If you have any questions about Festool, hit me up anytime. I’ve switched everything over to Festool two years ago and use them everyday on every job site and in my shop. When using the green zero clearance outside splinter guard, put the saw on the track and drop that green piece down to touch the wood. This will prevent tearing of grain and help contain some of the forward shooting sawdust. Also get Festool’s panther blade for ripping. It has 12 teeth and will get you through straight line rips much faster with no resistance even on that Ash. You can see any of these techniques on my channel, I use the track saw in just about every video, I don’t use a table saw anymore at all.

^ This man knows his stuff. I echo getting the panther blade for rips. Makes a huge difference. And in regards to the green koolaid, nothing I've bought from festool yet (dust extractor, tracksaw, two sanders, a bunch of accessories) has disappointed me or made me second guess my purchase.

@@NWGRSame. Financially painful to acquire but then they are pure pleasure. I agonized over which sander to get. It was probably the hardest tool decision I’ve had to make because of how varied, nuanced, and specialized all their sanders are.

@@paulmetcalfe3721 I went through the same choosing my first sander and decided on the ets ec 150/5. Brushless motor, lightweight, big sanding surface, fine enough for "fine" woodworking, aggressive enough for speedy stock removal. My second is the rts 400; it's great little sander for edges and where a less aggressive touch than a random orbit sander is preferred. I definitely see an ro 90 in my future too.

I don't own any festool, yet. I just wanted to say as an old timer I really admire your love for the trade and always learn a little something in your videos. I find myself wondering who you learned under and if you could do a video of your mentor or mentors and how they impacted how you aproach your projects, if they did. Do not over tighten the clamps, they make the track bow. Also carry the hose and cord like Sege, it makes a difference for the stopping that can cause the wobble that leaves the marks. Great buy

To help with the saw marks there are adjusters on the baseplate front and rear to tighten the play between the saw and the rail.

I started my Festool conversation in 2010. No regrets. All drills, sanders, routers, and saws are now Festools. Only two failures, the internal battery in my work light, replaced under warranty, and the Jacobs chuck on my 18v drill, also replaced under warranty. Get a rip blade and increase your feed rate to minimize blade marks.

You can also try a ripping blade for the TS75 in addition to the standard blade that comes with the saw (16T vs 36T). I found it helpful with 8/4 walnut rips. Thanks for your entertaining video. Festool is a great system.

Exactly, Festool is a system. There might be better individual tools out there, but they don't work as a system, which saves a lot of time and time, as we know, is money. And when you combine tools with their dust extraction, you can really tell the difference. I'm not a professional woodworker, I'm building a house and making the furniture myself and I had a problem paying that much money for the tools, of course, Festool was on my wishlist, more like a wet dream, but I thought I couldn't justify the cost. Then I got hold of the tracksaw. I was quite impresed. Next I bought an RTX sander and Midi dust extractor. That was a real step up! The most despised operation became a non-issue. Soon after I took a jump and bought probably the most hated Festool machine, the dreaded Domino. That really bumped the quality of my work and saved a lot of time to me. Last week I made a rough calculation and found out these expensive tools have already paid for themselves and I'm about half way to finishing the project. Beside that I'm very impressed with their customer service. I dropped my tracksaw and broke the housing, entirely my fault, I took it to my dealer and they told me it would take max two weeks since they had to send it to Germany. A week after that I went to Germany, near Stuttgart on business. From my hotel room I saw the familiar green sign and found out it was Festool factory and, of course, I had to pay the visit. I went to their showroom and looked around. An employee aproached me and I told him I'm not a buyer but he took me around and showed and explained me just about anything, regardless. Then I mentioned I had my tracksaw in service. He asked me some details, he checked it on a computer and told me it has just been hinished and asked me if I want to take it there or delivered to my dealer. I took it on the spot and he sent an e-mail to my dealer. Of course, I paid for service, I bought two blades and few other things, he gave me a nice price and threw in an extra zero clearance insert and a micro systainer. That's what I call customer service and justification of the price. They got themselves a loyal customer. A very small one, but, still. Two days ago I ordered a Kapex and I'm pretty sure it is not the last purchase.

I've got a bunch of lime green for the same reason that drove you to purchase your TS 75. The TS 75 was my gateway Fest-tool. I've had it since 2011. It's kicked 'beep' through thick and thin and runs as well as the first day I used it. I also added Oneida's cyclone chip collector for Festool to my CT 26 vac. It doesn't stay on the vac very well, but it doesn't reduce the suction as much as Festool's, and as the saws and routers produce a ton of chips, it's a great purchase. I haven't emptied my vac bag in three years. There's nothing but very fine dust in it. Good luck with the 75!

