I tell a Respawn dev what Apex Legends needs, this is his response! 

I spoke to a Respawn developer working on Apex Legends and I tell him exactly what I think the game needs, here are his responses. He is speaking mostly from his personal opinion and perspective on working on the game. I don't think I should have to say this but please respect the Respawn developers and don't harass them just because something you want isn't in the game.

I would love to be able to select my 3 favourite characters so that when someone selects my character and I'm distracted I don't end up playing with characters that I absolutely hate to play as.

Honestly i just want them to raise the level cap or add packs to level 500+. I only really use legend tokend once a season and they're uselese past that, yet you get nothing but them every level at max. Getting such a limited amount of packs every 3 months is just painful, I just want me heirloom shards.

Of all of these, an heirloom finisher sounds like a fantastic idea, it adds more to a character, but also allows a bit more public flexing

I thought hacking was bad in Apex until I recently played warzone I haven't had a single match were I didn't see someone tracking people through walls or 360 flipping locking on to people's heads I had a kill cam today we're some one shot 4 people before killing me all headshots and 2 we're behind a bush so no line of site to there heads

I definitely need that heirloom/apex pack tracker. Everytime I get an apex pack and open it I just hope it’s a heirloom, but ofc it’s a rare rarity banner for a legend I don’t use or a white gun skin for the longbow or mozam.

I think from a retention viewpoint, the two biggest things I'd want are more progression last level 500, and an actual consistent use for legend tokens. (Something you can always use them for)

I would love a gold skin that you could get for a weapon after a certain amount of ranked kills so that the Grindy players have something to look forward to Edit: I’m picturing something similar to overwatch with the gold weaponry from ranked

something to note about the arm pump speed as you put it. When walking and running your arms tend to move opposite to your legs at the same frequency. So if two people or two legends in this case are moving the same speed then whoever has the longer stride will have arms that appear to move slower

I wish you asked about something like character levels or something like that. You know level up a character and get stuff for them to make a goal for the game or levels for weapons where you get skins or kill trackers with a specific gun.

Two things, First this was absolutely amazing please make this a series. To hear the ideas and to hear some of the issues is amazing. I loved every second. Second thing if this did become a regular thing (Which It should honestly PLEASE WEEKLY SERIES or Biweekly) can ya'll discuss big issues as well. I know as a player to hear thier point of view would be insightful and would allow us to gain clarity on some of these issues. It would ultimately bring the community and dev's closer and that would do nothing but bring positivity to the community.

Something I would love to see would be a conversion of shield cells to shield batteries. You could craft shield batteries at the crafting station, put in 3 or 4 cells and it gives you a battery. Too many times I've had 25 cells and no bats.

They should make it where u can prestige like u hit 500 then u go to bronze level like ranked then it resets ur Apex packs u got through the levels before u got to 500

One thing I would love to see is legend based skydive trails that you can unlock like for revenant if you use your totem 1000 or 2000 times you unlock revenants skydive trail and all it does is add a shadow effect to the current default trail

tbh really dig the idea of a pack tracker, saying as someone who has played since day three, doesn't have money to buy packs, has been lvl 500 for a /long time/, but doesn't have a single heirloom :^) but also do see where he's coming from when dunking that idea. anyway really nice video concept and super good execution! enjoyable to watch n listen

For the issue about the P2W r99 and flatline skin, if it's a pain to change all of the skin models, why not just release a new "factory issue" skin with that iron sight that would be available to everyone? So people who think that it is unfair can use a boring black skin for free or something

I feel you asked a lot of good questions, but important ones like 1. Quicker heirloom release 2. Endless battlepass instead of standard 90 days. 3. More legends trackers, and if missed event ability to purchase through store. 4. Cross-progression, or atleast the ability to get old skins from previous battlepass/events. Just my opinion.

(Dogshit servers, hitreg/constant no regs, inconsistent animation timings WHY THE FUCK DO I NEED TO SPIN MY WINGMAN BEFORE I CAN SHOOT IT, p2w skins, ranked system rewarding rats, deadsilence/all audio p much being mono, team balancing, sometimes 0 or missing teammates without no filling, matchmaking/queue times/adding warmup lobbies while queueing/queueing while in firing range, controller looting, GOLD SHEILD SWAPS JFC, probably 10 other issues that i can't think of rn.) ik this would never actually happen tho, cause they'd think it would lose them money. Which is just a corporation being dumb as fuck... Playerbase would go stonks from all the fed up players coming back, and the "They fixed Apex" publicity. PS i'm sure that many of these things wouldn't still be issues if it weren't for EA. Remember, bois a lot of the time devs don't get to pick what they work on. Usually the publisher tells the devs what to work on. We should be giving Activision a friendly nudge in the right direction, using only our kindest words ;) Not harassing the devs, who just want to give us the best game that they can but can't deliver that due to their higher ups being ignorant, money hungry gentlemen*.

