I think this is the best Unimog overlanding truck in the world, but I am a bit biased. 

My husband and his pal Abe were duly impressed. Both being engineers were in awe of the work done, its quality and the dedication needed to achieve your goals. They are envious and also ashamed that their own car rebuilds are taking so long and not nearly as complex. A great video and interestingly narrated as well. You two are so admirable. I have always followed you on FaceBook and been absolutely in awe of this project but never fully understood exactly how much work it had entailed. You two are truly marvels.

Ian is not only a very clever man but quite lucky to have a partner who shares his love of the outdoors and photography .

As a couple, you two make quite the team.. from design to execution the truck looks great and then add in your trips with Ian's photography and Trish's modelling.. it all makes for really enjoyable viewing. Thanks for explaining everything in this nicely done video.

Love what you have done to set up the Unimog. I have done similar over the years, but on a much smaller scale, to a couple of Hilux's, Ian has done a great job. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Cape York, first one since 2000, this time with a camper trailer.

Love your truck! I'm a yank from Wyoming. I met a fellow in the early 80s who was here shearing sheep. I gave him my spare bedroom, as he was sleeping in his car. In 2016, he called me up and said he'd just bought a station out on the Darling river, and would I like to come over and help move things out there? Keep in mind, I hadn't heard from him in 35 years, or more. I said of course. When I got off the plane in Sydney, I finaly vaugly remembered who he was. He is a wool broker, and very succesful. Their home place is between Dubbo and Orange, and he also has a station at Brewarnia. He put me in a 24 ft flatbed truck, and after a trip to the station at Tilpa, I started on my own. I had NEVER been through a roundabout, and I'm driving on the wrong side of the road, going through Dubbo, Nygan, Cobar, and 70 miles later, turn onto a dirt road for another 30 miles. We had a stock crate we could put on as well, so I was either hauling cows or sheep, or supplies to Tilpa or Bre. Watching your videos has really made me want to go back. I was there for 6 months, minus the 2 weeks I spent in NZ. I'm hoping to go back over a year from now, buy a Ute, outfit it with spare petrol tanks and some way to carry water, throw my swag and whatnot on, and travel. Interesting point you made that the overhead cupboards contributed to the sense of claustrophobia in the cabin & how much of a difference it made to not have them. Good to know. To date I have designed 2 different overlanding cabins and know intenitely how what you thought might work may not after living with it for a stretch. Happy Travels

You not only get to photograph and video some very attractive nature scenes (and probably get your breakfast made by one of them), but you also rebuilt the MOG engine, did the bodywork, designed and built the box with all its neat features and maximum use of space and engineered the power and water supply systems. AND travel to some beautiful places….. That’s just plain greedy….. Seriously, fantastic work and I’m envious of your abilities. I’d handle the engine and portals ok but not the rest of it. And Trish, great work with the sewing machine, what an awesome annexe. What a great team you make.

Very solid and robust construction, many systems redundant, it is a very safe vehicle. I know Unimogs, Landrovers, G Klasse, Jeeps etc. from my over 40 years of experience, as an assembly engineer around the world, whether in Asia, Africa, America and in the deepest dirt where you put refineries and chemical plants. Ha, I am not surprised to hear you own(ed) a Land Rover ;). This video really showed the years you have expereince with your photos and the video editing. I really enjoyed a walk around the Unimog and your realisation about the overhead cupboards is spot on. Ian's handy work is brilliant, but you don't need me to tell you that ;). With all the modifications that is a wonderful and unique Unimog, priceless even. Thanks for bringing us into your little home on large wheels. Also, thanks for adding in the bag falling from the cupboard, it may have been annoying at the time but it gives a great laugh and works really well. One note, I kept getting a media offline message showing through the video only for microseconds here and there, in red with an exclamation mark.

Would it be possible for you to share how you designed and made the canvas window covers that you use to protect the windows from being scratched by tree branches? Our Moggy's habitation box windows are worse for wear so we need to do something similar.
