Thank you Tom for what seems like a very honest appraisal of this car. It seems that it has been released ahead of its time and far too many things do not work properly and the quality is not there for it to be a marketable EV product. It is a prototype that should not be sold to customers yet. I will continue to buy Mercedes Benz! I have test driven this car a couple times and was interested until real world problems came up. Blinkers did not work on the Canadian model I drove, either!
I think this is the only owner review i have seen. Most reviews seem to be either by obvious paid shills for Vinfast, or takedowns by one or two industry experts who might be pickier than a buyer. Tom is proud of his car but honest about it. Interesting that the real world range in this standard model (not City or Eco) comes out to 192 miles or so, which is pretty poor, especially when you consider that people tyoically don't like to charge past 80% or discharge past 20% on a road trip. (BTW, Vinfast quotes a 10-70% recharge time, which makes me wonder if charging slows sharply over 70%).
