I Tried Every Candy, But I Have Diabetes 

One of the things that I love about Blau the most is the diabetes facts that he puts into his videos. My dad died of severe low blood sugar due to diabetes so to see someone educating people on the dangers of this makes me so happy. Blau, please continue what you're doing cause its def helping a lot of people understand the struggles that diabetics go through

I almost never comment on videos, but Blau, you explain it very well for people without diabetes. Ive had diabetes for 23 years and it can be a challenge to get people to understand. We also have the same setup so its fun to see how you manage crazy times like a candy binge. Thanks man.

In Ellum’s defense, US Milky Way is a completely different chocolate than the UK/ Australian Milky Way. I think US Milky Way is basically an international “mars bar”. Our Milky Way is like whipped nougat in chocolate.

for all the people who dont have diabetes: medically, the acceptable range is 70 to 120. but everyone has a different average blood sugar that their body is comfortable at and if you go lower than that you get chills and shakes and if you go higher than that you feel like you can drink all the water on the earth and still be thirsty lol there's also your fasting blood sugar which is your blood sugar when you havent eaten before bed and before you eat or drink anything after you wake up. if your fasting blood sugar is too high or is close to the upper limit, then that might not be good. if your fasting blood sugar is in the normal range then you're good. you can also be prediabetic (for those who dont have type 1) which basically means your body is making insulin but it's not making enough to keep up long term. type 2 is very little to no insulin later in life. type 1 (the type blau has, which is from birth) bascially means you're just straight fucked and you have to supply your body with insulin your entire life. you can also go into a diabetic coma if your blood sugar is too high OR too low. source: my mother is type 2 ps: if you have a friend or a loved one who has diabetes, it might be good to learn how their meds work so if you have to help them you can. or if you're like my mom and your loved one has arthritis in their hands which makes using pens and sometimes syringes hard to use.

My mom almost died of heart failure due to high blood sugar two years ago. I remember her having some kind of psychotic attacks when her blood sugar was over 600. That was so painful to see. Thank god, she made it through. Having a bit of education on these stuff is so important. Take care of yourselves guys!

As a type one diabetic whose Halloween has forever been changed since my diagnosis (at age 7, been over a decade now) this was so nice to see! Also, I NEED whatever twitch extension that is that connect with your cgm to display blood sugar, it seems unironically useful lol.

As a fellow diabetic streamer (much, much smaller streamer lol) it is nice to see someone take the time to educate people on diabetes. It's not always a fun time, and can be very severe. I appreciate seeing some representation.

I used to hate candy corn as a kid, but I've grown a liking to them. However, that's just me with any food lol I'll hate it at first, but after trying it more than once or a few times, I'll like them. Blau's detail on candy is pretty spot-on. Chocolate for sure hits diff when it's with another thing.

My mom has type 1 diabetes and so I needed to learn from a young age to help. This video had great education and yet trigger my urge to go help blau .

I love when you do diabetic awareness videos. My eldest kid also has type 1 and has nearly the same CGM setup you do (different pen though). Seeing you do what you love while also managing your diabetes is very inspiriting to them, so thanks for videos like this. Oh, and while my kid's CGM also tops out at 400, when they were first diagnosed (many years ago now), the hospital recorded them at 1100. So only half way to the world record, but enough that it was super scary. Oh, and thanks for putting quality information out there. I've had people say all kinds of stupid stuff to me (in ignorance, but still).

I was in a very bad way once mentally and called an ambulance for help, the paramedics took my blood sugar and I saw the panic in their faces. I’m not even diabetic and my blood sugar was 52, they said “People with blood sugar this low will be unconscious. How do you even have so much energy?”

Butterfingers are good but have you tried a Wunderbar? It's basically a peanutier Butterfinger from Canada. I agree about salt water taffy. I used to hunt it down at a store that made it fresh while on vacation. They had all different flavours too. I've been trying Japanese candies and snacks. I got some Soda flavour HiChews. So good. 💜

My entire younger life, as I could remember. Anything too sweet made me feel sick. My mom asked me one easter when I was maybe, 8? why I never eat the candies(more specifically jelly beans) in my basket. Then I told her how they made me feel. Apparently when I was a toddler I was found unconscious. Next to a jar of Jelly beans pretty much my size; half gone. Had to be rushed to the hospital, stomach pumped, and put on a type of life support system to prevent me from going into what they called the time a 'sugar-coma'. I literally OD'd on sugar. (pls don't flame my mom on this though. >.< my dad had his custody with me and was a substance abuser that no one knew about at the time of this jelly jar incident.) Long story short, crazy what your body remembers when your conscious doesn't. When she told me, it ALLLL made sense.

I'm not a diabetic, I do not know the rules. I do however eat raw cubes of sugar in the mornings cuz I feel like passing out when doing physicall stuff (when I go shopping I buy none of those in Blaus list, I preffer to buy sth like steak) So, am I ok or is there sth I should take care of?
