I am a big fan of Adidas Y-3 since forever. They are among few brands which are still innovating when it comes to sneaker designs. The designs may not for everyone because of its futuristic, avant-garde, forward-thinking concept.
My first Y3 piece was the infamous ninja sneakers QASA high triple black. The neoprene upper, the tubular soles, and the futuristic looks makes the qasa an iconic sneakers of all time. However, when it comes to comfort, this model stands a bit short. The rubber is too stiff even though I wore them quite often. In contrast, the Y3 itogo's comfort is on another level. They are super comfortable to wear for a long period of time. Adidas Y-3 itogo has the Yohji Yamamoto stealthy design language which is consistent through out the collections. The techwear inspired, ninja, japanese looking now is accompanied with Boost technology. The unique stitching technique is also a highlight of the model. it is reminiscent of the yeezy 350 v2 aesthetic. Simple PrimeKnit upper and semi-translucent sole enclosed the boost insole are the similarities between the two.
