I THINK MY 3D PRINTER IS HAUNTED!!

I built this 3D printer during a series of videos. Now that it's finished, I of course want to show off my creation with a little short film. Nothing crazy. I just wanted to have a bit of fun ;)

Thanks for watching! One question though: As you will have noticed, I have some massive moiré issues. How do I prevent this in the future? As far as I'm aware, the only solution is to film in a higher resolution or to blur the image either during filming by setting the focus wrong or in post production. None of which is an option, really. Surely I'm missing something, am I?

Set the subject slightly out of focus ?

Just don’t care about it :D it doesn’t matter

Moddingear I tried that but slightly out of focus doesn‘t work. It has to be a lot out of focus 😕

hokus pokus it does! It‘s driving me nuts! 😄

Yep. Your 3-D printer is haunted. For sure. And...you have some super-sick editing skills, too. Nice job!

Trippyyyy!!!!!!!!!! I got to setup some proper cameras this is very motivating! Great videos!! Maybe I'll use 2 cameras to film in stereo 3d ;-)

Oh 3D would be sick! But it's also very niche. I for example am not able to watch 3D content. And that although I'd concider myself to be in the market.
@sinitarium
@sinitarium 5 лет назад
Yeah it's true it's still niche but it's coming quick enough... Me it's just cause I'm lazy and I figure if I had good stereo cams on my printer I could just look into my rift to see how things are going cause I find 2d view doesn't work good enough to judge... I guess I'd want the thing on some kind of robot arm also to move around haha.

Nice video! Also, your custom printer looks interesting. Now i'll have to subscribe and watch the rest of the videos! :)

Oh thanks dad! I hope you realize that it's a cringefest whenever I open my mouth on (and off) camera, before you subscribe! This is the only "polished" video I have ;)

Like my channel wasn't a complete cringefest, right? :D Hey, all RU-vidrs begin somewhere...

Oh and your printer and prints are freaking awesome by the way... That's got to be the coolest DIY printer I ever seen for sure! I think I like it better than my Little Monster... You are amazing for doing this and releasing the BoM and parts on Thingyverse, WOW!!! I can't wait to build one myself :-) Thank you!

Well thank you for watching! And for your complments :) But just so you know: I built this printer on and off for 10 months or so and I can't remember all the problems I've encountered, nor whether I've fixed all the files after encountering those problems. You might have to do some problem solving for yourself such as drilling holes out to be the right diameter. Also: getting those 8 Z-rails perfectly parallel takes patience ;) but I'll be there to help and to enjoy your progress if you want to share some of it!

Yeah I have no doubt it must have been a very long and perilous adventure to build such a thing from scratch! I have much to learn yet before I attempt such a build... But it's the coolest I seen do far and I already know that I want to build one next year perhaps :-) I'd like mine to be a CnC mill but also thinking of dual extruder. I'm not done pimping my Little Monster yet. I laugh you are using same power supply I just pulled out of it today and replaced with redundant better smaller 120w passive cooled supplies I mounted on a DIN rail with an Omron S8M circuit protector to protect my new Duet Wifi board (now I have an MKS free to build a Transform3r and a PSU hehe) ;-)

I think it looks even cooler growing taller like this than looking at a delta printer! I can't want to see it for real in 3D!!!
@ConstantijnC
@ConstantijnC 5 лет назад
haha perfect :D the psu is fine though. just very loud. But the RU-vidrs tech2c and Design, Prototype, Test have shown how to make them more quite. Mine is now inaudible, eventhough I have mounted it upside down, which is pretty bad from a thermal perspective.
@ConstantijnC
@ConstantijnC 5 лет назад
Oh and a circuit protector would be a good idea if I wasn't using a cheap ramps board. I sometimes hear the hotend fan ramping up and down because it's hard-wired to the powersupply. The voltage doesn't seem to be that stable

Gude! Nice printer, nice Video! Thumbs up! What is the material you are melting over the soldered contacts? Usual hot glue?
@ConstantijnC
@ConstantijnC 5 лет назад
Gundu la Thank you! Yes that’s usual hot glue. I like to use a lighter for small things like this because it’s faster than searching for my hot glue gun and then preheating it.
