As an Apple guy (now), I love hearing about positive experiences with the Windows/Android ecosystem. I keep one foot in Windows land (mostly because of gaming); I'm enjoying my (overpriced) 2023 Dell XPS 9530. It works ok with my iPhone, thanks to Phone Link, but nothing at the moment compares to my 16" M1 Pro, which is why I went back to iPhone (14PM). I loved my Galaxy Watch but prefer my Apple Watch 8, even if the battery on the Galaxy Watch absolutely crushes Apple's. All in all, consumers should want competitors to succeed since we win in the end.
@lvseka
@lvseka 9 месяцев назад
What's the point of competition if at the end of the day people still end up buying apple devices even when competitors have equivalent or at times better products, depending on the person that it. The truth is a lot of our purchase decisions and opinions are still based on fashion
@JimKanaris
@JimKanaris 9 месяцев назад
@@lvseka ... and habit. Competition is at the level of the manufacturer, which do take into consideration what competitors make. They don't want to eventually lose their customers, especially the sheep. Consumers habituated to choose one product over the other still win, albeit it indirectly. They get better products, even if maybe not the best.

@@lvseka I won’t buy a product from a different company just because they nailed it this time. I have a whole Apple ecosystem at home. Makes no sense to throw a „foreign“ device in there that can’t communicate with all the other stuff. They have to come up with good arguments to convince me. „You will save a couple of hundred money!“ is not a good argument btw. I don’t care about it that much. I like the ecosystem that I‘m used to, it works for me. I will not change anything because Samsony or whoever offers 5 more megapixels on a phone camera.
@lvseka

@@Dornavver Makes sense if you are just out there looking for an eco system. It depends on your needs. I've seen people who will insist on owning a MacBook even though the software they need to use to earn a living aren't on Mac. Not many are even aware of the ecosystem. We might be but for many out there, it's just the cool devices to have.

Quick point on the iMessage thing. Apple users do the same thing in Android groups. If you have a group entirely dedicated to Android users, messages will automatically switch to RCS which is basically our version of iMessage. Having one Apple user will break this though, so many Android users don't even know about this.

I can't agree more with all what did you mention. And because I am from Europe, so no stupid green / blue bubbles are around, I can do whatever I want. That's why I have an Apple laptop, Samsung phone and tablet and the buds from Nothing. And the freedom to change anything anytime.

So opting out of ecosystem advantages. It's frustrating there is no universal ecosystem. But it's not my fault. If you're not ecosystemed you're second class in productivity. You have to pick and go all the way. Once again not my fault but it is what it is.

They technically don't have to. They just need to implement RCS like the rest of the world and stop using old SMS/MMS protocol. This will at least allow people to share higher quality videos and pictures between platforms and keep it secure. Android would still be a green bubble but at least it won't suck. Lol

As the Windows mobile OS was dying, I switched to Android and entered the wild west rooting scene for about eight years. As OEM skins improved (after incorporating many of the features developed by the custom ROM community), I found the need to root phones diminish. At age 71, I decided to switch to iOS and ditched my OnePlus McLaren phone and Samsung Tab S4 for the 2020 SE and iPad Air Gen 3 in April 2020; I lasted four months before switching back to Android (Note 20 and Tab S). I found the iPhone UI to be too restrictive - even after jailbreaking (who thought mandatory upper left justification of apps and widgets was a good idea?) Because of how I use tablets, I didn't mind the software as much on the iPad, but thought the display and especially the sound were subpar. At anyrate, while I might occasionally engage in gentle joshing about the ovine nature of the walled garden inhabitants, I really do appreciate the integration of chip, software, and hardware in the Apple ecosystem (Google is trying to replicate this, but has a long way to go) and understand why most Apple users (including my wife - I'm in a mixed marriage) are happy with iOS. However, if one is looking for liberty, variety, and innovation (how long until Apple invents the flip/fold phone?), then Android is the choice I would recommend.

Couldn't have phrased this better myself. I'm a dual wielder. I'm actually drifting into the Apple ecosystem due to the hardware integration. But both Samsung (and, to a lesser extent, Google) have come miles in their own hardware integration. It's not quite as tight if you've got - as an example - a Pixel phone, and Galaxy watch, but it's getting there with their partnerships. The one area I think Android excels at over Apple is the notification paradigm. I don't know that I'll EVER get used to having to manually swipe down to see what notifications have popped up during my work day. And the logic Apple uses for grouping is slightly annoying. But, the small things, like copying a link on my iPhone and pasting it on my Mac, with no thought, is clutch.
@iclubsealz

Alright my fellow dual weirder, I believe the Android notification shade is blatantly superior. However, have you noticed that your always get the notifications first on your Apple devices? Sometimes I don’t even get them on my Android phone.

