You can make powdered sugar by putting regular sugar in a coffee grinder My mom has never used coffee grinder to grind coffee, it was always for making powdered sugar heh
I remember doing this, not with a coffee grinder tho, because we wanted powdered sugar to decorate stuff! It's nice but the sugar kinda clumps together? At least in my case
@@acaterpillargivingbirth thats why you add some cornstarch! the sugar will naturally absorb moisture and clump together, but with a small amount of cornstarch, you can prevent that!
@@kneepsha i thought about that but didn't want to potentially ruin it (and we were gonna use it immediately) but I'll keep this in mind if i do this again!!
On the gnocchi, As a general rule, when you add cheese to a sauce, always remove the pan from the heat before doing so. If you don't, higher heats will cause the cheese to separate and not combine well. If you remove it from the heat, it will just melt and combine to a nice creamy consistancy.
It also depends on the type of cheese you’re using. Some cheeses melt better than other and an issue we have here in the US. Is that a lot of prepackaged cheese that you don’t buy in a block is coded with powder in order to keep the shreds or whatever from really clumping together a lot and that prevent sauce emulsification as well
If the donuts are chewy, you kneaded the dough too much. What makes them chewy is the gluten developing, and the more you knead, the more it does that!
@@addie1080 this is also why you're not supposed to mix cake batter too much. I used to think "that's weird" when pancake recipes said to stir only until moistened but it really does make a difference! Restraint is a good skill when making food 😄
@@addie1080 It depends what kind of dough you're making! A dough that uses yeast as the leavener can handle more kneading, but recipes that use baking powder/soda for leavening should usually be worked as little as possible🤗
@@shaunacorrigan9372 overworking yeast dough can jeopardize the rising process, though. I think in general it's important to make sure you don't stress the dough too much! Only good vibes for the dough lol
The two ingredient fresh pasta one I’m like…… the vast majority of fresh pasta is either flour and water or flour and eggs they just made a recipe that takes more effort than normal pasta 😭
Btw zu dem self-raising flour: Sally von Sally's Welt hat Backmehl nach dem amerikanischem/britischem "self-raised flour" kreiert, müsste eigentlich in jedem Lidl zu finden sein 🥰
Fun fact: they actually ARE a type of donut!! I'm polish and we make them all the time! We use cream cheese rather than yoghurt though Bonus info: You're actually not supposed to bake the pinecones. Technically you can yeah, however it's unnecessary 🤣 I've made those before with cream cheese and I've also made them with melted butter. If you don't bake them, they keep their moisture and they taste like ✨God's food✨
This "trying international cookies" would actually make an interesting video! I would gladly send You a package with some cookies from my country (as we are neighbours basically 😉). My favorite ones are what we call "mafia cookies" (ciastka mafijne), they are basically layered biscuits with vanilla and lemon cream sandwitched in between them, so simple yet so delicious. 😋
i love white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies 🥺 also my nana and i use to make what we called texas almond crunch cookies. they are like cinnamon and sugar cookies, very crispy, with like thinly sliced almond pieces in them. so yum
Good Tidings Miss Naomi all the way from Richmond, Virginia! Your videos popped up on my feed and I enjoy them so much. As a “mature” (ha!) lady of 61, I especially love your boldness and sass! And, may I say that your music videos show so much talent and creativity that I feel like I’m witnessing a celebrity in the making. Please don’t forget us little broccolis when you become a big star!🥦⭐️🎤
FYI: You can make powdered sugar out of regular sugar. Just grind it in a blender. I did it one day, when neither me or my housemate had any powdered sugar in the house, and was so amazed it actually worked!
I feel like the Oreo sushi would’ve turned out better if you used cream cheese as a binder instead of milk. I make Oreo truffles every year for Christmas and the center is Oreos mixed with cream cheese then rolled into balls and the consistency of those would’ve been perfect to roll out and also tastes much better than I imagine that did
Merry Christmas! For the pine cones recipe the cookies she used are actually stuffed with chocolate in the middle 😅 and also she didn't put it in the oven, she put it in the fridge ❤️ but still they turned out good!