It's one thing to give feedback to a dev. It's another thing for a dev to take that feedback and actually cooperate. Actions speak louder than words when there's actual change. Never forget that.

What if respawn gave everyone these tickets that can be earned from events and stuff, you would get 1 free from just playing the game, but you can choose a legendary skin with that ticket, because not everyone has a lot of crafting metals. Besides people might buy the skins also for the looks and stuff, this does not include any skins in the shop only from the weapons and skins and stuff.

You could make ironsights customizable so user can choose what sight they want on each specific gun based off current skins for that gun.

I really like the heirloom stuff, like some of the older heirlooms would really need an update or I would just love to have another inspect to my bloodhound heirloom since all the newer once have like 3 inspects. Otherwise, finishers will make heirlooms cooler and more worth it if you ask me as long as they’re not much shorter than the other ones because no pay to win pls.

Honestly based of the last question and answer. I would expect some sort of prestige system involving the legend tokens, character lore and a mixture of skins and decisions. My idea would be to drop the cap back down to 250/300 and allow people to "prestige" their account. Give all characters lore based tiered challenges. (Example: Lifeline is combat medic. So first tier res ~300 teammates. 2nd their get ~300 kills. Ect Ect) During the prestige, which players use 20k legend tokens for, give the user an option to choose to prestige a character and/or gun. Then when you prestige give them out crazy things like heirloom skins or a special heirloom tick that's has an increases percentage based on how far into the character challenge you got. Create heirloom skins, voice lines, taunts, sprays(maybe animated sprays), and finisher for the characters so each prestige you get one. Then give out lore based charms as well. To bring it all around in my example if you were doing mirage. The 1st tier would be like ~ " old friend" : use decoy 5k times. 2st tier ~ "goodbye old friend": bamboozle 5k players. Tier 3 "new family" : use invisible res to res 5k teammates. Tier 1 prize: lore based charm + random low end heirloom item. Tier 2 prize: lore charm + mid grade heirloom item. Tier 3 prize. Lore charm + high grade heirloom item + loot tick with higher chance of getting heirloom and or make heirloom shards fractional. If I did tier two say I would get for example the bathroom lounge keys as a charm. Then say like an animated holospray where you see mirage sneaking across it and he looks back to tell his decoy(or is it) shhh let's go and then you see him go off screen(holospray screen) to see another mirage show up and repeat you kinda get the idea. They already have heirloom banners and quips. Then if anything make those items use legend tokens at a crazy amount like 25k an item.Just gotta go deep in the bag of creativity.

Fix for the skins, drop a look alike variant flatline skin like the season 4 battle pass on the store but make it so you can buy it with the red currency (I don’t remember the name) or crafting metals

R99 skin from s7 was also pay to win ( level 100and 110 )

I'd wish they add (mirage) passive to recover banners or pick up teammates with decoy with the same prompt like lifeline so yes you would send it up in straight line or half to keep conscious of your steps by controlling decoy itself. (Loba) recover banners but also passive if placed around respawn beacon to respawn after holding. (Lifeline) to drop drone while Down And recover yourself since it doesn't work even if you pre drop it.

Can we actually have different or lower prices for the heirlooms when it comes to different countries? Because in some countries, their currency is much smaller than US Dollar, which turns out the heirlooms are very expensive.

Worth noting on heirloom finishers: most heirlooms are bladed weapons, and one dev mentioned before that finishers can't be too violent to not get the game an M rating, so revenant hacking into somebody with a scythe would be badass but probably too violent to include

with the heirlooms it should be a special event around that time of the year for the different holidays!! that would be cool and a liitle different.

15:50 my take on the heirloom counter is kind of like a percentage thing. So like if you’re on a brand new account and open your first pack, you have a 1/500 or 0.002% of getting the heirloom. As you continue to open packs, your chances increase 1/400 (0.0025%), 1/300 (0.003%) etc. so it would be nice if as you opened your packs you simply just saw the percentage chance of actually getting once. So once you’ve opened 400 packs you’ll finally start to see a 1/100 (1%) chance, slowly going up. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense lol.

I want to stop being in Diamond, Masters, and Pred public lobbies when I am Bronze 1 and level 68. I don't feel like that's too much to ask. If season 10 doesn't get better, I'm quitting apex after playing since season 1 on PS4 and just switching to computer. Can't learn to play on pc in these lobbies. It's not fun anymore.

Kandy: I don't know anything about game dev, but I think it would be easy Well you thought wrong you cannot copy and paste, you would to change every single occurrence of the old r-99 model in the files to the new one. Also the r-99 and the flatline have to look a certain way in order to be accurate in the lore. Good vid tho

For the first question about the flatline skin. I would just remodel the pay to win skins and model in a way so it looks like the default iron sights