Great video as always. I love tech in general. I have been using Samsung phones since the galaxy s2 with its back the OLED display and it really just sucked me in. I have also been using the iphone since the 6. I have also used several other Android devices (HTC evo, palm pre, google pixel and lg V series). I think that Samsung is the Apple of Android personally. I dont have to switch as I have a S23U and Iphone 14PM. The only other apple device I have is the SS graphite 47mm apple watch to use when i use my iphone. I think that both ecosystems are great with their respective companies however the Samsung eco system works seamlessly with my gaming desktop and work station. I use mainly google drive and photos so I can access photos and files anywhere from any device. I will say the stock samsung gallery app is leagues better than the ios photo app. I will be getting (i know terrible reason and i dont suggest) the iphone 15pm solely for the titanuim body, upgraded cameras,thinner bezels and first and foremost USB C. I can finally rid my home of all the lightnening cables and have a universal cable now. All new products that I purchase have USB C. I recently sold my 12.9 inch ipad pro because the Tab S9 Ultra is suchh a beast and much easier to work with, multitask and my microsoft and office apps work much better on it. Luckily for me my friends and family is like a 55-45 split between the phones so group messaing on stock apps hasnt really been an issue at all. As for your statement about family sharing and stuff, both my kids have different phones and any time they request sharing or money or whatever the case may be, I am able to access it from any of my devices. It may just be app dependant on whatever you are using. But hats off to both companies. They can co exist lol they are just phones and tablets after all, just pick what suits you best. I will say that through all the years samsung has had much better offerings and sales than apple but on the other hand apple resale value is higher.

I was a die hard Android fan for many years. After I started using a MacBook, and then tried the rest, I can’t go back despite a good number of shortcomings in iOS in particular. It’s like you said about communicating from a Mac. Having everything there, I simply rarely have to pull my phone out during the day. And while the AirPods are indeed glitchy at times, they more than make up for it with the Pro and Mac’ insanely good transparency modes and noise cancellation, and the surround sound when listening to Apple TV based shows using the AirPods. I wish Apple created a Z Fold equivalent. I love the Z Fold, and it’s a single device I would happily replace both my phone and tablet with. But using a MacBook, and the family issues you referenced, make this at this stage; not enough for me to consider switching back.

My problem with the galaxy buds is the audio always seems to be delayed. I watch alot of videos on my phone via TikTok and RU-vid are delayed to the point where its annoying. I watched many videos trying to fix the issue but seems to not work and this is on multiple Android phones (Note 20 Ultra and S21 Plus)

If only one AirPod (or Beats earbud) connects: 1) Put them both back in their case and close the lid for a few seconds. 2)Open the case again.Take out the one that won’t connect and put it in your ear. 3) Wait for the chime. 4) Put the other earbud (the one that was working originally) in your other ear.

Great video!! Ive been back and forth with apple products and samsung products for some time now and ive used iphones for yearsssss. I bought the z flip 5 and im in love with my phone. It makes having a new phone fun again opposed to apples iphone every year being the same. Also recently got a tab s9 and its so fast and great at multitasking that im actually going to get rid of my ipad pro 11 inch with magic keyboard. I love the magic keyboard for ipads however the tab s9 is amazing for note taking the spen is soooo good!! Better than the ipencil in my opinion. Im going back to school in a few weeks and cant wait to use my samsung tablet in school. I agree with you on the macbooks they are better but im been using a surface pro and thats a great laptop also but dont see myself getting rid of my macbook anytime. I really hope apple opens up rcs messaging cause i dont like breaking up group chats as well!! Spot on video thanks!!

I use both, S22 Ultra as a work phone, and iPhone SE2 as personal. I have a 16" M1 Macbook Pro and an apple watch - and my wife uses Apple - we enjoy findmy and airdrop, etc. But don't make me give up the Samsung. I prefer Android Auto in my truck, and I have a big Samsung TV in my livingroom on which I can cast my S22 phone screen, or wirelessly use DEX. I would not want to choose only one system over the other!!

I have Apple TV, MacBook Air 15“, IPad Pro 12.9 and a 13 mini, so I am pretty stuck in the apple ecosystem. I tried a pixel 7a cause the fresh ideas of android hard and software is intriguing, but I quickly came back to my iPhone mainly due to Facetime with my family and the loss of all my password saved in iCloud. What did you do with your password sduring the experiment, is there any good way to transfer them to android?

I use a galaxy phone with a macbook air, and it works great! Im only using google apps, so stuff syncs between any device you have flawlessly. If you go full google software you have freedom to choose almost whatever hardware you want, be it from Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft etc. An ecosystem might sound cool but as a buyer you should really consider what you buy into and how it will affect in the long term. Like, what if your in the apple ecosystem and suddernly apple devices start to fall behind the competision, which i already does in some cases, what would you do then? All i say is that its risky to be brand loyal and lock yoursefl into some brand.

Why do you care so much about E-SIM? I don't understand this. I used to work in an AT&T store and every day we had people come into the store who had various problems that were fixed by getting a new SIM card. Physical SIM cards go bad all the time and the E-SIM eliminates this issue. Also I was able to switch my entire family over to a new carrier thanks to E-SIM without us all having to get together in person to get a new physical SIM card.

