No cameras,no cell phones, minimal police presence…the 80’s and 90’s were a wild time. No such thing as an internet beef…it was real and you had to face it head on.
Things were a lot more authentic back then. If Suge did that Source Awards speech now people would think it was an internet skit or something. All that coastal crap would get shut down REAL FAST now cause people would find you, torture you on camera and put it out for the world to see. A lot of people got lucky they pulled those stunts in the 20th century.
Thats a fact you didnt hit mfs up on fb or Insta like yo pull up on me lol nah when you seen mfs it was on no hesitation they wasn't doin anything tryna be seen. Now this sh*t is funny style.

Suge Knight could've been right up there with Diddy, Master P, Jay-Z, Ye, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, etc as some of richest in the industry but he wanted to play thug life and couldn't grow up. Death Row and Suge was making money hand over fist, but Suge couldn't get out of his way and stay out of trouble. Now he's in prison where he belongs.
Diddy was the reason the distribution deal got messed up. Suge, irv Gotti and j Prince were going to get all the money. Small hats and feds stopped all that with puff. Biggie had a 60 million dollar label deal set up. Puff probably had him marked for death also.
@mrsmukk only thing about that is everybody doesn't hit the same way and everybody can't take a hit the same way...if Suge hit him with even 30% power he's either knocked TF out or dazed to the point Suge could easily just go in his waist/pocket and take his gun.
@@jackiechun5817 Big Gipp was rarely seen out alone if at all...them boys rode deep, if Suge put his hands on one he gone have touch em all, and like Gipp said they all kept that toast
Correction Suge's a Aries, he's born April 19th. Taurus season starts April 21st just so ya know, but also people can believe whatever that want 2 believe. I just wanted 2 point that out, it's all good I'm out✌🏾
Cause everyone was! U noticed every one tough now he locked up. Y no one say this shit when was out? These niggas tough now! Them niggas in Atlanta gay ass fuc
What I get from Gipp from this interview: 1) He loves his city of Atlanta 2) He loves Tupac 3) He doesn’t like Jay Z, Puff, Suge, or NYC 4) He believes 3000 is the goat. 5) No ones fucking with Goodie Mobb or OutKast
He's so right, I'm from St.louis and every week you heard about a brawl or shooting at a club or concert, and if you weren't there you had no proof of what really happened, it was crazy.
It was live n direct then. If we had beef when we saw a mf it was on, didnt matter where or when. Now its hop on fb or Instagram pull up on me! Scripted shit!!
@@KingGKnowledge-vw5rd I don't tell the truth to get likes. Lame fools like you do. Seeking likes and clout chasing is looking for validation. When you tell the truth you don't need no one to validate you
Flint, Michigan we in here and we appreciate you giving it up for breed. Alot of people don't know he was that connection to alot of things in the game. He was a good dude heart was in the right place.
Shot out to Flint Town. Two of my favorite groups came out of there. I'm from the Chi so you know what it is. Salute. Plus we was listening to Breed since the song job corps
That 2pac incident happened on Stewart Ave ( Now Metropolitan Pkwy) in Atlanta . Classic 👌🏽 👌🏽 👌🏽 and he's right 2pac did spend alot of time in Atlanta. He was always at Super Sound Records by Greenbriar Mall in Southwest atlanta
@reddfoxx4962 I actually have a pic of him there of him squatting and throwing 2 middle fingers up . And if you remember supersound they had a small wall of pics of different celebrities that came through. My homeboy Reggie used to work there and he kept some of the pics . And my family also went to Therrell and Bunche ...
He's right on the 90s and cameras. Cameras everywhere now, stores, streets, houses, phones. It was nothing to shoot someone and get away if there was no cameras or witnesses.
Suge wasn’t like people make him out to be, you can take anybody and put all those gangsters with him he had and would that make them tuff. Everyone forgets what happened to him when he got in a one on one fight with that small dude, got his ass knocked out. And you could tell he didn’t know how to fight the way he was trying to throw punches.
@@yungthugpymp Bru. The video I saw, the dude was about 5,10 and looked to weigh about 150-160. That’s very small compared to surge, and it shows Suge had no type of fighting skills whatsoever. Everyone always give big dudes the benefit of doubt, and they be the main ones who get whooped when them goons not with them
I will never understand why people act like pac was a method actor he played multiple roles but they always highlight bishop and birdie 😂 he also played a mailman, detective and an addict a true movie star if you ask me
Yeah...I liked gang related... that's the one he played the cop ..but my all time favorite was when Omar Epps shut that damn refrigerator door and pac was standing there. Everybody in the theater yelled some version of damn!!! And jumped
Naw, I've heard stories of Suge trying certain folks in the south & getting met with resistance... Never knew who exactly, but those stories were out there back in those days...💯💯💯
1 time I time I saw suge slap a guy on Crenshaw and 55th the guy was with his mom wife and daughter .. the daughter pulled out a knife and suge apologized😂 true story
How many guys were with suge? Everytime I hear a story about suge kicking up dust, he always have a gang of dudes with him. It easy to be bad when it's 10, 12 dudes jumping on 1, 2 guys. That ain't being tough/hard. That's coward shit to me
@@righteousmasculine He couldn't grow up and stay out of trouble. He could've had money like Master P, Diddy, Jigga, Dr. Dre, Kanye, etc since he and Death Row was making so much money in it's prime but he wanted to play thug life and it costed him.
I grew up in the East Bay, Original 415 before we took on 510. It's a shame a lot of folks remember Pac as a thug. Pac was so much more. Pac wrote powerful poetry and use to spread his genius work at places like Larry Blakes in Berkeley. Pac was so MFin' smart. SAD the way it ended.
It's so ridiculous how these people claim they did this or that to suge years and years later but never mentioned these stories back then . This guy stories sound suspect 🤔
2pac fan club was in Decatur, GA. Back when the fan club info was on Cassettes cover. Pac was living in The Atlanta as well. Breed and Pac was thick like 91-93
Damn that’s true af about the cameras, I’m 25 and used to always wish I grew up in the 70’s/80’s/90’s cuz you could get away with so much shit and the music and American culture in general was dope af
I don’t doubt Gip, but at the same time man where were all these “i stood up to Suge Knight” stories when he was still able to get at folks? I ain’t heard one “F- Suge Knight” story since RU-vid started in 2005 except from Snoop Dogg. Soon as Suge got locked up everybody got a David vs Goliath story where they came out on top 😂😂😂😂
LMFAO they're not chasing clout like you kiddo. You make it seem like Gipp just brought the story up. He was asked by Art what happened and Gipp shared what happened. It's like you want Gipp to record every situation.
Nobody asked Gipp that question back then. In fact, back then Suge got checked and knocked out a few times... but most were from people who weren't famous. So who is going to ask them about it?
I know people want to believe Suge was some sort of fake thug, but its hard to take some of these stories being true with regards to Suge being a pushover. But lets put some objectivity in this discussion. The guy was 6'5, 300 pound monster with 100s of Pirus behind him so its hard to imagine the likes of Gipp, Daz, Snoop who in comaprison are scrawny little men are putting it on him in a time where Suge was moving around like Thanos. If this story is to be true, then why didnt other people try it with Suge knowing that someone like Gipp can stand up to him? btw im talking about the Suge Knight from the 90s, not the one from the mid 00s where his power was waning. Even the Master P story, where P apparently told Suge to get moving from LA lol but ends up paying Suge / Death Row to buy out Snoops contract... Everyones got a heroic 'I stood up to Suge' story when the man is now a shadow of himself and hes staring at 4 walls but where was all this talk when the man out and about?Genuinely, where was all the bravado talk?
9mm bullets can humble a 6’5”, 300-pound man and all his goons. Simple and plain, not everyone operates in fear. There are stories of others who stood up to him and took an L and there are people who got the W, but in both instances there was a person who didn’t operate out of fear…
Bro you got some guys who don’t care bout all that they willing to die for what they believe so you can’t just say that. Remember it’s always somebody badder than and you crew, a lot of guys you got to show them they don’t believe what people say, to me surge was like mike tyson fighters were scared of him b4 they fought him, you see sugar ain’t get out the car and fight that dude when he ran over and killed his man, if he do bad why he ain’t get out the car and take the fade???
For real! I have a hard time believing people saying they stood up to a prime suge ( 94-96) like it's nothing. In that time, he was easily one of the most powerful black man in America.
If y’all don’t believe it Gipp was like the first Kodak to put it In reference…he had the wild hair and grilled up before it was kool…and at that time the south was unknown territory so being that Atlanta was rising so fast they were the face on the scene…do your research about Goodie Mobb they were literally the hooder version of outkast and they were backed by some of the biggest players in the game
@@jonp9300 They spit reality conscious rap that goes on in the blk community..Goodie wasn’t the most gangster’ed out but they were from the streets of the A they were not green my guy
Goodie Mobb was far from "hood " them dudes spoke wisdom/knowledge on their albums. They were the total opposite of "hood " they were against being "ghetto" or "rachett" there was a song on their second album Still Standing. Where one of the members were talking at the end of the song and said. Pick up the trash in the middle of the street amd sidewalk. And make our community look better than what it is. And you wonder why them white folks they we're lazy as as a people. Cause we don't take care of our community. It obsolete blew my mind when he said that. I have never heard a rapper say it in that way. You always hear rappers who speak knowledge, to tell people to stop slinging drugs to our people or even the kids to help them sell the drugs. But not pick up litter off the ground.
Aye, glad Gipp mentioned P.A. cause they gets no recognition. I used to keep that cut, "Like We Do" in heavy rotation. It slapped hard!! I need that on Spotify so I can add to my Dungeon Family playlist, which also includes Witchdoctor...another DF member that gets little shine! That "Holiday" jawn still beats!
@Hollywood yeah but a lot of stories about suge were told by rappers...countless stories...and some of these same guys all of a sudden were punking suge when it's convenient but they weren't saying that before. It just looks suspect

