Omg! The recovery boat! I had the exact idea years ago when I built the same thing out of blue 2” insulation board and a cox .049. I cut it out to look like a big pickle fork and the motor is mounted up high. It goes at a brisk walking pace. I thought I had an original idea, that’s cool to see u have one too!
Great test report. I like your attention to detail, both in the model and the data acquisition. It looks like you need a bigger lake with the speeds you're going! I used to run and race nitro boats in Washington State back in the '70s and '80s. Mine were never as fast as yours, but I was able to set a couple of A-class straight-a-way speed records. The electric boats were just starting to appear with NiCad batteries back then. We clocked one boat at over 100 mph in back-to-back timed runs. Possibly the fastest electric boat of any kind or size at that time. One thing to consider; we always made sure the trailing edge of our super-cavitating, prop blades was squared off with sharp corners to get clean water separation.
Thank you. Very interesting. A piece of history. Yes, the electrics of today are amazing. I do file the trailing edge flat, maybe should do a bit more, make sure the corners are sharp. I will look at them...
Very cool video! Very interesting! I love the "Recovery craft"! I need to make one!! I am on lake Erie, I have flipped my boats in the surf often! Good luck!!
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Marshall Vincenzo Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Some nice runs. Thanks for videoing the recovery. I see what you mean. What cell are you using in the recovery boat. 2 or 3? Still better than swimming. Lol Can't wait to see what you come up with for the new recovery boat. Thanks for the videos.
It's the stock 7.2 volt Ni-MH battery, 1,100 mAh. I actually had the rescue boat run out of battery pushing against the wind once, had to swim anyway. Not far, but still not good...
Hey Sam, how are you running your turn fin? any angle either forwards, backwards, or slanted inwards? I can't seem to get my UL 19 over 65mph without blowing over. I have only just started tuning it though. It has the stock prop and I have an Octura 442 coming to try out.
Sam Hallstrom hi mate I’d like to know what’s the name of that thing you use to bring your boat back and where about did you get it from if you don’t mind me asking you sure
Also, at 70 mph plus, it's running on the razor edge of blowing off every pass. I would say balance first, then sharpen. I've tested before and after polish, very little difference in speed that I could tell anyway...
@@chilly7261 70mph is fast.. very good that you can prime your own props.. I like the octura V940/3 or V942/2 and bigger, theyre for outriggers and ive watched them at 180kph on 4s lipo.. I do like the props you are showing, i watched a vid of the fastest single prop genesis rc boat on youtube and he used a dasboata 1915 if i remember
@@chilly7261 i am not too sure, more trial and error, i think for 6s and a 3674 2200kv motor in a rigger a octura v942/3 would have a massive powerband at a higher rpm..
Triad to laugh your second run you did which how much room you have out there it really looks like. And looked at your second run and said my God that looks like maybe 65 maybe a little more didn't look good so I had to laugh when I saw a 69
"Triad to laugh your second run you did which how much room you have out there it really looks like" Did you just have a stroke? That was complete gibberish.. Seriously, you might need a doctor..
Need to adjust prop strut the boat skipping all over the place. Not really a good test session as boat not properly trimmed. Move batts forward and or adj prop strut.
Oh... Uh, ok. Thanks for the great trim tips. Maybe if I take your advice I break 70mph with a ProBoat UL-19... Wait a minute, I am in the rare 70mph plus air with this boat...