GUYS THE BEST SNACK IS OREOS BUT SCRAP OUT ALL THE CREAM INTO A BOWL OR CUP PUT THE BISCUIT PART ASIDE PUT THE CREAM IN THE MICROWAVE FOR 30 SECONDS SO ITS LIKE A THICK LIQUID DIP THE BISCUIT IN THE CREAM AND ENJOY
Belated merry Christmas Naomi! Your hair and makeup is absolutely on point here, I have a tiny crush. Thank you for another video of delightful insanity, you're amazing as always.
i know the nutella cookies you mean and they are bomb! They are so expensive in NL but in Italy i bought them and they were sooooo good! My fave cookies atm are the ‘sneeuwmannen’ from the brand Bolletje. They are soooooo yummie!
The cookies u saw in the second video are actually a Greek version of Oreos and actually have chocolate cream in the middle ! Sending love from Greece !
18:00 If you want a creamy butter/Parmesan sauce, reserve some of your pasta water and use that in your sauce. The starch in the water helps it stick together and become creamy.
i love your cooking / food videos. I love how you are starting structured and end up doing naomi-style. its always fun and i enjoy watching. merry christmas
Even though you did things a little differently, I'm sure your pinecones were still delicious, Naomi! The pine cones were supposed to go in the freezer or fridge to firm up, no baking required😁 Also, I'm almost positive the cookies she used were filled with a chocolate frosting (similar to an oreo) and sandwiched between 2 chocolate cookies, which is why i think she ended up with more dough than you did. Happy Holidays ❤️🎄🎁
I’m from Romania and my fave cookies are Linzer cookies. They are made usually for Christmas and can be made in the shape of flowers, circles, hearts, filled with all types of jam.
I'm from New Zealand, my favourite cookie is (not a cookie but a biscuit) the ANZAC biscuit. Its a coconut/oat biscuit, it pairs well with milk and English tea.
I have been making the same """2 ingredient""" donut recipe for years. Instead of doing a glaze, I personally mix regular white caster sugar and ground cinnamon, then roll the donuts around in that. It's kind of like soft cinnamon pretzels, and I find caster sugar and ground cinnamon to be better cupboard staples than powdered sugar or butter. I also do it by getting a ball of dough passing it between two spoons to even it out a bit, then drop it into the oil still as a ball. It's then even easier to prep than if I had to roll out the dough, use a mould, etc. They do not hold very well over long periods of time, but if you are having a party and want some easy, homemade finger food, they are AMAZING. The only issue I have is that I can't make it too often because I absolutely always eat through an entire batch in one or two days. I do agree that they do not really resemble donuts, though.
@@BeckyClark552 absolutely! My comment is just to clarify that it is a wig so people don't creat fake expectations concerning real hair and this is something Naomi ALWAYS adresses on her instagram, she doesn't like people complimenting her hair when she is wearing a wig instead of complementing her wig or her looks just to make it clear it is not her hair
I’m from New Zealand and I gotta say that TimTams are the best cookies ever. The best way to eat them is a TimTam slam, where you bite off each end of the biscuit (thats what we call cookies here), and then use it as a straw in a drink of hot chocolate. You gotta try it, its soooo good 🖤
I'm aussie so i love the classic TimTams, and the Arnotts Kingston biscuits. Primary school got me in love with TicToc's, Hundreds and Thousands and obviously, the classic, Tiny Teddy's. (All Arnotts biscuits)
For the pine cones, use a pack of Oreos and a pack of cream cheese. That’s the best way to make the inside part. Then I dip them in chocolate and put them in the fridge
My favorite cookies are from Canada its David's Papineau cookies. A kind of soft cookie on the bottom, a delicious cream kind of thing and a little bit of chocolate on top its so f-ing good
☝️🎁☝️Thank you for always watching and commenting. you have been selected in my draw🎊🎊 Winners should text on telegram to claim prize!! (Just Winners)🎁🎁🎁🎁...
Naomi, there is a tip for you from me: i saw you have coffee blender so if you want powder sugar you can just blend the sugar it makes ,,powder sugar”😊❤
No bake chocolate oatmeal cookies and tea cakes are my favorite homemade cookies. My favorite store bought cookies are Nutter Butters and Vienna Fingers
