Eco Thrift!!! I saw a dope Olympus film camera few months back and was gunna pick it up(after I looked at the clothes), came back, less than 10 minutes after, it was gone! Dope video bro!
Daniel Dijo oooo Medium Format, yeah unfortunately it’s just the G1 but none the less a dope find. Would you be willing to take trades or sell me your Contax T2 & Yashica T4?
Don’t give up! Try something different, maybe go on different days & times. Ask the people in the back when they put items out. The thrift is always about timing remember that 🧐
Same, been by dozens of times and the only thing they had was a beat electro 35. I stopped going, Videos like this and kingjvpes make me realize they just must be in a big city or something with a ton more stock.
The mju 1 / stylus epic with the gold button you paid $1 for is literally so cool. I found the completely clear demonstration unit for the stylus epic recently. Pretty wild what you can find if you look around. Great video!
My grand-dad passed a few years ago and I found his old Yashica Electro 35 GSN he had in the Vietnam War, found out it has super bad battery corrosion and or a broken wire so I’m gonna fix it up and start taking pictures with it soon
That's an amazing story! I can't say much about the broken wire. But vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and a Q Tip work wonders getting rid of battery corrosion.
Hello! I really appreciate the work you doin.. I also started to thrift clothes and your videos help a lot of people that needed some extra bucks.. can I ask you ? I found a Canon Prima Zoom 65 at old stuff in my house.. I want to know how much it is worth and if is it good enough for me to use it ?! Thanks a lot 🔥
I love love love thrifting! Buy a shit ton of stuff from thrift stores. Great fun. Bought my first and most my SLRS from thrift stores. But now they are all closed for the duration.
Love thrifting cameras. And it’s a great tip to ask if they have cameras. I once went into the back and found some gems. Including a stylus zoom that was in the trash!!! They told me I could just take it. I passed it on to another photographer. It’s great putting life back into these guys!! Also at garage sales, ask if they have cameras and get them back out in the world. I have bought whole boxes with great stuff to get your money back and more.
Benjamin Lee Howard I know right they never put the cameras out at garage sales unless you ask them. Thank you for watching and your comment I appreciate it 🙏🏽❤️ More videos coming!
Every thrift store I’ve been to would sell the pelican alone for $25. Seems like they all google search cameras and get a rough idea of price nowadays. You’re either super lucky or that $700-$800 G1 setup was only in the video to spice things up 😉
Of course, some people hate the aspect of the thrift because it makes you “feel gross” afterwards. Just wear gloves and a face mask, and wash your hands/clothes afterwards.
Old video but wow I had to comment a eos rebel for $159 where do you live Dubai and everyone is stupid rich I paid less for a canon T6i local 2 weeks ago in mint condition That is not a thrift store that is a let’s see who today’s sucker will be store lol
Film will make you a better everything because it slows you down and ends the spray and pray. Develop and Scan your own film, it's easy as frying an egg. Never, ever store cameras in plastic bags or prepare for mold and fungus growth.
One digital camera with a similar "slow down and look" approach is the Floppy Disk Sony Mavicas, sure, it's not as good as film or modern digital, but it's still interesting to use, and with 13 shots at high quality per floppy disk you have to think about what you want to photograph, and wait a few seconds after the shot for it to save so you can't rapid fire. Deffinitly more of a temptation to retro computer nerds though since you need to get a floppy drive and a pile of floppies to save your pictures and load them to a PC
