It Iearns FIash cannon which means you can take it] and EmpoIeon!
I feel the same >< the way he plays is very strange, it's like he didn't explore the game at all, but I'm really glad he played it cus this looks dope as hell
i really like the idea that having a really reputable trainer as your towns gym leader is like an essential economic factor it feels very true to how economies and stuff would actually function in this world
its cool to see new pokemon fan games, it seems a lot of people tend to gravitate towards the (admittedly amazing) popular fan games, but it still neat to see new ideas
Pretty cool concept for a Pokemon game, but there are a few things that feel out of place. For example, the goal should not be to beat every single trainer that comes to the gym but to test them to see if they are worthy of having the gym badge. So with that in mind, I think there should be a level restriction and there should be a system to give advice and help trainers to beat you so you can give gym badges. The fact that you lose reputation when you lose a fight is kinda stupid because that just means the guy that beat you was worthy of the badge, there is no reason to be looked down upon for doing your job... Also I think it's strange for a gym leader to build buildings as if you're a real estate agent on the side. I think you should be able to furnish your gym as you want and find and manage gym trainers to populate the gym. Also if gym duties are too boring, there could be an idle mechanic to simulate fights and when you're off work you could go explore in your spare time to battle trainers and find things to make your gym better.
Watching this guy is weird because you can walk around in this game and check out routes to find neat items and pokemon. I'm enjoying his videos but the way he does the same thing in so many days; wake up, go to gym, train after, go to bed is a really boring way to play
Few things to mention: Edit: Spoilers - You didn't understand what you're supposed to do in the vacation area because you weren't looking for it. You can catch new pokemon that are specific from those places. You can also challenge the city's gym leader for a battle and they have pretty decent teams. -I'm pretty sure there's at least one quest I don't remember seeing you do. By the end of it you get a Move Tutor with new moves. Not the most exciting reward tbh, but a cool quest / character to do. -Some TMs are locket because they are gym TMs for other types. Earthquake is locked for the groud type gym leaders (which is pretty OP early on). - I'm not sure how far you explored because most of it could have been in the cut parts of the playthrough, but aside from the regular areas, you get access to a weird area where you can catch the kanto trade evolutions for pokemon. and I love how weird it is. -I think there's a NPC just like the Rare Candy dude in the city, but most of the time buying rere candies is too expensive when you can just do the Blissey training.
@@67buick the gym leaders sit on the door of the gym. Not sure if you need to be past some point in the story / be a certain rank of gym leader, but when you talk to them they will ask you for a battle. Edit for some info: my save was in the 4.2.0 version and max gym rank.
You think Blissey grinding is quicker than Rare Candies? You can be earning max money every night before being rank 4. Found rare candies were so much quicker.
So when u get kidnapped in the last video the girl who's guarding the ladder gives u infinite lum berries and soda pops if u keep asking for something to eat and drink. I went with poison type for my gym. I went into the Edgar battle with bisharp gengar Nidoking haxorus Golbat and machamp. Barely made it out of the Edgar fight alive. Didn't have healing items either.
Grinding against that Blissey team is really helpful... the game crashes when your mon reach lvl100.. or is it just mine? anyways, i chose fighting team and i have a lot of NPCs walking around my town... also, i met the zombie beyond the badlands... the mons are insanely strong.. i am curious if there are more places beyond that zombie land
There is, once you beat the game as in get to gym leader rep 8 you can go through the same came in the area with the zombie to fight the ROM devs team and they are all lvl 100
I need to show some love here. Im a dragon type master myself and this amazing. This game is so kool how you can play as a gym leader. I need to play this and also be kool id there was a elite four version.
I feel I should point out that doing that daily potion donations quest was really shooting yourself in the foot monetarily for minimal gain considering you could get the same reputation gains by grinding gym battles. You were really making this game a lot harder on yourself by not spending that money on your team, either by keeping the healing items for yourself or by spending the money on other things like TMs and various powerups.
