That's literally me too, I'll take 5 minutes to tell my dog goodbye and tell her how much I love her before I go anywhere, and with my parents it's just "'kay bye."

My first husband treated his 2 cars, our dog and his work boots with that much care. Me he almost ignored to the extent that when he died at 47, I was glad - my prison sentence with him was over. That was long ago and I relay that to others to teach how to be kind to the human ones that love you. The dog was my pet too. He died of old age.
Showed my husband this. Said he can relate to the wife. At least I think that’s what he said. Our German Shepherd wanted cuddles and I wasn’t listening.
