The video title reminds me of the first and last Smash Bros Brawl tournament I entered when that game was new. It was a small time regional, but the game was so popular that there were hundreds of entrants. So the format used to eliminate players before the double elimination bracket began, was round robin pools. 10-man round robin pools. If you're used to entering tournaments, you might be used to playing two or three times before you're out. Five or six if you're good. For round robin, you play everyone in your pool. So 9 games, before the actual bracket even begins. Over the course of the next 2-3 hours, I fell all the way out of love with that game competitively. I can't imagine putting myself through that crap ever again, especially not for a game like Sparking Zero...
You played extrememly well in my eyes especially with this being a fighting game with many mechanics that you arent used to. Looking forawrd to seeing more content from you as always!!!!!!
Great performance, first of all. 1:18:40 you could do the blast or rush special sometimes for free damage. I know sparking mode is the top priority, but that free special does so much damage. Could’ve possibly changed the outcome
3 character dp battle? I would go goku black, zamasu, and z broly. Broly is obvious. A five cost that can become a top 5 character with super armor against low dp. Goku black is a 5 dp with a quick transformation into rose, who has instant spark. Goku black himself is rlt strong untransformed. Zamasu is underrated too. He has after image strike and a strong ultimate. Plus if you add him you can fuse to fused zamasu, who can also hang with the greats.
Playing this game is fun if youre a DBZ fan. But watching people play it is terrible. It's not the fault of the streamers; these games have always been jenky and awkward.
Yeah, apparently the devs said it’s difficult to implement rollback because of how it’ll interfere with the timing/frames of certain moves and animations. There’s also a chance it could fuck up the camera since this isn’t a 2D fighter like FighterZ.
Diaphone, when are you gonna talk about how broken the core combat system is what with Super Counters, Z Counters, and unblockable supers/ultimates being a thing and how it's not good for the health & longevity of the game? I'm sure you and I both know how bad it is. Bring me on so we can discuss if you want, please.
This game's fanboys are doing their best to make sure it dies in a month man I swear to god. They'll constantly say "it's not supposed to be balanced" over and over again to excuse literal broken mechanics that make the game actively unfun to play, and you just know none of them play online at high ranks if they play online at all. I'm very pessimistic towards the future of this game sadly.
@@steel5897 Wanna play with me? I have an idea that would make the game so much better. Also, holy shit you have the same experience I do. I'm in a DBSZ Discord and I keep telling them how broken the game is and literally their only responses are: "Git gud" "Mad cuz bad" "Game is supposed to be unbalanced". This game is gonna die within a few months if it stays as it is. They literally won't listen.
Lol the fact you think those are the problems is actually a skill issue. Super counters only work if your timing is predictable swap it up. Unblockables are a different story but you shouldn’t be complaining about any of your defensive options when you have so many offensive ones to get around them. People ask for a deep fake and then when it is they’re like omg there’s too many mechanics for me to handle take them out 😂
@@mnonodzilala8508 The fact that you think it isn't a problem is a skill issue, you're not good enough to know how broken these are and make the game non viable competitively. Super counters are 100% mashable and easy AF to get consistently unless you have bad latency with the other player. There are no good offensive options other than ki blasts and unblockables, because there are no true combos and way too many defensive options, including resource free get out jail ones like super counter.
You didn’t lose because of the vanish wars. You lost because you didn’t do anything but spam. All you did was z dash kefla special, or wheelo spam, into yajirobe time out over and over…Didn’t take time to learn anything but cheese. And I love you dude but have some accountability for why you actually lost. Others had cheese too… but none spammed the same shit you did over and over.
Its the like 6th vanish you keep dropping I wonder if the timing is different for that specific one because you always drop the same exact vanish animation. I wish the lab was better. Half of the things I want to lab are not in training like dodging dragon dash etc.
@@PR1ME98 I'm quite disappointed in the vanish wars in this game. Tenkaichi 3 had a tighter window that's why it was so epic to watch. I wish SZ would adjust this to become faster and faster every vanish. But I doubt they'll do it
Try not to spam ki blasts against afterimage strike characters. Your skill gauge goes up quick when you deflect them. So you basically feed the cheese lmao.
