I had the exact same problem with my 445 x-torx brand new from the dealer. Release the throttle under load and it would stall. Low speed mixture was too lean. Popped the limiters off and made it a little richer and it's been running fine for years.

Glad it started for you,a lot of times they will start, but will die when they get warm. They will also lack power from lack of compression.I have a stihl that I lent out and he used a lean mix which scored the piston all up,but it still has 125 lbs of compression. It will cut small stuff all day,but push it any and she will not want to stay running....replacing the cylinder and psiton is on my to do list...eventually :D

I went in reverse sort of. My first saw was a Poulan Pro PR5020, ran fine since 2017 but earlier this year it refused to run with any pull of the trigger. I did a tune-up kit, and new carb and ran great afterwards. However, this spring it wouldn't run again. I also bought a Stilhl MS 181 C-BE which has always been a champ for small jobs. I was kind of fed up with the Poulan so bought a Husqvarna 545 MKII; awesome saw amazing how much power it has. Yet the 20" bar could be a bit longer, and since I have a bad back I wanted a little longer bar. I recently bought the 460 w/ a 24" bar. I have yet to try it out, but just funny how we're a bit swapped in where we ended up. I've very particular about 2 cycles because I was an idiot when I was younger. I only use high quality oil, and non-ethanol gas. Hence, why I was surprised the Poulan acted like it did. I also have the same chipper as you, great chipper thus far. I bought it this year a well, and mine via the chute pulls the limbs in. Tell you what I thought running a saw was a bit intimidating, running a chipper for the first time yeah... You definitely need gloves, ear pro, and face protection! Even with glasses I still had to break out the forestry helmet with face shield. Yours is a few years old, and I swear yours has bigger wheels than mine!

I am assuming you are referring to the 555, but it was not the first time it was started. the shop I bought it from (address in the videos description) assembles and runs the saws for a short time before they sell them. I was merely doing what the shop keep had done when I bought it. But it is good to note that if you buy a saw right out of the box, you should take it easy on it for a short time before putting a lot of weight on the trigger, Thanks for watching!

Go a little heavier on the oil for the older saw. Look into the spark plug opening fo yourself to see the extent of the scaring. It is possible that the repair shop was exaggerating on the damage. Good video, and good luck with your saws.

I agree, my Husqvarna 460 is the most awesome Saw I've ever Used. I started with a Homelite XL 12 in 75, I was 11. I still have it, and still live it. I gave 2 25 year old Poulan 43cc saws, modified, and will eat up the limbs and 12-14 inch under. I like the light weight (Bad neck n back). I have an old 75 model Poukan 63 CCC, and it's a monster too. But, my 460 Husky, is the baddest saw I've ever used, including any Stihl. I like Stihl too. But for a 20"-24" saw, I highly recommend the 460.

Great advice. I had gotten into the habit of adding the oil to the can before I went to the gas station. Not really a fan of the 460 rancher... not because its a bad saw, its just for the money you're so close to getting a pro saw. The 555xp is definitely an upgrade for sure 👍. The 460 is classified as a "farm and ranch" saw which is really just marketing b.s. for big home owner saw. You now have a proper magnesium case (instead of plastic) and a top end (piston/cylinder) that could be replaced in less than 30 min. That rancher you gotta take the whole saw apart (clam shell engine) pain in the arse that is to put in a new piston/cylinder. Congrats on the 555xp. You should take the muffler off the 460 rancher and see how bad its scored in there, would be interested to see how much abuse it took and still runs, you definitely got lucky.
