that’s thing though, cars depreciate the minute you drive off the lot or step into one, my blazer went from worth 4.5k when i bought it to 2.5k after a month
If it were me I'd keep it. It's the perfect road trip car. A quiet, spacious and comfortable interior. The massive trunk for all your luggage. Plus you'll never lose it in a parking lot.
He should make a video series where he goes back and buys pristine examples of all the crappy versions of cars he has bought over the years money permitting. I think his reaction to them would be entertaining.
@@b4804514 Some people care about money and power more than others, so they get it. And it corrupts them. Thankfully dictators exist. We are about due.
@@FirstLast-mb9fqWTF about due We are there in full swing. If the middle class survives this 4 years with -$30 in the bank the wealthy still won't be happy
They aren't, that's the problem. My local dealer let me try a new Phantom, to persuade me to part with my 1964 Silver Cloud III. The Phantom door handles were loose, the indicator shorted out the radio. There were a number of bodywork issues. The drive made me 100 per cent certain that I was going to keep the Cloud. It may not have computers, fridges or sparkling lights in the roof. But, I drive it most days, it's solid, well built and reliable and any good mechanic can maintain it. As for depreciation, I paid £15000, now it's valued at £75,000.
The Porsche dealership was smart enough to figure out he is a youtuber and didn;t want his dealership on the record making a ridiculous low ball offer ,so they gave him a no offer.
Honestky they are not a great dealer as is. Would only reccoment getting a car from them if they have something rare you at a good price otherwise go anywhere else.
"As you know I have a 100k invested in this thing" -- that's like saying you have a thousand dollars invested in lottery tickets. If you know it's going to lose value, it's not an investment!
Also the difference is with lottery tickets you could theoretically actually profit. After purchasing a Rolls usually to make money with it you'll need to use it as a robbery vehicle.
Since Hoover has yet to "love your comment," I am putting a hypothetical LYC heart, indicating that I love your comment for him (at least as a temporary measure :-)
@@vintagehaynesflute Keeping it is a good idea, but again, 70k buys you a great German luxury sedan that doesn't draw so much attention, if that's what he actually wants.
@@vintagehaynesflute Yeah, well, that's because it's the merc equivalent but notice how it's called a Maybach NOT a Mercedes Maybach? There's a reason for that. Bentley, Rolls, Maybach, they are on a different level. There is a MAJOR difference between this and that luxury Hyundai as well. Pull up in the Hyundai and people will yawn, Pull up in any of the aforementioned three, and people WILL notice. They don't notice because it's UNcool, that's for sure.
djrincon - LMAO! No, just no. My friend had a nice big new infinity SUV and Uber said he could get a premium rate. His goal was to just to do occasional trips to offset his payment. He had laundry list of idiot things people did to his very nice car, such as etching their initials into the door, bubble gum stuck to the floor and back seat, a kid sprawling on the seats with mommy’s pen, someone peed on his seats, a chunk of lipstick ground into the carpet with someone’s feet, etc. A woman with a rolling laptop bag with a sharp edge slid it across the seat and left a 2 foot cut in his back seat as she left. A little later a guy threw up in the back seat and it smelled like a brewery. He sold it because the smell wouldn’t go away. A RR is a problematic car, with high as hell maintenance costs, you could never justify the high cost per mile with Uber fares. Oh sure, customers would love it, but they wouldn’t appreciate it.

I anxiously subscribed but not was 1 millionth subscriber. well congratulation in advance for your first 1 millionth milestone. You have a great potential man.
The problem is that it'll continue to cost A LOT of money to maintain. Who knows what happens next, it could result in a total write off. He still owes significant money on that car so I wouldn't take the risk. If this was paid with cash and money doesn't matter... keep it!
You're a brave man dealing with cars like that. I decided to buy and fix two Jaguar XJ6 sedans (1985 and 1987, no Lucas electrics) several years ago, and lost my shirt on both. They were beautiful cars, but the resale market was crap and it just wasn't worth the time and effort. The Rolls might be a keeper just for enjoyment if you can justify it.
danger450 far from true lmao u can come across a diablo from the 90s or a countach from the 70s Nd it’s still almost guaranteed that they’ll turn heads. That’s the selling point of a Lamborghini regardless of the year
How does this guy make his living to be able to spend what he pays for these vehicles he buys. Im so jealous of his hustle!😀😀 He exposed the good the bad & the ugly in the cars he purchase. Thats pretty cool!
