Hi Michel! I was just listening to a podcast with Marcus Butler (an OG youtuber) and his ex girlfriend Stefanie Giesinger. They were talking about how in retrospect they regret doing a podcast/other business ventures together and how mixing work with their relationship was unhealthy. Might be a good listen if you are still thinking about doing a podcast with Jordy. Just from my POV, I think your gut feeling is correct to keep your relationship more private and not blur the lines of work and quality time.
I just watched that podcast a couple of days ago and there was so much valuable insight that they gave about relationships in general. So glad they shared!
Another option might be to start a podcast and maybe have Jord make a few guest appearances. I'm doing something similar with my husband, and I think it takes a lot of pressure off the podcast being entirely relationship based.
Setting boundaries might be a good way to start and if/when you both are more comfortable you can re-evaluate and re-establish the boundaries. You don't have to share too much of anything, especially right out the gate. ❤
I would hold off on the podcast for now, and I would continue keeping more of your lives private. I feel like a podcast will only open you both to more criticism and while he may say he’s unbothered by people’s opinions, it could get out of hand quickly. It’s up to both of you to protect what you have built with one another, and the image you create of the other person by what you share.
I love how much you love Jordy and how much he loves you! I love how he shows you his love thru service. It’s not cheesy or cringy to hear you express how you feel about your husband. It’s really sweet and refreshing. 😊

I definitely tend to be a silent watcher and have followed for years now, and have really enjoyed watching your story unfold through the very best and very worst of times. I have noticed you have mentioned countless times now about having a "redemption marriage" and, in this video, a "second chance" at having a loving husband, as if you did something wrong in your last marriage, or as if leaving for your own physical and emotional safety somehow made you a bad person, or less of a Christian, and therefore undeserving of a healthy, loving marriage. It essentially became one of the themes of your wedding, and was mentioned heavily in the planning and even speeches, etc. during the wedding. Going along with what you mentioned in this video about how Jordy has helped you recognize that there are many things that you have been conditioned to have self-limiting beliefs towards, I feel like the "redemption marriage" and finding it unimaginable that you would get the "second chance" you got with Jordy is another one of those examples of areas where you seem to have this narrative in your head, or arc in the portrayal of your life and marriage through the channel, that you needed to be redeemed , or that you are "lucky" to have found someone like Jordy, and that he is this hero for having still wanted to marry you, and to treat you as well as he does. While your marriage seems happier and healthier, and I am so happy for that for you, this is simply what a marriage is supposed to look like. You don't deserve any less for any reason at all. And while I am so glad to continue to be able to watch your recovery from what you endured unfold, and continue to be gifted the opportunity to follow along, I think that, like you mentioned about not wanting to send your viewers a dangerous message with what you do in the kitchen, you should take some time to ask yourself about the message you're sending about abusive relationships, escaping them, and whether or not happiness and healthy dynamics are a matter of "luck", or if they are simply normal and deserved, full stop. You deserve to be loved, to feel safe, and to be cherished, honored, and adored, and that is what is normal in a healthy marriage. Jordy is great, but does nothing more than treat you like a loving husband should. I can't tell if this is how you genuinely feel, or if it is a narrative that you're continuously leaning into for the sake of the channel, or maybe even both, but it just feels like either you really need to take more time to reflect on that in order to reset your ideals about healthy love and marriage, or start to redirect the narrative towards moving forward from everything being centered on how lucky you are to be where you're at, when the reality is that this is not a story, and you're not characters or archetypes, but actual humans experiencing things we all do. With that being said, I think that while a podcast could potentially be a lucrative endeavor, it will continue to require the shaping of this pseudo-fairytale narrative, especially on your part, as you have essentially cast yourself as a damsel in distress, whereas Jordy gets to be this cool, open-minded, easy-going saviour who loves you in spite of your "past". It would also open your relationship to an unhealthy level of criticism, when your marriage and life are already opened to an unhealthy and unusual level of criticism and interpretation. Marriage is already such hard work, as it should be, and frankly, neither of you has had a healthy marriage long enough to really reflect on it yet in a way that is not impacted by a previous unhealthy marriage, or simply being new to it. I think you should just enjoy your marriage for now, and maybe revisit the podcast idea when it is no longer new, and you are admittedly and understandably still not 100% healed from the trauma you experienced previously. If Jordy is the one who truly craves doing a podcast, he should do one solo. Maybe about the music industry, or even about marriage from his own perspective, or surfing, or home ownership, or literally anything he wants, but it doesn't seem healthy in my opinion to force yourself to open up even further than you already do currently, or to put your marriage in that vulnerable a position when it is brand new and you are so happy in it, and experiencing normal marriage for the first time. I think you should treasure what privacy you are able to have, and focus on yourself before you have children and that becomes the focus of your life.

