They're excellent, never owned one but a mate had one years ago and it was impressive for its cost at the time(20 years ago ish), they're probably desirable and expensive now i guess...
I had the privilege to record at the 571 Studio in Zurich multiple times, was always a very special expecience. Not exactly cheap so it doesn't really fit within the video theme, but i comment this because it's nice to see that i'll be able to record nice music with bearable prices
One of the things I appreciate most about your videos is you keep them clean. So many other artists’ videos are full of expletives and foul comments ect. Thank You!
As someone who does this his self I have to say that that was totally amazing and then going around and working in other Studios was even more better idea those sounds are great and I just can't say enough good things about what you just did
My very first amp was a Peavey Decade (10 watts 1x8" speaker), which looked similar, but was even more basic than the small Peavey in the third studio (@4:29). Powerful flashback for me! 😁
4:35 That's a Peavy Envoy 110 Teal Stripe. A smaller version of the Peavy Bandit 112 Teal Stripe. Which when combined with the Boss HM-2 is the setup used by both Dismember and Entombed back in the 90's.
I recorded a demo of Duffy "Mercy" in my living room in a little town in Allgäu with a Sony laptop, a Behringer audio interface and a Line6 Pocket Pod, no IRs, no plugins and the sound of the guitar was amazing! Today you should give not for granted that cheap equipmemnt sounds bad. The other pleasing experience was with the Behringer GD21 which I modded changing a pair caps and the IC and it was killer!
I love your videos in particular, generally speaking I don't give any heed or attention to any "reviews" by RU-vidrs when it comes to music gear, but with your videos I enjoy your reviews cause generally speaking you prove the point the the problem often isn't the gear, it's the reviewer, you prove clearly that good technical ability can make anything sound good.
I had a V Amp way back in the day (was first multi fx board I had) and tbh I really liked it. It wasn't as good as a multi fx pedal, but it sounded awesome.
Of course it worked great with the VT amp. The Valvetronix amps are some of the most underrated pieces of gear out there. I've Had My VT100X for a decade now and it's still my go to practice amp just because it sounds great for what it is. Have had Vypyr, Spider IV and V, and Katana and Vox just really nailed it with getting the tube feel via their hybrid circuitry. I will argue that my Line 6/Bogner hybrid is up there when you are used to using it, but it took a lot more time and work to get it dialed whereas the vox is just butter to work with. Great mix though.
😅 nice. Whats about a Project named "Cowworks" 😂 I think doesnt matter where you play or recording. It would sound great. Random german word today could be Kuhstall.... Rock on... I am gonna practice... Just made a break 🤘🏼🎸
Came out great! It takes a ton of talent to execute it in post production and mixing. You can record with minimal budget IF you already have the DAW, interface and software, plus the skills make the recordings sound good.
Ryan Trahan, what? I've watched this guys video about distance running like 5-6 years ago... [Did a search...] Oh wow it's the same guy and his channel is huge and interesting! And thanks for the cheap gear experiment too!
Great results, no doubt two huge factors were your skill as a musician and your skill mixing, without those the best environment ever would not help! This is why mere mortals (like myself) should practice , practice , practice and learn to mix! Im of to practice ;)
CONTENT IDEA.... hey bro, brother, your style. Your great . My idea for content is you and a few other accomplished guitarists each select a beginner and teach them the best you can over the course of 3 months and at the 3 month point each accomplished guitarists and their student play against the others and their students and take a vote on who can teach shredding better. And I would like to volunteer as a test subject lol. I'm a beginner ,I can play a few riffs but still use wrong fingers even still hold the pick wrong( I use middle finger and thumb . Anyway ,get back to me if your interested . And Of course lessons would be online.....
I love to record all of my acoustic guitars in my master bathroom. The way it sounds is incredible. It's a VERY wet room (pun intended). It's reverb sound makes even a Martin Backpacker sound really nice.
I spend hours trying to make things sound great and it always feels like it sounds... meh, then this man comes along and uses whatever he finds and makes great music! What a lad
The biggest difference in sound with different amps is on electric guitars with distortion. Acoustic usually sounds pretty nice no matter what amp that is used as long one stays away from distortion. Mesa mark iv, Mesa Dual Recs, Marshall JCM 800's, and Peavey 5050's are usually pretty aswesome amps if you are into metal and pretty heavy rock stuff.
Very inspiring for me as I’m trying to do some recording for the first time!! I also just purchased Clockworks, Memories and Fuego, really enjoyed listening to them!
I was unable to locate any of the 4 studios you used, using the map you provided, which can only mean one of two things, my geography skills aren't as sick as I thought OR, you mislabeled these studios either deliberately or accidentally. I'm voting for the latter.
