Laos used to be under French occupation, so not too surprising. Norwegian would have been surprising. The occupation is also why you can find good baguettes in a Thai/Cambodian/Laotian grocery.

this reminds me of years ago. I had a huge fight with my bf and we broke up. i was on my way home... from my bfs house. lol i had been crying and i was sad. on my way home. a man approached me and said i looked sad and he wanted to cheer me up. i think he saw my eyes were puffy from crying earlier. he asked me what happened. i told him my bf and i just had a huge fight and we broke up earlier in the day and i was on my way home from bfs house. He said come walk around the city with me and since i was feeling sad and felt like i needed a distraction. i agreed. so we walked around the city talking for 2 hours. talking about life, and music and we ate mcdonalds for dinner and he was kind enough to pay for my meal. after dinner i told him it was getting dark and i should go home.. i don't know his name and never got his number. he never tried anything. he never asked for my number and i never asked for his. i think he knew i was emotionally unavailable because of the situation with my BF but the memory of that day lives on forever. it was one of the kindest things a stranger has done for me during a moment when i was very sad and lonely.

Totally. And the gold of history people are passing by everyday without realising. Living in a very small town that doesn't really have that many preserved historical buildings, or any place that carries such heritage I am so impressed by all of those streets and that atmosphere. Europe is truly an amazing place to be.

Nah, she wasn't too interested romantically, if at all. I feel they got on ok, and had a good time as fleeting friends, but she was happy to get home and chill alone. The romantic music and the parallels with the movie easily corrupt people to see things which are not there, simply because they romanticise the "idea" and wish it was so.

There's this guy I see almost everyday on the public bus on my way back home from college. We both have noticed each other but we have never spoken. So it had been many days since I saw him, but few days ago, he jumped into the same bus that I was in. As he entered, we happened to see each other and out of nowhere, I smiled at him because I was so happy to see him again. It would have been weird if he didn't smile back, but he did. We both smiled at each other and he stood right infront of me the entire time but still we couldn't look at each other after that. That reminded me of this movie. I am not sure if I should reach him or not. He seems like a good person.

Aria’s videos are quickly becoming some of my favorites on BuzzFeed. You can tell he has an artist’s eye for the beauty in human connection. Honestly I think these videos are important in showing how going out of your comfort zone may not be as hard as we perceive it to be and he’s showing that.

I'm from Austria.....I actually live near Vienna and it's by far my most favourite city. I just love the history of it, the architecture, the fact that Vienna is apparently really green and modern but at the same time really old-fashioned with its cafés and theatres...... I love it so much xd
