I think it’s helpful to take a school mindset - we didn’t need to get 100% in order to get a good education, and you don’t need to do 100% to achieve any of your goals and benefit from them

This is 100% true but a little funny to me because I am recovering from being that person who beats themselves up if I don't get 100% on a test especially on subjects I care a lot about. Focus more learning and not grades that kind of thing

I’m glad more people are promoting exercise in general. Exercise is not just for weight loss, it’s really good for your overall health. My mental health is deeply improved every time I finish an exercise 😊

I used to get out of breath easily from just dancing- until I started losing weight; now i can dance 6 hours straight and not feel tired, i can do 3 hours of cardio not get tired and i can also jump, run and functional exercises and not get tired or sore- if i had stayed the same weight, I’d probably could only just walk and get frustrated that everything would hurt and eventually leave exercising all together- when you take loads of weight off your body you literally feel like you’re floating and even the most tiresome task seems easy

I totally feel you on the more “aggressive” workouts. As a mom, you’re really in the zone of being kind and soft all day- even through frustrating moments. Sometimes blowing off steam in a more rough and aggressive way can just dump out all those feelings that built up and you can focus more on being calm and kind. I used to do heavy power lifting pre-pregnancy and i find myself missing it to much. Just doing something that makes me feel strong and powerful and let’s put the frustration makes me feel so much better after.

From one bipolar to another…be careful about becoming obsessed with closing all those rings. It’s a fine line for me that I’ve had to work to overcome when I don’t get them all closed. I totally agree with the Apple watch rings thing. I have a Google phone and the watch I connect to uses Google fit which measures steps and what they call heart points which is a lot like Apple's exercise ring. It's nice because there are ways to hide Calories, if that's something that triggers an unhealthy habit or mental concern for anyone with a history of ED or even DE.

Agreed. I have a Garmin watch and it focuses on heart rate rather than calories, which I like. The only drawbacks are that it doesn't connect to Google Fit and doesn't have rings (only weekly goals), but hey, so be it. Anyway, all smart watches ought to have some degree of personalization to, for example, hide calories or personalize other things.

It's also deceptive - the calories you burn through intentional exercise is a small blip in the overall calories we use in a day just existing. When I walked ten miles one day and the app told me I burned something like 600 calories doing it, I was mad! 600 calories for all of that work? What. Then I got over it, but I can see how some people will focus on that and just keep going for more and more and more.

Your body responds to whatever you put it through, it's not something that works against you....it's not the enemy. What does my body want to do today? What does my body feel like eating? I need to connect with my body more, I need to wake my body up..You talk about your body like it's another person Your body is YOU, the body can't live without the mind. I have literally been there where I completed all my rings and just missed an hour of standing. It’s tough when you work so hard to meet a goal and you come short, but I’m glad you took it in stride!

I found that I was putting too much emphasis on the calorie goal and it got to be problematic. I was so much happier when I set that goal to 10 calories for the day because it freed up that space in my mind.

I absolutely loved this video. It’s so hard to start a workout routine. I started boxing 6 months ago and fell in love with it. I don’t care about my weight anymore- it’s all about strength and empowerment and noticing improvements in my stamina. This was so relatable & I love how you focused on the idea of me time and moving and connecting to your body versus body image. Thank you! ❤️

This video is what I needed. From January to May I was exercising regularry but because of an unsuccessful IVF I just stoped it. I wanted to find a ay to start it again, but it is really hard even though I know exercise is good for me mentaly. This ring closing thing seems to be a really good idea. I will try it.

Thank you Sierra for continuing to be an inspiration. Your perseverance, transparency, and acceptance inspire me every time I watch your videos. Thank you for sharing your mental health struggles with us, it means more than you realize. Thank you for exercising and inspiring me to connect more with my body and just do what I can. We need more people like you on the internet that aren’t just exercising to lose weight but be healthy and happy. I know you’re frustrated with not having a perfect month but look at what you did! That’s amazing in itself! We’re all proud of you ❤️

This video was so motivating to watch and I love that you did not mention ONCE that you are "exercising to lose weight" or make any correlation between the two which was so refreshing. Also, can I just mention that you are glowing!

Between living in a plus size body and having trauma from high school sport class, I have a complicated relationship with exercise but I’m hoping to make my way back into enjoying exercise as joyful movement away from the negative associations I currently have. I’m so appreciative of you telling your story in this way and emphasising how you feel physically and mentally during it rather than for other reasons. Thank you for sharing this, I’m so grateful.

I can’t do a «30 min a day excersice» thing. It really affects my mental helth very badly. It makes me feel like I can’t take a day off when I don’t have time. That feeling of «I need to do this» is just something I can’t live with. So all my geberal goal is to move as much as I can. If that means having days where I am on the sofa all day, then so be it. Should ad I do struggle with fatigue due to endometriosis, which is why I sometimes need whole days doing absolutly nothing.

Thank you for showing such a realistic exercise schedule that was fun for you and more about holistic health than trying to lose weight or look a certain way. I really appreciate your honestly regarding your mental health challenges and how exercise and moving your body helps you manage symptoms. I struggle with anxiety disorder and can attest to the fact that my mental health is always improved when I find time to move my body regularly. This is such a refreshing and motivating video.

I appreciate this video so much :) when you didn’t get the rings and you were a bit upset about it it reminded me of when I miss the gym for a few days. When you missed the rings all I wanted to tell you I’d it’s totally okay but then I thought of myself and I don’t tell myself the same thing. You are truly a beautiful person

Reminder: "me time" as a mother does not need to be productive. We need down time too. I get irritated when mothers are told that essential self care for our health is now "me time." No. Read a book, call a friend, do a hobby. Exercise while also important, is like telling mothers that showering is "me time."

This comment comes from a a place of love as I am a huge fan and I am very grateful for you and your videos. Why include the aspect of the apple watch in this? Why not just move your body for the sake of moving your body rather than to achieve this imaginary standard to the point where you didn't feel like you did something unless you were wearing your watch? In my opinion, it's not a 'game' for people who struggle with EDs. Fitness watches only encourage disorders the same way calorie counters do.

@@jillhensley4919 I'm not trying to take that away from anyone. Your feelings are valid and you are allowed to do what works best for you. Having said that tho, it's extremely harmful to promote it to a demographic that as a whole has struggled with body image and EDs. Not to mention exclusionary to disabled folks that cant 'stand for a minute' every hour or do traditional exercise.

You crushed this Sierra!!! I feel like people get so deterred from exercise because they don't have the time and or don't find it enjoyable, but being active is supposed to be fun and fit in with your life, which you have demonstrated beautifully in this video. Exercise is invaluable for my mental health, but exercise doesn't need to be strength training/hitting the gym. Love that you include so many different types of activity because at the end of the day you should ENJOY whatever you choose as your exercise! It could be anything from strength training, swimming, pole dancing, walking, hiking, etc. the options are truly limitless

Effectively doing a 90 day video is safer. Say 80/90 days of working out. That gives your audience a lot more habit focus instead of 30 in a row which can be super fad diet/ yo-yo diet -y

I'm afraid the same will happen to me, because I get too into it and then if I won't be able to do it I might feel bad about it. So I will think about it. Thanks for the vid, I enjoy watching you.
