We need someone, or several someones, like you in every town. Could you imagine how many pieces of furniture could be salvaged before they hit the landfill, and be given a glorious new life? Amazing! Thank you for your incredible work!
Believe it or not but I have an identical (as far as I can tell) set of drawers here in England, up at my allotment! I will definitely move them down to my house ASAP, in order to refurbish them in an unusual style!
I mean, sure, but what about all those chemicals used to strip the paint, and the non-recyclable cling film used to wrap it while it dissolved the paint?!
A chemical peel, Botox and fillers, new cut & color, a new outfit with eye-catching accessories and a new set of gilded shoes makes for one gorgeous lady!! So much work and attention to detail went into this, how could anyone not fall in love with “her”? Absolutely stunning transformation! 👏🏻👏🏻😍
I believe that your method of always going the extra mile and not taking the easy/quicker way through each step is why your pieces result in a much superior product.😊
I like the choice of the charring for this one. The plywood on top had a crazy grain pattern that reminded me vaguely of Damascus steel and I think the dark finish did allow that to show while covering some of the wear.
It is crazy what removing an old finish and sanding for one whole eternity can do to just bring a piece back to life. Love that top! Nice work my friend!
Amazing! You have an incredible talent for this! I can see how passionate you are by your patience and great care. This old lady is now restored and beautiful thanks to you!
Hi guys. I apologise for the minor issue with the bit of audio around the 1st minute. I have had a lot of trouble with RU-vid and their copyrights claim. At this point I can't do much about it as the video is already public and the online editor is absolute rubbish.
Wow, amazing how this worked out 👏🏻👏🏻 Your woodwork is really impressive! Unfortunately, I just discovered your channel today and I'm happier about it. I think your attention to details is absolutely great. I've always done it that way in my craft. It is often precisely these "little things" that make the difference and are worth it! ✨ You've acquired great techniques by yourself by "learning by doing", that's really cool. And you're showing those little tips here and there, what often can be super helpful. 🙌🏻 I'm honestly interested what kind of basic equipment you've bought to start working on wonderful aging pieces. Can you say roughly what the tools have cost you? It would really help me. Thank you 🤗 I like your vids a lot. Picture and sound are great and your explanations of the individual steps really good too! 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for sharing with us! 🤗
I LOVE this beautiful lady and I'm so glad it was you who felt her need to be saved; and decided to rescue her! 😊 She's simply lovely! Many thanks & just know that there is a real admiration for you, & your artistry.
Brilliant!!! Such a different piece now with character and style…just love it!!! I can see why you get so much satisfaction…you are the equivalent of the greatest cosmetic surgeon!!!! Now she can compete with the other old dames and go dancing!…lol! All the references to the good old Lady was heart warming…but…. I do try to avoid seeing myself as a WIDE DRESSER being saved from either the toxic waste dump or landfill. I think “worm holes” are especially defeating funereal landscape for my future!!! I have a vivid imagination and a cartoon brain but don’t let that stop you from your poetic rhapsodizing about aging and regenerating… very inspirational…not!
I love to watch you work your magic! You have awesome "toys" (tools) to help you bring life into old worn out furniture, but it is your love of wood and the making of furniture that makes you the most awesome at what you do! Thank you for bring back the art of wood work! ❤
It was truly interesting to watch the transformation of the old dresser. You have wonderful tools and most importantly, you know how to use them!! I was hoping to see how you fitted the drawers. They must have needed new guides or side sliders. They were certainly sticking when you removed them. But thanks for all you did show!!!
Once again, it's your attention to detail that sets you & a couple of other YT furniture restorers apart. I've seen others totally skip a step that you went back & worked on 2-3 times. Or, until it was perfect or darn close to it! Thanks again for the awesome content & the hilarious commentary that goes along with it. Ie: "This is slightly discusting but, I think you guys like this. So, you're welcome"! When stripping the paint from the side of the dresser. Boy do you know your audience or what? Stay safe, happy & healthy my friend! 👍
Thank you, I really enjoyed that! I wonder, as you were going to use the burning technique, whether you considered a heat gun and scraper to remove the paint?
Thanks Alan, yes I did, actually used it for a moment. The stripper was mainly because thought it would be lead paint and also because I don’t use it often and people like to watch it 😂
That was very fulfilling! To see all wood surfaces of that old dresser restored renewed and nourished. Completely free! I’ve never seen a video like that highlighting the small details. The final industrial wheels were spot on!
WOW! 🎉 You Completely Re-made this "old lady dresser" into a New, Chic, Stylish Dresser! Wonderful Craftsmanship, and you have a Lot of Talent and Patience! We Enjoyed this Video Very Much! Thankyou! 🙂
Fabuloso trabalho de restauro. Parabens. Parace tao facil. Obrigada pela partilha. Precisamos de mais pessooas assim com amor, paciencia e dedicacao ao teabalho que faz. Bem haja.
What an incredible makeover! Absolutely stunning. Thanks for giving an old lady a new life! I really love the grain on the top of that dresser. So funky and pretty!
Love watching how carefully each piece you work on gets fully transformed into something I wish I had in my home! Simply the best! Love that you explain what you are doing and why and love that you pay attention to refinishing everything from the top, front, inside the drawers if that’s what you are working on, and the back. You touch it all and it shows in the finished product it’s wonderful!
I am that old lady. And hope to transform myself as well as the furniture I do but since you do it better,I will work on furniture using your ideas.... And with the same hard work on myself ,with all that encouragement to see good results
I love that you don't rely on painting every peice that you save. You really put the hard work and time into each one which makes them that much more amazing!
Awesome restoration as usual. Your work has inspired me to get back into furniture restoration. It’s very satisfying to see an “old girl” get a facelift
This is your first video that I’m watching and I really like it! I’m traing to learn this art of restoring wood, and your comments are precious. And I appreciate your way of work!
Как же я люблю видео про "вторую жизнь старых вещей", а Вы в этом деле суперпрофессионал! Храни Боженька и помогай созидателям и мастерам "золотые руки"! Побольше бы их, они украшают нашу жизнь, и быт!
Watched your videos for a long time and enjoy them very much. I love your dry sense of humor and the neighbors friendly cats. You are very talented. Would love to have you for a neighbor.
I got a kick out of the way you referred to this old dresser as the old lady and that the back wood panel support you added was her walking stick! I thought that was very clever! 👍🌞
Lovely result, I wish I had the time and know how to do what you do. I hate seeing good furniture on the road destined to be trashed. Thanks foe giving the old girl new life 😊
I inherited a dresser drawer from my mother in law. The inside of the drawers have an unpleasant smell I cannot seem to get rid of. Would you have any my suggestions on how to get rid of the old wood smell!
That is an amazing transformation. You are a wealth of information which comes from years of restoration work, I’m sure. Another great job. To tell you the truth, that piece was so horrible I thought it was a lost cause. You proved me wrong.
I restored my kitchen door, I have used a product called Klingstrip where you apply the putty and cover with clingfilm over night. It might be a strong product than the bottle chemical peel you used 🤔
Is this what you got from the video? You’re the only person who took it the wrong way. You must have watched 10 seconds of this video otherwise you’d know that your message is silly and could not be further from the truth. Sorry you get easily offended by imaginary insults 🤷♂️
You have so much talent! And you can see beyond the ugly yo the beauty hidden underneath so many layers of paint and grime. So glad that this was restored rather than painted. The grain on the top is fabulous! I cringe thinking of it being hidden!
