I Tested TIKTOK SHOP vs AMAZON identical products 

Sorry. Don’t agree with the even score for the glitter dress. The pink TikTok dress is and looks poor quality. It may be useful as a Halloween costume.

That TikTok dress looked cheap. I wouldn’t have worn that one out. The Amazon dress was definitely the win on that one.

With the curling iron I don’t think it was really fair because you used two different attachments. You should’ve used the same one on each side.

It’s not always about the price it’s about the quality. Just because something is cheaper doesn’t always guarantee that it’s better products.

The quality of both of the first dresses is so different; honestly they both are pretty but the fabric and stitching of the blue is so much better than the pink. I would rather pay for the Amazon dress if I knew there would be such a big quality difference between the two dresses

I like how you changed the light of your hallway to pink for the products from TikTok and changed it to blue for the Amazon products. It's a really nice touch! :)

As someone who worked at Amazon, I can tell you these are just bulk-produced items that got sent to any big company willing to handle them. The ones missing stuff or without proper packaging were most likely customer returned items that were sent back to the originally seller to do with whatever they deemed. A lot of sellers will simply resell them "as is" whereas Amazon itself goes through a damage/return process. A lot of the time sellers will dump their products at warehouses and refuse to handle any returns or damages or even refuse to take them back (I've seen products sit for 9+ months), but usually Amazon will gather returned or damaged items and ship them back to the seller if there are issues. It's a headache with drop-shipped and mass produced items tbh. An incredible waste of everyone's time, money, and energy imo.

I don't really get why you ACTUALLY put the lashes on ALL the head's eyes, instead of just doing two heads and divide the number of lashes that came in the packages by the number of lashes that would take to do two eyes...

The Amazon curler should get the point. It just looks better and it didn’t even bother with the wand that doesn’t do anything. I also think the Amazon mirror looked better.

First dresses.. Common one is way better lol. The pink one is lacking so much compared to the blue amazon one.

Amazon is always going to win for me because the customer service and return process is so easy. Also they replace missing packages no questions asked. I like the peace of mind.

Okay, nitpicky, but the scientist in me is upset: The phone charger test wasn’t really fair. What are the relative strengths of the batteries in the different phones? Had one been dead longer than the other?

Am I the only one who was skeptical on the charger results? Batteries wear down differently, so using two different phones isn't exactly fair. 😭 I would've preferred seeing the same phone for both and timed, though I know it'd take longer to test those products.

As a user of digital cameras , that extra battery comes in handy! I don't bring my camera anywhere without have at least 2 extra, charged batteries with me.

I don't think the curling iron is the fairest test when you use two different barrel types, especially since you are far more experienced with the straight barrel than the bubble style barrel that you've struggled with before. I appreciate all the hard work you and your team put into these videos, though.

didn't really agree with the points. if one product is $50 and the other is $25, but I don't enjoy what I get for the $25, that is 25 wasted. not 25 saved in my opinion.

I’m sorry but the fact that hope was so surprised with the “shipping cost more than the item” is so funny to me as a Canadian cuz that’s literally everything all the time for us. $5 dollar product? $15-20 shipping and then customs on top of that!

Something to consider, since Amazon is guilty of this, too, is that when businesses like these try to get a hold on the market, they will lower their prices for the same products to try and get people into their service over the ones they already know and drive other online retailers out of business, so I definitely wouldn't put it past TT. Amazon famously has done this for medication and books, and once they got what is essentially the monopoly on the online store/shipping market, the prices went waay back up, and now they can charge whatever they want since it's one of the only places you can get stuff online.

The biggest advantage of Amazon for me is how easy it is to return items. I'm way more willing to give something a try from Amazon because I know I can return it with no cost and no hassle.

Fun fact, formaldehyde is commonly used to treat and preserve new clothes. Same as what the mortician will use to preserve Nanna. Always wash before wearing 😬 ❤

Bro TikTok just steals the ideas that amazon has and changes the price to make you want to buy it more than amazon.

Fun fact: TikTok Shop is the one who gives a discount not the actual shop itself that's why some of the items were cheaper like Halara one.

That blue Amazon dress was way better on you, it cinched your waist and the top was way prettier. The pink one looked loose and ill fitting. I don't like Tik Tok, way too old for it (i'm 60), i prefer Amazon hands down. Love your videos Hope, your amazing!

I’d rather shop with Amazon because you can get a refund for the overpriced items but not a refund for the tiktok shipping

Just one word of caution about TikTok shop (I still buy from it, but do so with this knowledge); with my first order the post office tracking said my package was delivered but it wasn't. I got another package that day (different business) so I knew the mail had been delivered. I called the post office and they dug into the tracking number and surprise surprise, they have been finding that the drop shipping companies are using the same tracking number and shipping labels to pay for shipping of multiple packages and just changing the addresses on the labels. The post office found that the package with my tracking number sent by the TikTok shop was not even addressed to me or my address. The post master told me this is sadly not the first time they have found this to have happened.

You should've used the same wand on both curling irons to compare. Using a different wand will of course, give different results! But I still enjoy watching your videos before bed! They always brighten my day/night! 😊

Can we see you do some kind of comparison between ur secret tik tok and ur influencer one to see if they really do give influencers better deals?

I think that the Tiktok shop is doing the same thing that Temu does which is they put their price lower to make people buy from them. I've read that Temu loses 80% of their profit with their sales, and long term, that won't be sustenable for them. So because everything is cheap on TikTok or Temu for the same products compared to Amazon doesn't mean that these prices are going to be that low forever.

Girl, these are all drop shipping. It costs more to sell on Amazon = higher price and you’re paying for quick shipping with Amazon name. When seeing it on sale, it helps push product and is viewed more. Just a sales tactic. When buying from brands, they pay more for brand shops & branding. So higher prices.

The dress and curling wand from amazon should have gotten the point. The tiktok mirror was advertised as having rounded edges so that was false advertisement on their end. The battery test I'm confused, batteries wear out differently, not to mention idk if it's the same iphone model. A better test would have been to drain out and recharge the same phone and time it out Something i missed out is if the same stuff you got from your personal tiktok had different shipping prices on your public tiktok I do love your videos and all the time you and your team put into them, so I wanted to give my 2 cents because I know you'll improve for a next one. ❤

I feel like tiktok shop shouldn't have gotten a point for the first dress, it was such poor quality and the details weren't there Love the vids and your channel but there is definitely a bias to tiktok shop even with the mirrors. If they abvertise rounded edges then why did they send straight edges.

I love hope so much, but I really don’t think fast fashion and quick disposable items like this are something she should be influencing so much. It’s really bad for the environment and the majority of the places these things are produced are terrible to their workers or even use child labor. I love hope but I just don’t really like that she’s promoting buying from places like this so much.

If the quality was better, regardless of price, I'd have given the point to quality... like you did with the lashes. Shopping either store is playing cheapie-crapshoot roulette 😂😂😂 But this was fun to watch. Love the attention to detail with the TikTok lights being pink, Amazon blue. The scorecards. I don’t think you should be using Amazon prime for these videos, as it’s not actually free and lots of people can’t afford a monthly subscription just for free shipping. Plus prime is also faster shipping, you wait a lot longer when you don’t have prime.
