Great content, a video about unit frame addons would be great as well, maybe even taking it a step further to test using elvui for other ui elements, but disabling the module for unit frames and using grid2 in conjunction with elvui.

Some of them might not exactly fit, like Autobar & Opie don't change your action bars, but do give you extra buttons / bindings like an action bar. Love the videos.
I've been using Threat Plates for a while now, and just recently tried Plater, to compare. Maybe I'm not hardcore enough with all the plater settings, but I can't seem to get the nameplates as smooth with Plater, as I do with Threat Plates.
I appreciate it and am glad you are finding them to be helpful! I've always wondered about the differences between addons and couldn't find good answers so I figured I would test it myself.
Once again, Stellar video. I have used threat plates for a while now. It really is great. I have uninstalled it though on my quest to stop mobs from other rooms and levels cluttering up my screen. I am not sure if it is the game itself or the add on, causing the issue. As a tank, too much clutter is death. I at its most basic level , only need to know if I have dependable threat on all mobs and which is about to go eat my healer, AND. I need to know what bad juju my co tank has so I can taunt when appropriate. I am interested in the add ons that notify of an important mob ability. So I will investigate those based on your suggestions! Thank you for your work!
I am not sure if thats the case you are describing but I experienced a similar issue with nameplates. It sounds like you have nameplates turned always on, so it detects the mobs that are in some fixed range and thats why it shows you all of them. Maybe if you can find and turn on a setting to show only nameplates of mobs in combat it could potentially fix your problem. At least that fixed it for me.
@@Galletti95 Oh! I never even considered that. I DO want to see all mobs as a tank, just to be able to see that one lone caster in the corner that just decided to start lobbing crap at us. BUT if showing all, all the time is breaking it thru the floors of maps and all, I may have to adjust as you suggested. I will try that after work today. Thank you for sharing! :fist bump:
@@kimibimi7532 Bringing an old comment back to life here that may be resolved but I believe there is an option for only showing in combat mobs, as well as only showing mobs that are in LoS. I think you can even change the opacity of mobs behind the wall to only be at like 20-30% visibility so that you can see that something is there but it is much less distracting when it’s just a mostly transparent outline of their bar. Hope that helps.
I love the look of the nameplates in arena spectate mode which is why I use threat plates I was able to get it exactly the same in pve aswell and it just looks so clean! Idk why they didn’t have that as default nameplates
Trying to set my ELVUI nameplates configuration. Something that really bothers me and cant find how to fix, is the color of the enemy NPC bars. Once engaged in combat, they turn green instead of red (which i pref). any ideas?
Lol, using a curve to show customizabilty makes no sense when you are only tracking one factor. Even when tracking two different factors to see correlation, it still makes no sense since you are comparing different addons. A bar chart would make sense instead.
Can some1 help I tried plater but only showed mobs health bar above them. It didn't show a health bar above enemy play or friendly. So I removed it I can now see the mobs health and friendly player health bar above there head but the enemy player health bar above there head is missing

I've try toddy plates but I have a problem with. Can't hide my pet bar on the enemy bar with my hunter I've searched every where. It's so ugly to have his green bar on the enemy bar. Except this i like the addon

Hey brother quick question for you. Do you know how to fix the clamping issue with KUI with the tbc version of the game? I have the same settings that you have but when I fight a boss like gruel or mag the heath bar goes off screen, unless I zoom the camera out more I can not see the name plate.
Sure, you can go under the "CVars" options in the Kui settings and then enable "Allow Kui Nameplates to modify CVars" and then adjust the clamps to where you want at the bottom :)
Glad you enjoyed them! They do take quite a bit of work to make, but I am planning on updating them and making more addon videos as well! Just been too hooked playing DF lol!

Good question, it is actually a WeakAura for Resto Druids. You can use it by downloading the WeakAura addon and then Copy the import string on this link: wago.io/cursorcombo. You can look on that website for auras for your other classes as well (not sure which other classes have them, I usually only use on healers when keeping spells on someone is important)
Added to the list :) In the meantime, I'll tell you that 2 of my personal favorite unit frames are Shadowed Unit Frames and a lesser-known one called RUF. Maybe one of those will work for you. They are both lightweight (SUF more so) and look good with some adjusting.
@@ArcaneIntellect thank you! I heal in mythic raid and have my raid frames set up where everyone is organized by role (tanks top left, followed by healers, then DPS, from left to right). Works fine in grid2 but I can’t get this setup to work well in SUF. The vernacular is confusing to me. My “columns” are acting like rows…

If that is all you are looking for you may want to check out an addon like Diminish DR Tracker. It will add color-coding to icons above your nameplates (and party frames) that tell you when diminishing returns are kicking in.
