the only bad thing is the price. shanghai is the rich city of china but even then the overall cost of living is pretty low and people make a wage that reflects that. syd asking if the fish was 40 usd or rmb actually makes sense because you could get pretty good fish for 40 rmb. the average affluent tourist could probably afford it, but man that's like a fortune for the locals and it's pretty evil
that rice hotdog is a good lesson btw for anyone traveling. If you're in a different country and there's food that looks not tasty, but is very popular, it will taste amazing
They’ve found their calling for sure, I never really pegged either of them for foodies but their food/travel content has been really fun to watch. 100% would just watch vlogs of them trying different foods as they (along with OTV) go around the world experiencing different cultures!

@@eossoon I assumed you thought China banned Winnie the Pooh by your surprise of its merchandise being sold. I’d like to clarify a ban and censorship is very different. Yes im aware of the many censorship attempts the CCP has imposed on ‘Winnie the Pooh’, but in reality they have no care of the media type or character, so long as you poke fun at Xi Jinping, you will be censored. It just so happens that Chinese netizens linked Pooh to Xi which resulted in a censorship of the memes, NOT Pooh itself. The west then took this story and spun it (as they always do) to make it seem more than it really is. There is no ban. Winnie the Pooh can still be viewed and talked about in China, and their merchandise still get sold as shown in the video. Regarding Christopher Robin, no, they did not ban the movie. They denied the movie’s official release into China, like they have been doing for many other foreign films due to their 34 foreign movie quota yearly rule or something. No reason was provided, so you CAN speculate that it was because of Pooh, but in the end nobody knows. The citizens can still view the movie through websites and whatnot.

I remember going to Shanghai Disneyland 7-8 years ago, waited 4 hours to ride on the rollercoaster only for it to shut down for maintenance🥲. The sheer amount of people there could've easily exceeded the population of my entire city😅

@@thunderryu0494i would also agree with everything you’ve said, but i believe that Lotso is so hyped up in china is because of how its a cuter character compared to others, like how bears or pandas are so popular in china. also chinese companies will buy the cheaper rights to certain characters and produce insane amounts of products just featuring the one trademark in this case lotso happened to be the one they got from toy story, making it extremely well liked

They could’ve made the alien fruit pizza rather than a regular pineapple pizza. The guys sleeping on the bench reminds me of when I went to Disney Land (LA) and fell asleep at every bench. Half the time I was either sleeping on some random bench or sleeping on one of the rides. I fell asleep on the ‘It’s A Small World’ ride but even in my sleep, I was still being haunted by the damn song. At least it was the most comfortable ride to sleep on ig 😅
it's all marketing. ppl in chinese social media just like whatever seems cute. toy story isn't big enough in china for lotso to have had this level of impact, and the lotso craze only started in the recent few years. i doubt people even know what lotso was in his franchise. but hey, cute strawberry colored bear. there's also this character called linabell from duffy and friends (ive never heard of this character or series ever) that got super popular for no particular reason.
