Really great video! Looking forward to the full final review. I'm considering a EDR CF but the 105 or Ultegra ones, not the SRAM. Still, it would be really great to hear your full review as not a lot of people cover the "not so top of the line" bikes, which of course are the ones most people will be able to afford
@@Necessary_Chemical Thank you! The Ultegra one is not that much cheaper, is there any other reason besides price you want to go mechanical? If I am honest, I wouldn't want to go back after trying electronic.:-) Check some of my newer videos, they are not reviews but the bike handled some of the most difficult Tour de France climbs like a king! Fantastic value for money.
@@RoadtoA I just discovered your channel so definitely I'll be viewing your other videos. Regarding the mechanical vs electronic shifting, you do make a very good point and I'm seriously considering if spending a bit more to get not only that but also the integrated power meter isn't actually a far better deal (plus, the EDR CF 105/Ultegra are sold out in my area but the version you are riding is Available). I'll need to read up a bit more about what goes into maintaining an electronic shifting system as opposed to a "traditional one"
@@Necessary_Chemical oh, very little maintenance. Charging once in a very long while, no cables to break/get dirt, you can microadjust your shifting in an app...if you aren't dead set on mechanical I would strongly suggest considering this one. Especially if you don't have power meter pedals, then it is nobrainer, imo.:)
@@RoadtoA Thanks a lot for the reply. I don't have powermeter pedals and I would like some especially after getting so used to having power output info like I do on Zwift :D Thanks a lot and keep it up with the videos!
Nice ride. We have same problem with cards, usualy you can pay with card anywhere, but further you go from big city more chance that something will go wrong(card reader broken/ no internet connection or other random stuff), so i always have cash in my phone case for that.
It's called "bonking", and yep, it's happened to me, had to stop in a "fun race" as they call them; somebody stopped and gave me some food which helped me to finish. I always ride with two full bidons no matter what ride I'm doing. I even do the same indoors :p
This was not really bonking, I am very familiar with bonking from racing marathons/racing on Zwift. Or to be more precise, bonking is a state that preceeded this. I bonked many times in my life, but this was the first time I barely saw the contours of a building in front of me.
@@jesikat Haha yea. The slushie worked though, after pretty bad half an hour the sugars started to work and my vision came back. Was scary though, and completely avoidable.
I also ride around these roads.😊I would recommend switching to 28 or 30mm wide tires, you will like it a lot better. Not sure why Decathlon tends to put 25mm tires on their bikes.