Gratz on the move. When joining tracks, leave a tiny hairline gap since the tracks aren't necessarily milled 90deg. Also, grab a trusted level and slap it across the raised ridge portion that the track-saw will straddle to ensure straightness. The new joiners are better than old, but long stretches of rails have enough torque to shift things a mm or so when you're flopping it around.

Welcome to the party pal!!! There are somethings that you just have to have the Lime-Green & Gray tools for. BTW, they just re-released that TS-75 here in America. DYK, the Dewalt track saw clamps work perfectly with the Festool guide rails. I keep a set of them in my LR32 kit. Now you need to get a TSO GRS-16 PE Parallel Edge Guide Rail Square. The toys they just keep on coming. 🤣🤣🤣

You need to get the 60 volt flex. Big upgrade for the original Flexvolt… like you I had so many issues with my original Flexvolt… We trimmed production houses and I’ve personally went through 5 of them. Luckily this new 60 volt has been awesome with no issues….time will tell but I don’t think this one will have motor failures..

Brother I don’t own any festool but I recognize the absolute quality in everything they build. I know you do this for a living so the importance of not only accuracy, but convenience is top priority. With that said,,, 1300$$$ for a track saw? From what I have seen the only real advantages have over their quality competition is their dust collection on this. 700$ would buy you top quality. But again, you do this for a living and can’t have equipment fail. One fail could cost you that 600$ you saved on the next best thing. I think my first festool will be a domino. Man I could build some cool sh$t with that. Lol.

Buying a TS-55 about twelve years ago was my first hit of the lime green crack - MUCH nicer bringing the tool to the panel rather than the other way 'round when working with sheet material like plywood and the like. Try the sanders - their dust collection is second to none. Buy once, cry once.

I have owned my Festool track saw setup for probably over 15 years and has been flawless every time and my favorite tool. Have been a carpenter over 40 years and have let a lot of the guys I’ve worked try it and always had to pick up their jaws off the ground. Many of them have asked me if they can get it when l die😂

I'm living in the Netherlands and we understand what German quality is, in cars (BMW, Audi, Mercedes) but also with tools. I never understood the Festool haters, sure it's expensive but use it and you understand why it's expensive. I have Festool, Mafell and Makita tools. Mafell is sometimes even higher quality (and more expensive) than festool. But it's a tool which you use to make money. And if you thought the festool tracksaw motor is strong, the mafell motor is even stronger. But they are both great tools.

I found that it's only really necessary to clamp the exit side of the cut. The foam strips work great but if the saw is putting down pressure on the infeed side it can move the outfeed side, unless it's clamped.

Yeah I swapped the corded to the new cordless it was a no brainier with the two free batteries offer. It made it cheaper than all the supposedly cheaper alternatives and it’s definitely more powerful than the corded version. Lime green and red ftw

MADE IN GERMANY 💪🏻 I just bought the new TS60 myself a few weeks ago and I'm just thrilled! the precision the machines have is simply outstanding. With many other saws from other manufacturers you still have to adjust small things. At Festool, 90° is really 90° and that out of the box (or Systainer) and Festool thinks about what can be done better for each tool. Such as with the TS55/60/75, move the green lever on the top and you can change the saw blade, the saw blade is in the right place so that you can unscrew the screw (that's the case with many saws) but with festool the saw blade is blocked at the same time, so you don't have to press another button to be able to unscrew the screw. And so it runs through all tools, what can be done better. Simply a great company and great products that are worth the money. The 3-year guarantee at the beginning also includes protection against theft, for example, if the device is stolen you pay €125 net and get a new device in return (at least in Germany, but I think that’s the case worldwide).

Good choice Dude. I have the same setup. A couple of things. The green thing at the front of the saw should bear against the workpiece. It’s a splinter guard on the waste side, and sometimes you might want to make a waste side cut where the “waste” is the bit you want. Secondly, do yourself a favour and get a decent rail square. It’s a game changer. I use the benchdogs rail square, but Festool and tso tools (and others) make great ones. I rarely use the table saw (CMS table with TS75 driving it) or the MFT3. A rail and rail square are just faster a lot of the time. Thirdly, you have a LOT of dust. I don’t know what dust extractor you use but the Festool MIDI (that I use) is way better except when the bag is full. Also, cover the blade change window with frog tape or similar to make less airborne dust. Finally, you can get a waste side jig to fully account for the blade kerf when making a “waste side” cut from Carl at Strawbyte Workshop. It makes waste side cuts as accurate as regular cuts.

