A Chicago woman is filing a complaint against a suburban staffing agency, alleging discrimination after hearing what was left in a voicemail for her. WGN's Bronagh Tumulty reports on the story.

People can be so cruel for absolutely nothing. This is so sad in 2024. The very same people will call someone lazy and at the same time not want to help them get a job. It’s just nuts
These people working at this company obviously don’t have your best interests at heart in helping you find work. Very unprofessional. I can’t believe they behave this way, seems nobody can take their job seriously anymore. And all these people in the comments acting the same way commenting on this women’s looks.
Her daughter is going to learn about racism soon enough. The other side of the coin is young children like her are TAUGHT racism at an early age. Not how wrong it is, but how to apply it in their daily lives. And that folks is how the racism disease will never end.

There isn't a Black Child in America who wasn't introduced to Racism at an early age by the cruelty of White or Non-Black Person. Racists People MAKE SURE to sprinkle and/or poor their sickness right in your lap if they feel Entitled to do so.
Things like this have gone on for decades. Years ago I had an elderly friend who had to pretend she was single in order to get a job as a nurse at a nearby hospital. I think it was in the 1920s.
She said "like trash" in the beginning of the video. Not white trash. The white woman on the phone called the applicant white trash. To me that's a more of a dig to a poor person who is white. It's akin to saying ghetto about black people. Either way it's really inappropriate. That office is toxic any way you view it. I wouldn't want to work there even if I was desperate for a job.

👍🏽Thank you I agree. I am a Gen X’er and a Black Woman as well. The line of Women I descended from were tough. They tried their level best to prepare me for this World. Nowadays we have options, that simply were not available in years past. She has all of the tools at her fingertips literally right now to file a lawsuit. She’s already taken the steps to right the wrong that was done to her. Now with this press piece and release hopefully she will obtain employment. I wonder where her Family and Children’s Dad are?

Honestly discrimination is everywhere I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve been discriminated against. For instance I was attempting to rent a home some years ago and the landlord said it’s a good neighborhood and no blacks lived in the neighborhood. It was over the phone but newsflash I am black! I calmly hung up and did not rent with the landlord . It would be funny but it’s 2024 and I’m still being discriminated against. At work, and in public. Discrimination is and can be hard to prove but when I say one instance was so bad I got called into an office after another coworker who witnessed the abhorrent behavior of the discriminating person and emailed my boss of less than a week. And I got the same speech how they were sorry that I was subjected to that and they are all about diversity. Well cut to 6 months later I find out that the offending party was a long time employee that they kept on. This world won’t change until we are the change we want to see in this world! So please stand up if you ever hear or see anything .

This type of behavior among companies happens all the time. The greatest thing is she has proof had she not had that recording it would be her word against the company. Needless to say it’s going to be interesting to see what type of argument the company lawyer will use.
I'm curious what argument they will use too bc you can't argue against a conversation being had willingly, which also happened to be recorded. Needless to say, that person DEFINITELY lost their job and will have to do the same thing this woman is doing. It NEVER pays to look down on others.

They are discriminating against black folks moving into their apartment buildings by saying we need to make three the four times the salary of the rent so in other words if the rent is $1,500 we have to make $6,000 a month that's a form of discrimination and it's going to be a possibility people like me are going to end up owning these apartment buildings where they being racist
I don't think that's discriminatory; I think that's wise. People should never live above their means. If you make 3 times your rent, then it's probably not going to be a struggle for you to pay it. I don't think that has anything to do with race. I think the issue is that so many people want to keep up with the "Joneses" without having the "Joneses" money, and poverty soon follows.

It's not that ppl think they are worth millions. The price tag is an alarm 🚨🚨🚨 to companies to get their act together and get rid of ppl who are not practicing the policies and standards of the company.
