I decided to try out the throw barb cause it got buffed in Resurrected. Want to become a member? / @thenuclearrabbit I made a patreon! / thenuclearrabbit
Another great video! Cool idea with blood axes, I’ll definitely take it into service. In my humble opinion, the best option for a barbarian thrower is to invest points not in the grim ward itself, but in finding potions, as this increases the reduction of physical resistance.
I've played this character a few times and I'll say that he definitely has his own special vibe. Personally, I really liked him! Maybe I'll even make a video about him someday
Eh, if it happens it happens. Best way to win the game is just accepting it happens every once in a while. If you don't die every once in a while your not pushing it hard enough
I'm really lucky to see your video, I'm curious about your general opinion about the barbarian. I like to get levels without using the "war cry" ability, just with the "doube swing" or "frenzy" abilities, but it's very difficult. "project diablo 2" solved this by giving area damage, but I want the barbarian to have his rightful place in the original version. Am I missing something? Does the barbarian really have an advantage or does he need to be buffed? Last year the dev team made an update. But isn't it still unnecessarily difficult for the barbarian to level up? I don't like the "war cry" ability. A barbarian who deals damage by shouting is funny to me. Please tell me this is not the only fast way
Kind of yes and kind of no. The barbarian needs to very consistently upgrade his damage. Making sure that you have a very high chance to hit also helps a ton. But it will still be slower than the other classes. It's kind of a if you know how to do it, it's not as bad kind of thing. Make sure you hit level 25 in the Flayer Jungle on as high a players count as you can do. That will make act 4 a lot easier. Which grants you acces to eldritch in act 5. Whom you can farm all the way to lvl 35 if you want. Terror zones can be done up to lvl 45-50 ish. But it will take longer than on the other classes. I don't think the barb needs a buff, however I do think melee weapons in general need a buff. The speedrun strat is leap attacking. So I'm gonna say that is the fastest way to do your barb. If your ever stuck on why things are taking long, just look at how speedrunners do it, they know their stuff.
@@thenuclearrabbit i think when we say it’s hard, show us what’s exactly hard. Because often times I think it’s a lack of understanding some mechanics which causes people to think something is hard. Sometimes it’s not really the character fault either it’s the game design. D2/D2R are both basically unfinished games with often a bit of ignorance lol. In short, players over time have learned to make lemonade with the lemons Blizzard forced us to have.
@@thenuclearrabbit hmm what would you consider right gear? Like in the case of a throw Barbarian, in general, I think it’s better off changing some of your thoughts of how to play it. The “popular” build to level is telling you to double swing and mace your way through the game. It works but to me, that’s probably best used as a boss or champ killer and should be on swap for you, not your main skill. That works nicely in the throw package anyways since you have to get it. Double throw allows a form of minor AoE early on. I’ve considered it more of a caster even though it’s physical. If you compare it to say a fireball sorc or hammerdin, you have a window of time where it’s actually better in some cases than those builds. Of course both of them have way better scaling potential. Eventually you are right your going to need war-shrike and lacerator as best in slot gear. But I think most people just don’t realize the options you have until you find or trade for those, which causes the it’s hard spill. I think more or less it’s not luck, it’s timing. You need to know when and where to look for certain weapons.
actually a3 mercs are the worst option imo. for physical builds like this i can't think of a better options than a2 merc with might aura and a reaper's toll, or, if you aren't lucky to get the RT, pick the a5 merc and make him a "lawbringer" rw. the a5 merc is overall tankier and has no hit recovery animation, and the lawbringer isn't that hard to farm for. feel free to try this in your next phys build run.
It does, but it gets the same penalty that all ranged attacks do. So while CB in melee does 25% to normal enemies and 12.5% to champions/uniques/bosses, thrown weapons will do half that (12.5% and 6.25% respectively).
@thenuclearrabbit it used to be good vrs certain builds. Vrs the metas it was a meme 🤣 now... after buffs... it might be busted again idk haven't tried.
@@Deatpunch technically all items should be socketable not just throwing weapons. But blizzard never added those features even though most of the industry did
Dude, your content is amazing. Not sure how you were able to throw with both hands considering his drinking problem.. but must be he really is a throw master with all those points into master. Love the humor!
thinking about doing my barb in SP as throw from lv1... seems like it can be challenging though. doing shouts is probably better if you're not SSF right? love the videos man! keep it up
Great video. I just lost 1 week ago a HC, SSF Barb. Normal and Nightmare was a cakewalk. I would say that throwing is one of the best builds to level up a barb from the start. Decent damage with almost any throwing weapon, low mana costs and very high survability for a "ranged"class. The problem was Inferno, of course. I could not find any weapon which other damage types than physical, plus a big missplay, ended my run. Hope I found before your video because there are some great tips😅.
Thank you! Condoleances on your barb. It's much better than people give it credit for in the early game. I had the same problem in my run. Which is why I went for the act 3 mercenary to get fire damage as well. It was far from perfect but it definitely got the job done. Glad you like the video :)
Good vid, I bought Diablo 2 all those years ago when it first came out....and have never managed to complete it on Hell difficulty to this day:) I think that is another reason why I like watching your videos, other than the terrible puns!
I didn't finish Hell on my own (rushes don't count, right? lol) until D2R, but now I've done it on every char! Get back in the game and get it done; it feels so good after all these years to actually beat the game. ;D
@@thenuclearrabbit it was my first class in D2. I grinded through hell and beat the game before starting another character. Did wonders for my perception of difficulty in the game!