Hoovie, it's a RR. You are using it all wrong. You should never have to use reverse in a RR. Wherever you go in such a car, you should always be able to drive IN, and drive OUT.
@@andrewnorris5415 , yes--I believe she has a couple of old Range Rovers (2002 Defender and 1953 Series 1), an Aston Martin DB6 and a 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V. She's 93 and still drives them all.
I painted one of those and when I was driving around the shop lot I happened to see the body shop owner. I pulled up next to him and rolled the window down and did the old "Excuse me sir, do you have any grey poupon?" He gave me a smile and and said "But of course."
He could easily add a whole new system with all that for about $500 or less thats up to date with newer cars. Im sure the next buyer will unless he want to keep it stock.
Hope you kept that sick vehicle. Enjoyed watching this for some reason. Maybe as a big time comic book collector. I can understand even car guys passion. :)
Tyler. Keep it! It’s not going to depreciate much more, so you could have it a couple more years and come out the same on it I bet. It’s a nice car, so just hold onto it for family road trips!
I used to watch u on discovery or history channel. Its stop coming on or something. But I love that u where buying used cars puting threw the test then getting to guru to fix them up. Untapped love it.
Exactly this. He can't do content anymore with this car now 95% of issues are fixed, so he just throws BS to not get audience angry for selling a nice Rolls Royce.
Great the way you tell a story ... btw you have a wear spot that shows on the video on the steering wheel. Also .... you can get bluetooth by buying a ROAV little cigarette lighter plug in device ... $16. I use one for my 2006 C-230 Mercedes ... it is fab
Hope you remember me! I was that security guard when you took your roll Royce to the boat dock in Chicago around northernly island for a photoshoot/B-roll video, you were with your wife!
I know this is a year old but I helped my dad buy a cayenne from the the witchita Porsche and they were honestly such a pain to work with. They even after we had bought it told us they were cleaning it for 3 days before shipping (a week after we had signed everything) and it still came with out a decent detailing.
Nice video. I watched an earlier one on this Rolls. When he bought it. A year in a newish Roller and a competent mechanic! $110,000 of unique experience.
100% you can get a radio shop or the car wizard to install a bluetooth adapter kit that will connect to the satellite radio input. Look up USAspec and Grom adapters.
Yep, can even leave it there and do a sub bypass to it connecting the modern systems to the old radio, depending on how it is done can even use the buttons on the original unit.
I have one in an older Mustang that plugs into the cigarette lighter, synchronizes with the phone through Bluetooth, and then rebroadcasts the music through FM radio to whatever station you want. Cheap and works well.
@@Carlos-yz5kz there are some which keep the quality, but they're hard to find. I use a roidmi (I think it's called), it sounds decent and has two USB ports for charging devices. It plugs in the 12v socket.
if you pick just one measure you can make a story to suit any situation their main issue , like most other up market cars, is the complexity that comes with the luxury if you want to drive a cookie cutter car and they dont and are happy to pay the bill, all good
@@yarpos I wouldn't say complexity of luxury cars is what keeps people from buying them. It's the unbelievable amount of planned obsolescence that these major car brands use for profit. For example, let's compare two Luxury Car Brands. One is Lexus, and the Other is BMW. Lexus has quality materials, reliable engines, and on more expensive vehicles, Great performance. BMW has great technology, Wonderful Performance, Notoriety, just about everything you'd want with a Luxury Vehicle. The issue is BMW loves to also use cheap plastic parts on everything they can to keep you in the shop more, or even force you to buy another car. The Depreciation of BMW Vehicles and Lexus Vehicles reflects their quality as well. A Lexus from 2016 can still cost 25-40k right now with average miles, while a BMW from 2018 can probably be found for 20-26k when it originally costed 50-60k brand new. So why is it so hard for BMW to make a Proper car like Lexus? Greed. The Same goes for Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, etc.