I’m excited about my upcoming challenge as well lol. Back in the day I used Samsung. Owned an Original Samsung, the S3, Note 5 and Edge 7. I ended up shattering my back glass and camera and I went to my carrier (at the time) and they offered me an iPhone 7 for $50 if I gave up my S7 Edge . I was in need of a new phone and I never tried it so I decided to bite the bullet. At the time I wasn’t really too familiar with Apple iPhone so I never owned an iPhone prior. At first it was a little rough but after a while, when the bumps were ironed out. The nice, smooth and ease-of-use experience of the iPhone 7 drew me in! I ended up buying AirPods later on and eventually upgraded to an iPhone XR and most recently my current iPhone 14 Pro. No ironically im back in the same boat!!! I was unfortunate to drop my iPhone 14 Pro and shatter the back glass so when I took it to my Carrier for a repair they now offer me a Z Flip 5!! It’s funny how everything went back around. I have bit the bullet and am now in the process of having a Z Flip shipped to me and now I have a couple days until I make the switch over again!

My Watch and Buds are Samsung, though, same for my beloved Tab S7+. For Windows? My Zephyrus G14 handles my gaming needs. I just bought my wife a 14 Pro so I thought I'd give her old iPhone 11 a whirl since the last iPhone I owned was a 4s. I've given it a few days but I'm switching back to my Samsung Note 10+. It comes down to screen size and scalability of text. Apple limits how big you can make text in apps and on System functions. My eyes have gotten worse as I get older and while I can still use the Note 10+ comfortable without glasses, I can't with the iPhone. Maybe I need to try out the 15 Max when it comes out.

I've never had an apple product, but very close to making the switch to the iphone 15 pro from the pixel 6 pro. I was so excited for the new pixel lineup when it launched 2 years ago with Google's CPU, but it has been the buggiest android phone I've ever had. I don't care about customization as much these days, I just want the phone to work when I need it to. Plus, top of the line android phones are always huge 6.7" slabs. They need more premium 6" choices.

Fantastic video. I for one used to be a die hard Android user but switched to Apple due to hard ware longevity and support. I also work in the wireless industry and I’m constantly helping people with their phones. I have to say that sadly majority of people who have damaged phones due to hard issues, or people who get so much add ware making their phones unusable seems to happen more often on android devices. Apple’s walled garden while having some annoyances really shines by protecting its users from most of the junk and adware that’s all over the play store. Apple in my opinion is far more secure than android. But by far the biggest reason I will probably never switch to android is the device support and hard ware longevity. Apples devices seem to last longer and are supported for far longer than most android manufacturers.

Man, I know so many people who are leaving the Apple Ecosystem lately. And then I see this video tonight. I have no update anything in years. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max that still works fine. And older Apple Watch that I despise because the sensors do not work with heavily tattooed people. And I have an iPad Pro from Procreate because I am an artist. But if Google ever got their Ecosystem up to par I would jump. It just isn't there yet. But I will keep holding out hope.

I’ve tried the Samsung eco system and though I haven’t tried the latest Samsung watch or grabbed the latest flip phone I had an S21 a couple years ago with a Samsung Active watch. My issue was the S21 was fairly slow (compared to my now iPhone 13 (not pro or max)). The android watch was painful on using it for voice or even texting, Android Auto was and continues to be unstable though I like some of the features, etc. So the main thing with me and why I stay with the Apple Eco System is 1) speed and 2) reliability using “standard” and not the highest end version of the phone (though the iPhone SE is slower and probably more like my S21)

I know the z flip isn’t the best Samsung phone but as a runner I have been eyeing that one for a long while as I am so sick and tired of keeping a phone on me. I know I can just run with my Apple Watch but if I’m out for a really long run I am just not comfortable doing that. Maybe it’s my age or that I tend to run solo. I would get the tablet in a second but the app I use on iPad for playing music (sheet music on piano) is only on iOS as far as I know and really has no complet that comes close. If that happens…..

As an Android user I've found specific ecosystem devices are good for certain tasks. I have an iPad mini because Samsung doesn't make a flagship 8 inch tablet plus I get access to my full mobile version of Adobe Photoshop ( which is a business thing between Apple and Adobe ) if I could get the full mobile version on android I wouldn't have gotten the iPad mini. I have however found the the iMovies App downgrade the quality of video if yo are editing simple videos. I'm referring to videos I import from my Android. Thankfully Samsung has improved their video editing app so I may upgrade my next tab to use their app. I'm also looking to get an iPad Air. when it comes to watches, I prefer the round design of the Galaxy watch however the Apple watch is designed as it is for information to be displayed in a better format. Reading text on an Apple watch is better than Galaxy watch however everything else is better plus Galaxy give you more watch faces. Everyone om iOS has the same exact set of watch faces. Finally when it comes to phone I don't see myself using iPhone. I love that I can personalize my phone in so many ways and all without adding any extra apps or icons. There is only 2 things iPhones has that I like. The dynamic island and when you rotate your phone to landscape it looks looks like a clock. The way I merge both ecosystems is that I do things through Google I'm I hope Apple will hurry up adopt RCS for chat ( especially in the US ) someone on iOS sent me a nice video however I messaged downgraded the quality
