Patrick first began to notice hair loss at the age of 21. It started with noticing more hair around the sink and feeling like his hair was getting thinner. He began to use minoxidil for hair growth but hated the white flakes that would be all over his clothes from it. This led to a comb over style hair cut to try to cover up most of the balding. He also took to using hair fibres and wearing hats all the time. Patrick tried a hair system but it really wasn't for him. Noticing this hair loss was taking up too much mental energy he is now ready to move past it completely and opt for a new direction. Acceptance and a shaved head!

I love that moment of “just do it” and then the look of relief that he finally hit that point of no return and took that first swipe. I remember that moment and it was so freeing! I also remember thinking my face would look so fatter (I have a S&P beard), but in reality it streamlined my entire face, and did the same for Patrick. So many guys look so much better bald.

Wow that bald look is 10000 times better than with hair, and you can do everything now, swimming, walking in the rain, walking in de wind, no more hustle in front of the mirror, no more low self esteem, and you look much better, its a win win win situation !!!! It looks good, brother! Embrace the bald look! Just watching you shave it off, I could see a weight lifted off your shoulders. Videos like this from Baldcafe just keep inspiring others. I shaved my head back during the Covid days of 2020 and haven't gone back. One thing I learned from this channel, Balding is not a choice, being bald is. Also, from my experience when you meet new people, they're not going to question why you're bald.

Wow what a transformation you look so good and so much younger, it just amazes me that us guys who have lived in fear of going bald take the decision to shave it short and within a very little time we want to go even shorter with a razor cut, you mentioned lack of maintenance but you will now be shaving your head every 2 to 3 days and loving it, I have been using a headblade for a easy and very close shave/cut....enjoy your new life

My father has been shaving his head for as long as I've been alive, he still has a fantastic hairline for his age, but he chose to shave anyway. Knowing someone like him who confidently rocks the shaved look by CHOICE has completely eliminated any sort of stigma around shaved heads that I may have had. While I am nowhere close to balding I still shave my head for the convenience and because my father taught me to love the look haha. I hope more men learn that shaving your head isn't admitting defeat, it is CONFIDENCE!! Lovely video.

I think i lucked out in the hair department, on my mother's side they have really good hair, even my grandpa being in his early 90s still have thick hair, so does his brothers, his father was the same, my mother has really thick hair as well, i got a direct copy of my grandpa's hairline, i am close to my 40s and i have the exact same hairline and thickness as i did in my early 20s. I am very thankful for not having to deal with genetic hairloss, it looks awful on young men.

Looks great! I'm 45 and began balding at 15 years old but didn't accept it until I was 25. Shaving my head was the best decision I ever made. Having this kind of support would have been amazing!

*I learned how to deal with my balding from my father and my grandfather. They kept the sides trimmed up and walked around like a G. I learned how not to allow my hair to define me nor own me. I started to lose my hair at a way later date but, luckily, they taught me how to drop that weight and walk tall.*

Watching these videos finally gave me the courage to go ahead and shave mine, I started balding when i was 19 and i tried everything i could to try and hide it, eventually it got so bad that it was pretty much impossible to hide and everyone would always point out that i had a bald spot and that my hairline has been receding, Ive always gave it a lot of thought to just go ahead and shave it all off and get it over with but i was nervous that i wouldnt look good without hair. Watching these videos finally gave me the courage to shave it off today and i honestly feel so much better, its just a huge relief to not have to constantly worry about trying to make my hair look a certain way. If anyone is thinking about doing it you might as well just do it, i promise youll feel so much better, your friends might say something about it, but it'll all come and go, plus think about the amount of money youll be able to save on shampoo and conditioner 😂

I shave bald but always wear a beanie. It's been so hot this summer I realized how insane I was trying to pretend it was normal to be rocking a beanie in direct sunlight, at the gym, etc... I've been two weeks without the beanie and honestly I can believe how much time I wasted being obsessed with always grabbing it before I left the house

Looks great. (as expected!) I've been shaving my head, for the last 3,5 years or so. At first out of necessity, as all barbershops were closed for several months due to corona. I fully understand the doubts and fear of taking the clippers for the first time and just do it, but I never looked back since and I'm totally happy with it now. Still,...if it wasn't for the Baldcafe channel I don't know if I'd had the courage to take the plunge.

Fair play! Takes alot of courage to remove the guard from the clippers. I started thinning when I was 22 and spent 18 months trying to master the comb over. Then one day shopping in Sainsburys some young lad shouted "Melon Head" at me. Enough was enough. I wasn't taking this crap anymore so went home and shaved the whole lot off. Haven't looked back since

Im 55 and still have most of my hair but if I had thin hair I would just keep it shaved or very short…theres nothing to hide just be you…life goes by really fast and you will regret the time and energy wasted worrying about hair loss..