That’s how friendly PAC was in all actuality. His upbringing was him always having to move around and find new friends so it stuck with him as a young adult.

Man some of y’all don’t get it. Down south we different. Where you act up you can get it. And everybody strapped even at a young age so that bully shit don’t fly . Plus we grew up throwing hands everyday so fighting ain’t nothing to us. We fight . We cool with everybody u til you disrespect or cross the line.
4:42. That part. They are so many hip hop stories we don’t know. Not even just hip hop. Basketball, football, all sports and forms of entertainment. Plenty of stuff we don’t know and never will know happened.
I been telling people that for years!! It was way worse back then!! Gun play was completely out of control!! Hoods was literally the wild Wild West because law enforcement hadn’t figured out how to control the hoods yet!
But you gotta realize not everybody gonna fear you no matter what your history is. Because at the end you bleed and feel pain just like the next man. And we all know Suge done got his chin checked more than once no matter what point of his life it was.
Artists were terrified of Suge. Street dudes in their Entourage are the ones who didn't fear Suge because they were crash dummies ready to engage in gunplay and risk their freedom and lives. Suge had been around artists like Bobby Brown and Dr. Dre and he knew that they didn't think and act like that.
From one black man to another, I want to sincerely thank you for Out “Vladding” Vlad. Instead of sitting around b****ing about him being a culture vulture, you competing with him and are actually WAY better. This is how we do it black men. Less complaining more competing.