Michel, you look especially pretty and put together today. I’m so happy to see you incorporating more color in both your home and your clothing. I first noticed it when you got the green chairs in Austin. Perhaps your happy relationship with Jordy is allowing you to enjoy having more color in your life. Neutrals still look great on you, but the colorful touches keep you from fading (hiding) in the background. I have noticed you seem to feel more comfortable with green than other colors, and I think your color sense will continue to evolve as you grow and bloom with Jordy by your side. Is use of green coming from your appreciation of using fresh flowers in your home? I know you have a great sense of mixing color because I see it in your food platings. You should use those plating skills as inspiration for adding other colors in the future. If you do, I’m here for it! ❤️

Hi Michel! I totally resonate with the sneaky baggage from toxic relationships. I was also in a very unhealthy relationship from 19 to 25 and am now married to the most wonderful, kind, supportive man. I'm the same in that I don't actively think about my old relationship often but have some ongoing, rooted beliefs and self esteem issues. I often find myself worried about people being mad at me, worry about burdening other people with my presence, feelings of guilt about "inflicting" myself on other people. I'm working on changing these internal dialogues about myself. I'm grateful that you shared your experience about your first marriage - I see you as fault-free and so it gives me permission to be kinder to myself about my role in my first relationship. ❤
Its just incredible to hear you talk about your marriage with Jordy. It is soo absolutely precious. God knew exactly who you needed and briught you two together. Being in my second marriage, I can say honestly, how incredible it is to just know you are with the one God has for you. I still have PTSD from my previous (abbusive) marriage, and have things sneak up on me, but my husband has been so incredible in helping me through all of it. I completely support keeping the relationships in your life private and personal to you. You are trying to keep them safe, protected, and close to you and there is nothing wrong with that! I have come across your videos in the past I think and your wedding dress search from last year came up today as I have been binging wedding content (no reason but daydreaming). So I came to your channel of course to see your final dress choice and then more recent content. Your wedding was beautiful. To hear you talk about your husband here- for you to say you want more of him in the world - I have never heard anyone described that way before! I am SO hear for the continuous evolution of Michel 💗 I've been watching since the days of subscription boxes (which I LOVED) and I continue to love everything you choose to share / allow this channel to evolve into. Re: weight fluctuation - this happened when I went of birth control the first time around (and also when I was healing my relationship with food and focussing on nourishing my body) and is totally normal. I'd say keep the clothes for AT LEAST 6 months (or longer - esp the items you really LOVE), but definitely get a couple things that feel 100% good right now!

I really enjoy the fact that your honest about your finances especially budgeting. A lot of people, including myself, are budgeting now because of the economy and I appreciate that you show that you and Jordy are doing the same. Very real.

Love your videos. We have layers that surround us in the essence of our lives. We are always evolving, shifting, glowing, gliding, waltzing around/in and out of living. I believe it is really important to keep pieces of you, loved ones, just for yourself. I do read the comments, when I come across one that has a tone that does not vibe with me, I pause, say a little prayer and skip over it. Absolutely yes to the podcast!!! It’s not competition to the videos, it’s a completely different entity that would be consumed differently ie. we would listen during dog walks, hikes, power walks. Different medium and consumed differently. Would love to listen during these other activities. Big picture, long term it would give you a different medium to pursue (especially with babies running around).

Michel, I adore you. I am so happy that you and Jordy found one another. It's precious. I completely understand your medical journey. I struggle with quite a few illnesses; including Lupus and Sjögren's. This past month has definitely been a doosy. I lost some of my sight due to a bad flare-up. Every video that you post encourages me to keep going. I see you being a light even through your struggle. I hope to do the same for others. I just recently got onto our worship team at church. I pray God gives me the energy to complete the task. Also... I told my husband about your parents-in-law having an Airbnb down in Alabama. He asked me to look into it so that we can check it out. How would I go about doing that?
I have been watching you for almost two years. I can't believe time went that quickly. I told my SO some of my worries that are never going to happen bc he's not abusive but I still have trauma fears from growing up and he tells me that he isn't like my mom and isn't going to hurt me. It sucks that I still have these deep rooted fears but I'm glad he reassures me he's not going to hurt me.❤

Give your grace with your second marriage. My husband came from a rough marriage and divorce as well so i am trying to help him through it as well over the last several years of being married to him. It took him about 3-4 years to understand, try to heal from the trauma of the previous marriage. It's a work in progress.
