Love it! The color is really interesting because it looks peach, it looks light pink, it looks terra cotta depending on the angle and the light. I love the way it looks with the wood tone you created! This will be a blessing for whoever receives it!🌸

I am touched by this transformation for some reason. Maybe since covid isolation I was feeling bedraggled and apart from anything. But since getting back into society with real live people this seeing what can change has given me heart. And inspired my furniture transformations also. You have kept us going during all those times,you know. I think whoever gets this piece will be also heartened . Thank you.

I recently bought some of that same wood filler because the label said it was stainable. It is not stainable, it just barely changes color. I had a lot of places where I had to mix some of my own paint to try and match the rest of my little cabinet. I love watching you turn yuck into yummy!

Lets be real.... I have been watching for some time now and you could probably be able to make a sellable item out of a used popsickle stick..... You don't skip the steps and dealing with details even when tempted to do so. You take your time. Everything looks smooth and finished and you take care to see it lasts for a long time even when it is no longer in your posession. It has come to a point that when I see a new piece I almost always know what you will do with it. I know the drill!!!!!

Please be careful with the Simple Green. Thirty plus years ago I used it almost daily and it almost killed me. I don't go near it to this day. I became very sensitive to many things due to my use of it. To this day I still can't even wear any cologne or perfume. The allergic reaction is horrible. It was all due to Simple Green.

Katie, Next time you want to do that "fluted accent" try Pole Wrap, instead of individual dowels or half-rounds, It comes in a roll and you can cut it easier & quicker. Hey! I would really appreciate your candid insight about removing mold from wood. I haven't seen all your lovely videos but expect you've encountered some mold along the way. I have a family heirloom, it's a beautiful Buffet that I grew up with and my now deceased parents gave to me. When my husband and Ioved into our first home we only had one, small living room. So I kept it covered in our closed garage. Well, that's where some mold festered unbeknownst to me. Fast forward, we recently moved and I have a bigger living room where I would love to put the Buffet. I'm highly sensitive to mold (I can't imagine it doesn't effect everyone in some way and we have two little kids 2yr and 11mo) so I have to be sure the mold is out or I'll have to basically take it to the dump... ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please! Yes, I have used a spray but it didn't work. Sincerely, Kai🙂
@salvagedbykscott
@salvagedbykscott Год назад
Hi! I’ve actually only come across mold on 3 or 4 pieces and it’s always on the backer board and the feet. You can purchase mold and mildew killing sprays at the hardware store. It’s the same stuff you’d use in your bathroom. I would saturate any affected surfaces, let it dry thoroughly and then clean it again. Replace anything that you can and seal with a primer like KILZ when you cant.
