Dynamic of OP is the scapegoat and must be punished for literally existing, but when OP decided peace out, I’m gone it ruined the dynamic and they wanted to blame somebody mainly Emily, due to the fact that she was the one that slept with OP’s boyfriend and had a kid and they would rather blame that on Emily rather than continuing to blame OP. It was known that Emily was the favorite, but since OP wasn’t around to take the blame or get punished anymore, they needed an outlet and Emily and her child were the perfect replacements.

The saying isn't to deem one unworthy of being loved, but blind to it. There is a huge difference between not loving yourself and hating yourself. The psychology behind the difference is that your subconscious will seek to make your viewpoint a reality by blocking any opposing evidence from registering... this is what we call bias. Now, if your bias is that you're unlovable, then your partner can give you the moon each and every day, but you'll live oblivious to all the ways they are showing you that they care. Then when they burn out on trying to get through to you, all you'll see is "partner left proving I am unlovable."... I know this, cause I was in that deep of depression and needed professional help to see how blind I was. In the same light, if you hate yourself, then that stems from disappointment, which stems from feeling you can be so much more. Working with that sliver of hope, your subconscious will latch onto every loving act imposed on you as a way to disqualify the hate. You will be aware, appreciative, and eventually might even see the good in you that others see. In short, the expression is not an outward measure of how lovable you are, but an inward measure of how receptive you are to being loved.

@@Harvest133 not always. I've been to pretty dark places in my life and have nearly ended it all, convinced nobody cares. At that point, it didn't matter who actually did love me as I was blind to it all and pushed everyone away. But it was only after taking some intense therapy where they were finally able to crack a little light in so I could see a sliver of good in myself that I could even realize that some people still cared. I am still greatly isolated from others and don't really have friend to lean on, so I wouldn't be in that "people who don't know what it is to be unloved" camp and it is far too easy to find reasons why people wouldn't care to care about me, but I can tell you that all the motivational carp and love in the world never actually helped until I first started to even understand that I am lovable.
