I test drove a VinFast VF8 in Cary NC today!
Wow, what a very cool car. They are opening a manufacturing plant here in NC. So excited to see manufacturing coming to my area. Might be a great place to work.

The ADAS is actually very good. It saved me a few times when changing lane with a car approaching at a higher speed: it led me back to my own lane. Another time, it took me to the next lane to avoid a car's drifting into my lane!

I owned Vinfast VF8 in California since July 2023, I am so happy and love it. It had everything I needed. Service is top notch. Trust me, You'll not be disappointed. It's very fast so hopefully you will not get a speeding ticket.

I drove the VF8 and eVF34 for 2 months in Vietnam. They are both pretty good. Everything seemed great and smooth. Seats are very comfortable. Way more comfortable than the Mercedez E280 that I drove for only 1 day because the seat was killing my back big time. The Eco trim doesn't have the Sport Mode. The Sport Mode on this car already way too fast and sensitive to me. I know the Plaid is a lot quicker but it's pointless because nobody is gonna drive that fast.

It's so beautiful, if there are a few small errors it's obvious, a ten year old Tesla has many errors so there's nothing to hesitate if you have the money.

I would advise you to do further research some of the errors are not small, potential life threatening, of course most complaints are from vietnamese people so not understanding is a bit hard.

@@trilingualkid what killing error ? I'm vietnamese and haven't seen any dangerous error , majority of error are soft ware that can be fix . Do remember Vietnam have 2 million vietnamese anti govt people whom lost in Vietnam war working for the french and American and they still bitter about losing the war .they will smear and talk shit about anything made in Vietnam or Vietnam it self cause they still a sore loser . Similar to some american in the south bitter about losing the civil war

I want to see Vinfast succeed in the United States! Hopefully when the plant in North Carolina gets built, the U.S made vehicles will have had all the problems identified in the early VF8's completely resolved. I am tired of seeing nothing but SUV's. Our roads are already clogged with suv's. We don't need any more.

8:00 frontplate is mandatory back in Nam so I've never seen a VF8 without a frontplate before, those brackets probably came stock from factory

Tôi chưa từng đi xe vinfas nhưng tôi rất thích kiểu giáng của nó. Ở Việt Nam đã có khá nhiều xe vinfas chậy ngoài đường, trên internet đôi lúc đăng những video vài vụ va chạm tai nạn giữa xe vinfas và xe của hãng khác...thật kinh ngạc chưa từng có tài xế lái xe vinfas nào phải bỏ mạng và sau va chạm xe vinfas thật sự cứng cáp độ an toàn rất cao so với nhiều xe khác. Đó là điều tôi ấn tượng

Đúng rồi, con econig của huyndai có 1t6 thì phải trong khi vf8 nặng hơn 2t5. Theo định luật bảo toàn năng lượng thì khi va chạm bạn biết bên nào nặng hơn nó sẽ lợi như thế nào rồi đó. Nặng hơn thì tốn năng lượng hơn để di chuyển, nhưng nó sẽ giúp cái ví của bạn tốt hơn khi có va chạm. Bảo vệ cả người trong xe cũng tốt hơn

I am going to do some comparisons I have discovered, please comment on any inconsistency as things do change It is my understanding that in real world driving (car and driver) it is 210 Mile on the VF8 and 220 Miles on Model Y. The VF8 has larger motors higher torque and the VF8 is upgrading their range for 2024 to 264 miles. The VF8 is different and much better looking than the Y. The Vinfast allows for Android Auto and Apple Car play unlike the Tesla. (some of us like Waze and other apps). Look at the steering wheel controls on the model Y vs the VF8 much better control on the VF8 The Vinfast allows you to move the AC vents quickly by like a normal car unlike the Tesla. Where are the blind spot monitor lights on the mirrors in the Tesla? No heads up display on the model Y, but a nice color one on the Vinfast VF8 Vinfast has a 10 year 125,000 mile BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty, Including the Battery. What is it on Tesla? We all know the prices Tesla charges its customers. The VF8 integrates with Alexa for playing music directions etc. Why is that not on a Tesla? There are a lot of decent cars hitting the market, I encourage each person to research and go see for themselves. Not sure why so many people bash this car when they have never even seen it in person.

My wife likes it, the car felt very solid and had a nice look and ride height to it. Love the warranty. We have not decided yet. We are not in a rush.

They got clueless salesmen selling these cars. This guy had no idea what he was talking about. The charger that comes with a car is not a "spare tire", it can be used on a 220 outet and it would charge the car fully overnight. Its a level 2 charger. A standard outlet would add about 4-5mph so about 40-50 miles added in 10 hours.

I hope Vinfast have learned from making the mistake of releasing their cars before proper r&d. The salesman needs to know specifics on charging details. And the video is too long, as it needs to be edited down to approximately 10 minutes, instead of mostly being in 'real time'. I like the look of the car.

I didn't really drive at that much. It definitely felt heavy. But was so nice when I stepped on it. I thought the seats were comfortable, Wasn't a fan of the dashboard. Inside was rather plain, but holy cow outside was really nice and it had some really nice features. Even the back seat are vented i'm told. With all the incentives I think it's something to look at.

I have been driving the VF8 City Edition (shorter range, 200 miles) since March 2023 in San Diego. Still love the car after 13K miles. Minor problems the first 2 months but with constant software updates, the car is very good at this time. Get compliments everywhere I go, even from strangers. They told me from the back, it looks like a Porche. Well, it was designed by Pinnifarina so no surprises there! Service is top notch. They come to me and give me a loaner when needed. I don't have to go anywhere. Who else does this, I wonder.

Type 1 issues cause inconvenience(s) that do not impact the use of the vehicle. Eligible customers will receive USD 100 for each Type 1 issue they experience. Type 2 issues render a vehicle inoperable. In addition to providing roadside assistance, VinFast will provide eligible customers with USD 300 for each Type 2 issue they experience. Type 3 issues require a repair time of more than three days. From the fourth day onward, eligible customers will receive USD 100 for each additional day that their vehicle is being serviced by VinFast.

48K USD I think it is really hard to sell more in the market. i just ask all you guys here VF8 48K Model Y 44K Which one you will buy? Ask yourself honestly. Model Y range 455 km VF8 range 399 km First of all, VF has to defeat Tesla in the US market by price. If VF can't do this, VF can't be successful in the US. This is my honest comment. In the US market only Tesla domniated and other EVs are selling sky high prices. So VF still have a chance if VF can offer the prices far lower than Tesla. I will buy VF8 if the price is 30K.