The buildings in this game are definitely bugged. I was able to get it so that they were giving me about 360,000 dollars a day, but if I added a single building it would drop to like 4,000 dollars a day.
its because there is a multiplier that they use so you should follow the recommendations they give (the guy in front of the building) so you can keep a high amount constantly
Now what he doesn't explain but is a thing in the game is while you must stick with dragon type pokemon for the gym you can have two non dragon types so long as they can lurn the tm move that your given at the start of the game in my game I picked a fighting type but I was able to use geodude since he could lurn brick break same. With sandshrew well now a sandslash also they made it so pokemon like gangar or machamp who need to be traded to evolve can now evolve by levelling up with steelix it's the same but with a steel coat
Just as a quick tip for any Dark, ground or Fire type gym trainers (although really everyone could benefit from it). You can get a gift Incineroar that knows Icicle Crash. Have a strong physical attacker that knows, Dark, Fire, Ice and Fighting moves can pretty much carry you through the game.
@@philipjoves9061 so to the left of the first area (where you arrive on the boat) is the "Cave of Knowledge". It's a cave with some riddles on different sign posts. Answer the riddles and you unlock a little area with a house. In the house is a woman who'll ask a couple questions then give you a starter pokemon. The number you pick will represent the generation that starter is from. Then pick the answer that correlates to that type. Each starter will begin with a move they usually can't learn. Things like Rough play cinderace, head smash feraligatr, Icicle crash Incineroar, shell smash Blastoise.
I finished the game on day 50, with whole party at cca level 58... had the same issue with the new patch...thanks for showing the problem and solution here... also just to rub in the earthquake situation...I play ground gym so ive had unlimited Earthquake TM from day 1 :D Played the game with 7 pokemon combo Dugdrio (very OP), Sandslash (good one type typing), Golem (great against flying with Smack Down and Eathquake), Torterra (tank), Dragonite, Tyranitar, Wailord (dragon, dark, water types useful to switch it up in ground team...) and had a lots of fun. Did about 14 hours in the game. Loved it. When Im bored i might play it again one day with different gym type. Yea and I built up the whole town, and getting about 980 thousand a day... I think the biggest income comes from factories in the commercial district... just a tip :)
You just go back 1 release version (speaking from memory think the latest is 4.2.2 and you need 4.2.1 to get past the softlock), tho the dev rly should've put a hotfix out by now. It was fairly easy to google for it and I think the dev also has his own discord channel, in the end you can also ask there.
For any new players the building system doesn’t work at all the way the game describes it. The first building are multiplayer and the last building is a money maker. Place a shit ton of the first two and then the last one and you’ll be bringing in hundreds of thousands
Me personally I would try ghost 👻 type or Water 💧💦 type gym gotta have Gengar an my OG favorite Blastoise. Phenomenal video work King I really appreciate the dedication and effort you put into your content.🎉🎉❤
i downloaded this mod and i want to be an dragon type gym leader just like in this challenge, but i can find the dragonoid cave, could someone help me find it, like a link or something where to find the cave? cus i've been looking online but so far no luck sadly
Just make sure have more traditional buildings then factorys and now I cap money's every day. It adds total tradition building then multiples by factorys but if factorys outnumber traditionals, then it divides. Sadly mine isnt loading the champ either, so I need 4.2.1?
i played for 6 hours, beat the bad guy and then got kinda bored. the buildings dont really add anything to the experience which is too bad because building your own city was such a good idea but theyve been working on this project for years and never decided to make the buildings do..anything at all. you get some extra income, which seems random because one day i got 6k income predicted and the next day, after adding another building, it somehow went DOWN to 3k. So building buildings can increase revinue or it can lower it with no actual reason as to why. as fun as the idea is they give you a chansey battler which boosts all your pokemon so high that the game is no longer a challenge. so then you just run through it until you get to the next chapter of the game which starts off with you going from fighting level 35's to having to fight a level 70, which is the first time i had a pokemon faint. luckily all my pokemon were fully evolved dragons level 60 or higher so, easy enough. maybe the game gets harder. but since theres not much to do, as in, not much to buy, not much to experience. idk. the best part is going on vacation because thats where you find new pokemon, new enemies, and i assume new items and new buildings. neat game but after 6 hours I felt like I got enough out of it.
After making it to rank 2 or maybe 3 there's an eevee trainer back in the first area. You beat her and she'll gift you an eevee. Ralts is a fairy type starter so unable to find in the wild.
Also the money you get is calculated as Industry × Culture + Tourism. But if your culture is higher then it divides instead. So its actually most intelligent to do the 10k buildings more then the 25k buildings. Cause those are the Culture Buildings. I might have it a bit backwards fyi i havent touched the game in like 2 weeks and my memory is shit. But still. I know the 10k buldings are better to bulk up on.
