Oh yeah, Iguanodon were HUGE. I've stood in the cage among the skeletons in the Belgian Natural History museum and even held one of the toeclaws of one of them. It is... Mindboggling when you're standing next to them, the actual bones I mean, not replicas. You just feel the history eminating from them.

While you were scared of the Compies in JP2, I wanted one as a pet lmao

I like how the Switch "update" basically is just Wildcard being shamed by Neddythenoodle's Story videos and the Ark explorer or whatever was also Wildcard being by Neddythenoodle's Helena dinosaur diary info videos lol

I recently bought this for the Switch and I love the update. The game runs so much smoother now. I was having a hard time getting into the Switch version coming from the PC until the update. I get to play Ark in bed now lol.

I'm excited for this. Thank you for playing it and showing off the kids mode. The textures look so much better. The game play looks really stream lined and well ported. And the Kid's version even looks fun!!!

Something I noticed that I appreciate: when you started the "find the iguanadon egg" quest, then grabbed the guidebook piece, the quest timer paused during the animation.

Would definitely watch a Dinosaur Discovery series. Such a fun little tribute to the game!

Surprised this video would come out before GSG patches the heck out of this on the Switch. So many users lost and still losing stuff from this update/ "new port" which was taken from the xbox version. Unintentional rollbacks every 5-15 minutes and people losing their characters, builds, tames. Dino starvation "bug" and structure limit is pretty low....among a myriad of other problems with this currently.

Double press A to add things to an open hotbar slot. Press A then hold A to transfer a stack of items. The touch controls are actually kinda nice for dragging inventory around 😂

Dude. I literally JUST told my kids we would never get Ark for the Switch. Now I kind of want it. Mostly for Dino Discovery. Dammit.

If these controls are anything like PlayStation/Xbox, when you're in your inventory, you can get to the crafting menu by pressing R, instead of slowly moving the cursor up to the tab.

Okay, I’m not fully defending the PS4 controls cause I know there are other ways the hot bar could make more sense, but It actually works well…the first four hotbar controls are - left, up, right, down - followed by - L1+ square, triangle, circle, ex - because L1+ left etc. would put your fingers in a more odd position they moved to the shape buttons, we always put our most used tools/weapons on the directional buttons, and then the slightly less used on the L1+ buttons so it works really well, and similar to touch typing we know where all the console buttons are 🥰

I'm probably in the lower majority in saying as a console player, I can appreciate the loss of 2 items in the hotbar in exchange for a more simple quick select option. Im always finding myself pulling out the wrong item or having to look at what combination of buttons I need to push to select an item 😅. Personally, I think its a nice touch that the other consoles could benefit from. I might actually get this on the switch for my on the go gaming option 😁

Actually Iguanodon was not actually found globally, because many species of dinosaurs that are found all over the world were mistakenly placed into Iguanodon until very recently.

Xbox controls are really funky. You have ten slot so it's the D pad and then hold LB then it's A,B,X,Y or left and right on the D pad. It's kinda funny cause up and down on the D pad do different stuff if you hold LB. It's really weird. But you get used to it eventually.

I love how to “tame” a stego you have to bting her her child and then ride away and leaving her child. 🎉 yay

I never thought that syntax would play on the switch tbh.

I didn't really play dual analog stuff till I was a late teen/early adult. Whereas my 5-year-old has been able to play dual analog stick games since about age 2 1/2 - 3 years. I think a lot of it has to do with exposure and practice, like most muscle memory things. He has absolutely no trouble with any game that uses both sticks to move now. I honestly feel like he'd actually have more trouble figuring out using only the single one for both than he did in how to use both at this point. Kids these days are pretty advanced compared to even kids born 15-20 years ago, honestly. When you're exposed to that kinda stuff since day 1, it's a lot easier to learn and master it.

As someone who plays on PlayStation, we have ten hotbar slots and it's weird that they removed two of them for the Switch. If I had to guess (I don't own a Switch) it's probably physically a bit uncomfortable or difficult to hold the left shoulder button while using the D-pad

I got Ark on the switch years ago, and was disappointed with how it was.. Only having the island, not having the creative mode, and most improvements most other versions if had.. The case and the game has pretty much stayed in the same place collecting dust until now because they're finally improving it.
