This has been helpful. Italian/Puerto Rican girl here. I have very thick, very coarse, very frizzy and dry hair/scalp. I was recommended this stuff a year ago and given a half empty jar to sample. It honestly did wonders for me on all fronts. I started using it very lightly in my scalp's problem areas, working down the shaft with whatever very light excess I had on my hands and it's changed the condition of both for the better. For me a little goes a loooooong way. I use less than a dime sized glop of it in my hair after a shower, and my hair actually acts normal, lol! I was so used to having weirdly wavy in some areas, straight in others, extra poofy, extra thick hair that only obeyed when I took a hot iron to it. This stuff, paired with Luster's Pink Conditioning Shampoo & Conditioner has made my hair soft, smooth, managable. Which is awesome because I started doing the "all natural" thing two years ago and threw out my flat iron because I want to grow my hair out past my waist. Finally finding these products have completed washed away the nagging little "bad hair day" voice in my head that would always be like "Aren't you sorry you threw away your flat iron now?" Whenever I was trying to make my hair look nice and failing badly. Problem was I was using the wrong products. Grew up in a majority white neighborhood, and the hair care selection in the local stores reflected that. I felt so lost and confused going into my first Black Girl Beauty Supply Shop. There was soooo much! And so much of it I had no idea what it was or did! I walked around for a half an hour looking around, feeling like Jack in Nightmare before Christmas when he discovered Christmas Town, all like "🎶 What's this?! What's this? There's hair grease everywhere? What's this? There's the scent of Shea butter in the air! What's this? Do I used this product if my hair is not nappy, or would that just be daffy? What is this?! What is this...🎶", Lol. But now at least I know where to go to get what I need. Only wish I had figured this out years ago.

I'm wondering, is it advisable to apply it to the scalp, maybe just a little to enhance hair growth? Or will applying on the hair alone still enhance hair growth? Because I want to use it majorly for my hair growth.
@LimitlessBloom
@LimitlessBloom 3 года назад
You can try but I wouldn't advise it because it can sit on your scalp and block your pores which could cause pimples. i prefer to use oils and butters that easily penetrate the scalp. That way they can reach the roots of your hair to stimulate hair growth. Applying products to the length of your hair will only strengthen the hair itself and not stimulate growth. Hope this helps
@Cpre1111

It's safe to apply to the scalp. It's thickened my hair and I only apply it to my scalp. I clarify shampoo my hair once every 2 weeks. Great product.

@LimitlessBloom
@LimitlessBloom 2 года назад
No even though it gave good results here in terms of definition it’s not great for long term moisture retention. The best thing to do when your hair is dry is to moisturise with a leave in cream and seal with an oil or butter. Please note this was just an experiment and not an everyday routine. Water and oil on its own is not a moisturiser. Hope that helps

I think only people with afro textured hair can get away with using grease as our hair can be very dry so it helps to retain moisture. Someone with straight silky hair wouldn't need to use grease as that type of hair does not need the type of moisture afro textured hair needs because the sebum from their scalp is able to travel from scalp onto the hair shaft easily which is why that type of hair gets greasy easily, doesn't need oily products and needs washing more frequently. I hope this makes sense 😊

@LimitlessBloom 4 года назад
Oh I see. A lot of these things you won't know until you try. That's the only way to find out what really works for our hair sometimes since everyone's hair is so different and climate where you live plays a big part too. So definitely Don't be afraid to experiment with different products. If it doesn't work then at least you know 😊 Also how do you moisturise your hair? I only moisturise my hair in sections and only brush or Comb after it's been moisturised with water, cream then oil or butter which really helps. @LimitlessBloom
@LimitlessBloom 9 месяцев назад
Hi I’ve never lived there so I won’t be able to tell whether it can help your hair growth or not. I personally prefer to use light oils instead of butters or balms on my scalp cos it would clog my pores and give me spots. However others may do it and it’d be fine for them as everyone is different. You can apply any hair oil to your scalp either once a week or twice a week. It’s just up to you . I don’t wash the oils out if I’m using them on my scalp for hair growth . But if I’m using it as a pre-poo treatment, I use a lot of oil on my scalp and hair then let it sit overnight or a few hours before washing my hair. I hope that makes sense. If not don’t hesitate to ask 😊

@LimitlessBloom
@LimitlessBloom 4 года назад
Omg both sides took forever. I had to use a blow dryer sevel times to get them to dry in 3 days just so I could film this video😭. But I'd say the grease and water side took longer. I guess the water had no chance escaping lol everytime I squeezed I'd get a bit of water on my fingers. Very frustrating lol so probs better for styles you plan to keep for longer instead of twist outs and braid outs
@LimitlessBloom

Also there was no significant difference in moisture both sides were very soft. I moisturised both sides with cantu shea leave in then put then protective style on that same day.