@Jimmy Lewis Why did the ornament pop up? He hadn't even pulled the door handle yet. Did he have someone in the car activate it on purpose? Does it pop up on a timer?
Kids like you are so toxic in the comment section. When he said he loves the car he means it. When he said he wants to sell too, he means that if he should sell this so the debt could be payed off he has another cheaper land yacht. This is literally what he said, you should listen more often that playing fortnite kid
Tyler has a different relationship and perspective with cars than most us. I picked up on it as in the past I've been a poverty version of Tyler. Yes, he plays up various angles because that's what the theme of the channel is about. I'm always excited to get notification of a new release from him. I enjoy anything he presents for us, and I hope it's profitable for him. But I'm disappointed that some people throughout the comment section write unkind things. If Tyler isn't a bright spot in your life maybe your time isn't best spent here. A good barometer for this is if you watch a video and won't give him a thumbs-up. Even if you didn't like the content, you did watch it so a thumbs-up is always due for the time and bother he put in to bring it forth..
@@danger450 how is it clickbait it says he went to get it appraised and he did just that your not going to gain any money from having a short video and you do know that buying and fixing cars cost money
At this point, I would fix everything perfect and keep it. Just drive it on nice days and keep it maintained. Nice vehicle. Does not pay to sell it after all the time that was put in to it.
I picked a damaged SLK55 , cost a lot to sort it out and she is still outside now 8 years later . You have to keep them then depreciation is a word you don't have to deal with !
He always does this..buys the "cheapest" car..throws money at it to make it decent again..drives it a bit and then only focusses on the downsides off it and sells it for a big loss to somebody who can't believe the deal he just got. Just enjoy and drive the damn thing while it's without problems. Sell it for the same loss you normally take when problems keep stacking up.
You haven’t noticed that this makes for good viewing and makes him the money to continue doing this? Imagine how much money the videos of this phantom have made over the period of one year, let alone his other cars. Then there are surely tax incentives. The cost of running the cars plus deprecation is tax deductible (feel free to correct me, every country is different, where I live it’s possible). I’m sure he’s not crying into his grey Poupon.
Jokes on you. Boy is making coin, his views are dependent on fresh content. Fresh content needs fresh cars. He is simply thinning the herd to make way for new additions.
There was a Rolls Royce in an assigned parking spot next to my parking space in a garage for 2 years in downtown San Diego when I was a working grad student. I had my first new car, a red Hyundai Accent. 😂 One time, the owner of the RR borrowed my car to go to a meeting because his RR was being serviced. When he returned he told me, “that’s a nice little car you have! Smooth, good power, fun to drive, I like it!”
Want a land yacht? 1977 lincoln town car. Dad had one about 35yrs ago....giant. The 460...10mpg. Didn't matter if you were going 30mph around town, stop and go, or 70mph on the highway. Miss that car. Was like a california king pillowtop bed on wheels.
@@friendlyneighborhoodasianm8707 Tesla's are shit. I am saying that because they have no luxury, the inside is boring with a huge screen stuck right in the middle. I would prefer a Mercedes C or E class which are more luxurious and nicer to drive.
Much better than I thought. And fair. $53k is very good for this car as a straight sale to a retailer that is after all in the business to make money. I think everyone can expect to lose money - a lot of money - when buying a RR no matter how savvy you are. The real question is if the fun you had with it over a year was worth the ~$47k loss.
I don't know. Considering The entertainmentsystem is faulty and that it will sit outside my shop for a while before a buyer comes in... Best i can do is $5000.
if you want bluetooth get a audio control dm-810 it let's you keep everything stock but it also has a bluetooth adapter and it will make your stereo sound even better
FastAndBulbous not really ripping people off that bad I think. They offer close to what dealers offers once you factor in a dealer is just rising the cost of the car you are buying to compensate. Selling a car is a pain, doesn’t matter what dealer you take it too. 🤷♂️
A worry about the misfire being caused by a coil pack. You're not the first encounter with a coil pack failure as a BMW part. It has happened in a 2008 3 - series (320), which has 4 of them. Some unscrupulous dealers insist on replacing all of them, but only one is necessary. Fortunately, all petrol (gas) cars have OBD ll (on-board diagnostics, Mk. ll), and a code reader finds it quickly...
