In hindsight, this could have been due to a tactical mistake. The 3rd place finisher scored only one point more because she chose 112kg for her 3rd attempt while Mirabai chose 114kg
Heart breaking!!😢😢😢😢 I’m a Movement specialist from India & have been following all your work with Mirabhai, Aaron!! That split second hesitation on the last lift cost her. And she knew it!!! The expression on her face…she knew she had Silver! Well…. And massive Kudos to all the work you both have put in these years! Amazing!
I was watching today! I saw her step up and had to double take. "Is that really ole girl from Squat U?? It is!" So that was pretty cool! You're clearly a great trainer/athlete combo
Qualifying for Olympics is hard enough for an athlete. That romanian and Chinese lifter were really tough competition. Staying on 4th position is also a big achievement.india is proud and love u MiraBai 🇮🇳 thank Squat University staying by her side for this competition 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Absolutely amazing lifting Mirabai you've inspired us all this evening, we were willing and praying for you while watching. I have an 8 and 6year old that were both in awe of your lifting. Definitely had thr best technique tonight. That 111kg C&J was insane.... I will definitely put into place parts of this video in my daily routine. Thank you and have amuch needed rest now.
Mirabai is like a case study in herself.. She is inspiring the whole world... God bless you doctor for the help you are able to give to her and to all the people... Your advice has helped many.. You have no idea.. Even the people who have no relation to sports.
Awesome Just outside the medals still an absolute incredible star and a trailblazer for Indian Olympic sports and weightlifting (which has a grand tradition in Asia)
Awesome to see the inside scoop on her training. Very inspiring how she’s coming back from injury too, I’ll be rooting for her next time again! Your videos are helping me recover from a severely herniated L5/S1 disc. Just squatted 135 for the first time in 5 years last week!
Ever since you started documenting Mirabai's training, I've been so invested. I'm both indian and interested in weightlifting, yet because I don't follow the news enough I probably would have never known we have such a strong presence in Olympic weightlifting. Mirabai ji, aap sach me mahaan ho
I subscribed to your channel because of our Golden Woman Mirabai Chanu's coach and later realized your technique and analysis are amazing.Mirabhai showcased a wonderful clinical Technique of clean and jerk and Thanks Aaron Horschig for your amazing training for our Athlete.Love from Bharat(INDIA)
Thank you for your guidance and getting Mirabai ready for the Olympics. We, everyone in India, are proud of her performance, not just in Paris, but all the time. Way to go Mirabai, congratulations.
And yes, Rebuilding Milo is one of my most reliable resources for training info!! Love it! Would highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with movement. Would love it if you made this into a video course!😊😊😊
I'm an Indian and I can say from experience that everybody here is proud of Meera, She is a role model for Indian Women as well as North eastern Indians. She was a silver medalist in Tokyo, unfortunately she couldn't get a medal this year but this lady has done wonders for moral of young women here.
I was gutted to see her finish 4th. So she managed a 88 Kilo snatch and 111 Kilo Clean and Jerk and a total of 199 Kilos that saw her narrowly miss bronze. If only she could manage to get to personal best. I wonder if its the pressure of performing at a big stage that hinders the performance, it seems fairly obvious but these are elite athletes who practice their craft day in and day out
I took a screenshot of the yoga work poses thinking maybe I could use them, since I hate regular yoga. Thanks for putting it in that layout. Great video and thanks for sharing your Olympic training experience.
Fantastic video and instructional content, huge congratulations to Team Mirabai for a really great achievement to be proud of... when you look at the scoring you see how incredibly close she was to another podium finish... keep up that incredible training and see you in LA 2028 ❤
Mirabai is truly inspiring ❤️ coming from a small town , battling injuries, still wins a medal for her country 🙌 narrow miss this time , but she'll comeback stronger
Thanks for all your tips. I’m sure because of your advise I’ve prevented countless injuries from even beginning and repaired injuries due to lack mobility and stability.
She is a true testament of hard work and sportsmanship. Each of her lifts conclude with a smile, such a priceless gesture in the event where most of the other competitors gave utterly devilish look after their lifts. Mirabai: India is so proud of you❤❤❤
That one failed snatch cost her the medal. Hard luck, because in her 2nd attempt with 88 kg, she looked very comfortable, almost as if she could have done more. Everybody is quite proud of her, regardless.
Aaron - if you have been the master I've followed all these years my respect only quadrupled and lot more for you for these videos. And yes thank you for training Mirabai!
As Indians we are so proud of you 🇮🇳 Your training videos have been such an inspiration to me, especially as I've been recovering from a neck injury. Watching your dedication and passion has motivated me to keep pushing forward. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for all you do!
Congrats for the hard work you put into it! I truly wished you had a 🏅.. almost .. but i think to come from that rough path.. awesome. .. i will give you one for the dedication !! Thanks for sharing the journey. I am fighting my own battles with my body and I found all this so informative and inspirational.. it helped me a lot. 💪 rest and recovery and good preparation for the next one ! Thank you dr Aaron.. You are a life saver 🙏🙏🙏 no kidding.
She's an impressive athlete - she's 4th best in the world - no wonder the other people in the gym were in awe of her, especially the one woman. Obviously she's a great advert for the sport of Weightlifting.
Man, I was rooting for her to take the bronze at least. Your videos of training her elevated my awareness of her. She had clearly put in the effort coming into the competition. I think she had a lapse in concentration…considering C&J was her forte 😢 But, she’ll come back stronger.
