Let's talk about master studies, baby!!
Okay, okay, let me be clear -- I DON'T think that anybody should plagiarize anybody else's art. It is NOT OKAY to copy somebody else's artwork and make it out as your own. Don't do that. Super uncool, and also illegal. HOWEVER, creating master copies of artwork can be SUCH a valuable way to learn from the artists that you love, and to develop a style that resonates with you. It's something that I've been really loving in my art practice, and it's been a really beautiful way to deepen my own art skills and be really intentional about identifying why a certain piece of art resonates with me.
Do you incorporate master studies into your art practice?
