Personally I feel that meleeing is really fun in this game, and the fact that it's not entirely useless doesn't make it a joke when you're going against someone with a gun. Yes it can be used to troll but nerfing it for that is the same as making it harder to crouch because of t-bags. Don't change it guys!

Yeah personally I can't stand when I'm out aiming someone in a close range 1v1 or when I land and they have slightly better ping than me and they can just punch me 3 times in the time I can reload/punch them once, it's so infuriating and anti-fun/skill. Also the melee "aim assist" is so inconsistent alot of the time I see my fist literally touch the dude and it doesn't damage him, but then I'm standing behind some guy who's punching my friends knocked body and he just does a full 180 lock on with the punch or slides across half the fucking room, shit makes no sense.

Boom's scenario about losing a 1v2 melee punchout is just never going to work out. No matter what the melee damage is, you will always lose that given that you output half the total damage of your 2 opponents. (Unless you reduce melee damage so much that it takes half a minute to down somebody getting punched by 2 people, potentially giving your teammates time to come help you, but at that point, melee is just useless and might as well be removed from the game.)

I guess the idea is that like with any damage, the longer it takes to kill you the more opportunity there is to escape or be rescued. I think Kandy's point about shields being added kind of addressed that though. Gone from four hits to five. Same with Res shields. That's a lot more hits you can potentially survive. I can certainly see an argument for dropping damage to 25 or rescuing the stun effect though. Still useful as a finisher and last resort but much less chance of being able to beat someone in a fire fight.

This was incredibly insightful and a very interesting video! I found the developers input and insider information to be very amusing and captivating, honestly. Not trying to sound all poetic about it, it was just really really cool. I liked the questions proposed by Kandy and Boom and the back-and-forth with Brian. I'd love to see him come back from time to time! Get him more comfortable within the group. He's also not that bad at Apex! Seems to keep up, or do better, a good amount of the time.

Always thought you got kill leader by how quickly you were to kill enemies, not by how much kills you had. At least that’s what I’ve seen from experience. I’ve been and also missed being kill leader with 3 kills and the only difference I’ve noticed was the fact I either downed an entire squad or killed three enemies (regardless of same squad) and how fast I could do it. Could be entirely wrong though, and probably am.

I was wondering, since Brian is a dev and comes up with a lot of the ideas going into Apex, have they ever thought of adding an extra supply crate like the blue lifeline ones? For example a black one with the orange bird symbol from season 8 that has grenades in the extra compartment for Fuze. Or even letting Loba “steal” from the extra lifeline compartment.

I think it’s hilarious that they actually tried the mimic box idea, although I do agree that it would probably be a bit too frustrating. And in regards to punching, I thought the same thing where they maybe should nerf the punch lock-on, but Brian has a point about it whiffing Bering frustrating so idk. Either way I don’t think punching is a huge deal, at least rn.

I feel like with weapon buffing and nerfing, I think that when a player says “this weapon is overpowered” or “this weapon is so bad” other players will agree and it will become a big thing but really the weapon is just a regular weapon and not bad or overpowered.

My idea for a animal legend: A character who ran around in armadillo armor. The tactical would be able to roll around in a ball not sure about the alt but the passive would be to have extra armor

Only thing I hate about punching is those few extra steps they get on lock on it makes it impossible to run away from, I was chased and punched to death quite a few times so I only main octane if I want to drop where everyone does.