To about the unlockable ultimate you can vanish them. I did it against the spirit bomb on accident and then figured out how to do it sometimes based on that. It can be done against Broly as well and based on what i heard someone else say you have to do it right when he stops talking but i was unable to test this with the crap training mode
Honestly even knowing it's not a competitive fighting game (in the sense that it'd be balanced etc), this looks amazingly miserable to actually play. I could kinda feel it back in the Tenkaichi 3 days but as soon as we got "Tiers" of characters that just don't react at all to lower tiers it feels over.
Why not try BT3 and give the opinion of someone that played a lot of fighting games, but's new to arena, and say how this one fair to that without the nostalgic glasses. But maybe just I would like to see it xD
@@2Namii a lot of the mechanics require 30 frames to be more lenient. If it was 60 frames, certain techniques would only be executable in the time span of one frame. That’s why it’s important that it’s in 30 frames and why 60 frames is often not used in competitive tournaments. Ask any T3 player and they’ll tell you it’s a blessing.
@@2Namii I mean, it doesn’t look that bad. Also the reason why I assumed they meant competitively is when people say it’s held back by 30 FPS they’re usually talking about gameplay wise too. It’s been a common complaint that I’ve seen a lot so that’s why it was my assumption.
The first match turned me off so much from this game. No thanks, if that’s the play to win I will never touch this game again. Guess it will only be a fun party game with my friends who won’t do shit like that
Who in their right mind ever thought this would be a genuine competitive fighting game? It's just a game for has beens who only buy games when you tug at their nostalgia strings.
I loved playing bt3 and sparking zero is so much fun to play but yea im over it now because all i see online now is cheese... People running the clock instead of engaging and just plain ol boring after image strikes and yajirobi heals... People wanna win so bad, they'll do anything.
This game looks like some dookie but some of yall are definitely taking this way too seriously lol. If people want to fuck around with a party game its what it is let them have fun. If anyone is coping about this being actually competitively viable in the long term tho you're crazy 😂
lmao this game is so bad, who has more cheese. Giant unblockable burst dash vs insta sparking unblockable ult vs infinite healing stall. Game is legit disgusting.
@@SilverRat-ez2gj Strictly for causals and weebs. Hosting tournaments for a game like this is laughable. Like, what is there to be proud of? It's legit mashing, blocking, and flying around. Fake-combos, unlimited-resource defensive options, and no utility special moves for use in combos.💀
game would be better if it was balanced, regardless of what u simpletons say. OH NO someone criticized my dragonball game D: could be way better, welcome to reality. and i know it probably never wll be, o well, is what it is
I can tell you didn't watch dragon ball with how you say Gero and yajirobe. "Jeh roh" and "yah jih roh bee" is how they say it in the dub. Hope you're liking the game!
As in people who know a good fighting game from below mediocre sh*t that is only successful because it's based on a popular anime? I mean, isn't it REALLY sad that a game like this has a bigger playerbase money than proper good fighting games that folks are too lazy to even try?
It's a competitive fighting game in the same way Elden RIng PVP is. Actually Elden RIng might be less broken, at least dodges there are not automatic, cost proper resources, and you can roll catch and stuff.
As someone who loves competeitve fighting games, WTF is with all these FGC elistits? This game is literally meant to be a mash fest of party game that you fuck around in and create hype moments from the anime with your friends. It's not trying to be serious like Tekken or SF, so why are you all taking it so seriously?
Because the game has an online mode, it has a ranked mode, it distinguishes players by rank (and presumably, skill). The game is offering a competitive experience, the burden of being a competitive game is on it, as it were.
Put this childish monotonous game in the anime dumpster fire please. Every character is a slave to the shallow mechanics to the point that characters don't even an identity and have no special moves for utility purposes. It's mashing, ping-ponging, goofy ass whiffed hits, terrible camera, and gimmicky clash mini-games. THIS IS BORING.
