The 'T' is a C cab body. Now I am going to have to look at my '31 Woody again for the decals. This would be the first time in about 20 years since I've opened that box. Yes, I will build it.. Those wood grain decals are kind of Funky looking! With the '48 Ford Pro Modeler convertable, it is just one engine block, with high performance hop up parts. Tri power carbs, and if I remember correctly, the heads are Motor City high comp heads. This kit, along with the Pro Modeler '40 Ford convertable, were on my grail list when I found both of them, on eBay last April. Others are the First Generation AMT kits. Most are in the $15 to $20 range. The '40 Ford sedans ran $55 to $100, on eBay. These are a nostalgia trip for me, as I saw them on the shelves of the hobby shops I went to back when I first started building models. Back in 1963. Mrs. Heather, take your time selecting which of those kits you want to build. The 31 Woody is the most complex to build of the two of them, with patience and care, I think that you would do a marvelous job on this kit!

I wish heather would build the same kit as you Matthew instead of a Heather vs Heather, a Heather vs Matthew. Might not be good for the home life but it would be fun for the viewers to see. Either way it will be nice seeing Heather back in the shop fun seeing you two interact and she has some skills when it comes to building.

Rim vs Wheel , its up to you. I say wheel when its complete with tire , and rim when there's no tire, but that's me.

The wife and I went to that show last year. It is more than a model car show. there is a giant outdoor swap meet w/ tools and car parts new and used. An indoor car show on the arina floor. Then the model car show and swap meet in the basement. After we left the show only 1 of the local hobby shops were open "the rail yard" was mostly trains but had a small stock of kits and has a full stock of Tamya and MCW paints.

That 37 Ford panel trucks is a nice kit I did one as a jacked up hot rod

Mrs. Heather clearly is an antique Ford fan. I can understand her thinking, since I've collected so many diecast of Model A's and Model T's, and the 1st AMT model kit I built was a Model T! I've never bought NASCAR or other racing related car diecasts. The way I think about your "wheel versus rim" question, Matt, is: Antique wheels (like on bicycles and motorcycles) have spokes and rims, the combination of those forms the wheels. Modern wheels eliminated the separate pieces and are just wheels. I might like that Virginia model show, have wanted to take a vacation to Virginia to see some of the historic attractions there someday, maybe I can combine the two into one trip.

It can be really difficult to choose a model to build when you have as many to choose from as you have. She did narrow it down to a couple of neat choices. I am totally planning on to going to the show in Roanoke in March. It is the closest show to me. It’s only 90 minutes from my house. Hope to see you there. Thanks for sharing.

You 2 are toooo funny. I was watching to see if Heather was going to pick a Holy Grail kit and see Matt's reaction. Did not happen. By coincidence I am just finishing same kit Heather has chosen. There is no interior just the 4 oval windows. There is a padded bench seat for driver and passenger, no backrest, so I created a bulkhead wall with a door and curtains. My kit is being done up as a circus ticket vendor and have added a bunch of colorful antique paper posters of clowns and circus acts. Bit of caution on the fitting of roof. Leave the large windshield for last. Have fun, cheers.

My vote is for the 31 woody. I tk it would make a great 'surf wagon'. U can cast more surfboards for Ms Ruthie's build. Whichever kit Ms Heather chooses the build will be awesome!

I grew up in Virginia, but it was more like the armpit. Historic Yorktown, but I've traveled all throughout the state including the Blue Ridge. That's where the beauty is. Certainly a lot nicer than the plain flattened lands of Kansass.

Well since it's six months down the road. I think she chose the 31 Woody. Just an fyi on the 1913 candy mobile's accelerator is like farm equipment. It is on the steering column. It's a lever like an auto shift

New viewer with Corona and not welcome with my wife and son. Just watched the video with Ruthie and the Ramcharger and Bronco kits. I explained the wheel/rim thing. It's kinda regional. Now that I see Heather, I understand where Ruthie gets her sweet disposition and beauty. You hit the lottery there Matthew. The Revell Model As are GREAT kits that can be very difficult for beginning modelers to build, and are fragile once built.

The 48 Ford of the group is a wonderful kit with lots of detail. But given the final two options, and given that you want to do something custom…… I say build the woody and scavenge some baby moon wheels/ and wider tires from Matt to go on it. (Also more windows means you can better display the stuff in the back)

I like Heather. Never mind all these 50’s, 60’s cars give me something old. As a Model A Ford owner I kept saying “It’s a thermometer” when you were trying to figure out that round thing on the front of the car. Naturally I’m voting for the Model A woody but the good old Model T C cab delivery would be mighty cool too. Nothing like 4 cylinders and skinny tires.

Thats the radiator cap, some have a temp. gauge in them.

The first 48 ford kit i ever built was the Testors issue with the opening doors. I built it up as Biff Tannons car from Back To The Future. Black with maroon interior.