Loved your honesty and that you could share your story with all of us. I went through the same thing as you and tried SO many of the same "remedies" that didn't work. It became a viscous cycle and I got sick of the same old results. I started shaving my head about 15 years ago and it was such a release of insecurity! I felt more confident and happy and saved a lot on haircuts lol I think you look great and the combo of the beard looks awesome! You look great! Shave it down to 0 with electric shaver. I shaved my head for the first time last month due to thinning hair as well. I felt apprehensive at first, but now feel great! I recommend the Braun series 9 pro. It gives a smooth blade like shave with no risk of getting cut.

Getting over the mental problem of thinking you still can look good without hair is the battle. When today still society makes balding the butt of a joke. The ultimate insult. That is another problem.. This guy explains clearly the whole progression of going though loosing hair from a younger age to getting a little older. I am in my single 50's yes still but still sadly have that instinct to want to put my hat on when an attractive girl is around. Not going after young girls but even for older women still have that stigma and I shave my head for 20 years but can't get over the mental problem of thinking I look good without hair.

Are you on 💯 with other areas of your life? Grooming, hygiene, style of clothes, interests, body, finances? Focus on the things you CAN control and be excellent at it. Women don’t see bald heads when everything else is on point! However, baldness is not a plus when the other areas of your life are lacking, including true confidence, which you will have once you focus on what you can change. ☮️🌻

Have been shaving my hair since high school - Now in my 50s I'm letting it grow - and to my surprise - my hair is full and have thick hair. I have always liked my hair super short - almost bald (1" on top and 1/2 fade on the sides), and now with this full head of hair - I'm enjoying it. It feels great until the wind hits it as I'm driving - but other than that it feels good to have hair.

Can agree. Not balding either, woke up one day and saw myself in the mirror with horrible bed hair. Instead of combing I decided to shave bald and I love it. The feeling is nice and I don't need to style my hair anymore. Keeping it smooth from now on. Maybe I'll grow my hair out again in the future, but for now I'll sport the bald look.

After doing everything possible to save and replace your hair, experiencing frustration overload and emotions shot, I'd say you look hands-down better with a shaved head, no doubt about it! Your emotions and frustrations with every fail were very well explained. People who're losing their hair will benefit from this video. I bet you wish you had done it years ago and saved yourself from the torment.

He didn't try everything possible, he tried everything that's non effective and didn't try the only effective solution - hair transplantation, he would saved himself from years of torment and have full head of hair, which he obviously wanted to have. Hair transplantation is one of teh best decisions that i made, the only thing i regret taht i didn't do it years ago.

@@wellingsrob4 Transplant not working was 20 Years ago, as for not being able to afford it, check proces in Turkey, it is so cheap, even with flights it's quite affordable, especially considering how much most of people spend on all the stuff that doesn't work before they decide to shave their head.

My dad has hair my mates have hair but I'm balding bad I had a hairtransplant and I've taken medication but still my hair falls my advice is take the shave see how you feel befor making any decisions I no alot now about hair loss but didn't when I made bad decisions I've got a nasty scar of transplant. Try Finasteride, Minoxidil 5%, and derma roller 1.5 length for a year before you shaved it off forever.

Finasteride and minoxidil. I'm a little older than you and started a year ago and my hair loss seems to have stopped completely. I rarely ever see hair when I shower and I've had a regrowth and density that I didn't expect. I got on early, before anyone else would have been able to notice and looking at my dad and grandpas the hairloss was only ever going to be diffuse thinning because they still have hair. The sooner you start the better and the less aggressive it is, the better your odds.

@@wolves1980 Oral. Topical is for those that report side effects, which effects a small minority of men. It's also easier to commit to, taking 1 pill a day is easier than putting some solution in your hair every morning or night.

good job man, I am the same I had thick curly blond hair right up to my early thirties then it started receding quite quickly, by age 40 I shaved off I am not precious about my looks never have been so it was not a difficult transition for me as it would be for many men, I am now 51 I have about 60% hair loss now, I am still attractive and still get attention I look after myself physically and exercise often I think keeping to an exercise regime is important it give you confidence in yourself, many guys Ive met who have lost their hair just give up on their health when they lose their hair put on weight and go to seed. BTW I tried Minoxidil in my late 20s it really had a bad reaction on me and increased my blood pressure its a dangerous treatment and anyone who intends to use it should speak to their Doctor first as it can lead to long term health issues it also reduces your libido. I don't think about my hair anymore, no trips to the Barber anymore I just shave my own hair with clippers once a month, I worry more about the mundane stuff now like paying the bills.