Definitely get a ripping blade for solid lumber. Completely different animal. Push the zero clearance down after you set it on the track. Just got the new 55 a few weeks ago with a festool vac, friggin legit.

As I commented before when you bought a Festool Domino, I'm a retired truck driver, not a woodworker. I have a small (limited work space) two car garage, so when I approached my friend who owns Eagle Tools in Los Angeles, he told me that with a Festool Track Saw, I could get by without a table saw to start. So in 2015, I bought a TS 55 track saw kit and an extra rail for long cuts. Man! Was it expensive! But, after a few months of using it (I also purchased the CT 26 E Dust Extractor from my friend Jesse a short time after) my cuts were so perfect and square, I quickly realized that the quality of these tools were worth every penny. I now own a Festool MFT/3, two Festool's sanders, both the 500 and 700 domino and next month, I hope to purchase the KAPEX KS 120. Oh, I did get a table saw from Jesse some time after my purchase of the track saw, a SawStop Jobsite (I think they are part of Festool too). Another great investment.

I have both the ts55 and the ts75, and recently bought a bunch of the makita XGT tools, so I bought their track saw and dust extractor as well because I wanted a cordless track saw for use on site. The cordless makita has been cutting so much better than either of my corded festools, and the dust collection has been top notch as well. Just figured I’d throw that out there since I’ve seen quite a few makita tools as well in Your videos

I started with the makita corded tracksaw and track 7 years ago, switched to the makita 36v tracksaw paired with festool tracks 2 years ago, it is a very solid setup but… the makita depth adjustment is the worst I’ve seen and they didn’t change it on the xgt saw. I just got the tsc 55 f and it’s 👌 checks all the boxes, depth adjustment, Bluetooth, and dust bag.

If you have problems joining the guide rails, get TSO joiners. They self-align. Also a guide rail square is a game changer. The Festool one is made by TSO and is exactly the same. Just great gear. The vacs are awesome, too. Cheers from downunder PP

I think inside carpentry just pointed out Milwaukee track locks the saw in place for miters so it doesn't tip over. Festool track doesn't have the lip to prevent tipping. Same track otherwise.

Great video. I got the ts55 with rip cut blade and fs 3000 track. Game changer. I had two tracks and always had to strait edge them when connecting them. Hated it. One 3000 track is so easy. Also the splinter guard has to slide down and stop on the material your cutting. Keep up the great work

Surprised you didn't get the Milwaukee or Makita 40v track saws. If you need more depth of cut, you can get the Makita GSH04 10 1/4 track compatible saw. The only cordless track saw this size.

I am tool agnostic. The best tool for the job that I can afford. I own a Festool tools. My first the Domino and CT36 dust extractor. The the battery version of the TSC55, PSB400 jigsaw and ETC250 sander. Zero regrets on the purchase. It hurts the pocket book, but then again so was my camera gear.

I had to run the Dewalt miter saws to service often, usually a spindle bearing issue was the culprit. Covered under warranty, used to have a Dewalt factory service center close enough to tolerate them I heard Metabo or Hitachi was the GOAT, have yet to see one on a job.

If anything you were too slow with your feed rate. Especially with cherry which is prone to burning. Try to even out your steps when you walk with it to eliminate saw marks.

The future is bright with a green huw. I bought the Bosch track saw didn't want to go down the festool route. Delivery was delayed by weeks so I cancelled the Bosch and went green, now many £ and nearly twenty years later in too deep. .. gate way tools , right !.😅 .... The TSO PRODUCTS GRS-16PE PARALLEL EDGE GUIDE RAIL SQUARE is a must have addition when cutting sheet goods 👍

I was with you about the Green CoolAid until a saw of mine stopped working. 2 Dewalts here and there might be a short term solution however it adds up. The thought that goes behind the engineering of the Festool tools and the ease of use “no fuss it just works” connverted me to paying more for a tool that stays around longer than most. Every tool has there pro’s and con’s and will eventually fail - all of my other brand saws no longer live at my house kind of tells you which one has become my go too...

same thing happens with my dewalt impact. it slows down then speeds up, then slows down, then you have to pull the trigger 10 times for it to drive something.
