Exactly what I wanted to know--thank you. Plus the added bonus of the quirky retro music, witty imagery, and clearly honest, zinger-like commentary.

No one EVER covers the single person angle. Thanks for this! They've changed how they ship and present their food since you posted this, but my overall impression as a single guy is roughly the same. You need a decent amount of kitchen space and some of the prep options are a bit lackluster because HelloFresh seems to have a set of 'go to' ingredients and prep methods for them. All said and done.. it's decent - but can get restrictive when each 'meal' is two days worth of food.
@lawgirl2007

I read on other videos about some people saying that Hello Fresh is expensive, but I don’t think it is if you live alone. If you live alone you can order the meals for 2 people for 3 days, and because you’re a single person that means you have 6 meals for the week. Just eat the other meal the next evening for dinner, etc…
@jrock865
@jrock865 Год назад
why not just go buy the stuff find a recipe yourself and doing things for yourself and save a ton than use this nonsense. These meal preps and food prep things are just high sodium high calorie high cholesterol foods...and then paying them to basically just hand u ingredients makes no sense.

I've been looking at it & the cost per meal doesn't seem to be any greater than what I'd pay buying the ingredients at the grocery store ... but I have NOT been able to find "meals for two" at Hello Fresh or any of it's competitors. It's all meals for 4.

Subscribed! This is my first video of yours, but I love the straight forwardness. My husband works out of town and I have two kids on the spectrum who don’t really eat much other than bland carbs. This has made my life soooooooo much easier. Definitely more costly. But for the right person, it’s so worth it

This is my pros and cons PROS: Easy to follow even when you are not a good cooker It helps to improve your cooking skills It's healthier than eating out at fast food places You save some gas $ Less food wasting because they give good exact amount of food you need depends on how many people per serving CONS: You do need to spend $ on Kitchen Accessories Without oven or cookware you basically can't make the food It's not really time saving. Ordering food delivery or going to a nearby restaurant to get a take out is much faster It's not really $ saving. You can still save $ by planning your own meal plan. Food is good but not amazing. If you just follow youtube and learn how to cook. You can make tastier and better food.

I think meal kits are good for young adults. I wouldn't say do this for the rest of your life . Also not going grocery shopping yourself, your missing out on your community/social skills . Pros and cons but not so far off on either

I don’t have a car tho. To go grocery shopping I mostly always spend $25 only on transport if I gotta go to the store. This seems like a good option if you don’t have accessibility

It is for lazy younger generation boys and girls who live on their own students etc to learn how to cook for a short while. After a few of these meal kits lessons they can go with more confidence grocery shopping and cooking on their own. I dont doubt it was somewhat developed with this idea in mind too to motivate people to go grocery shopping and start cooking at home.

Do you think hello fresh is a good investment for a college student? I am interested in saving money, eating healthy and cutting my food costs to be low whilst still getting nutrious meals. So is this broke- college-student friendly
@angelicxdude
@angelicxdude Год назад
Short answer, I don’t believe its a good investment. Without discounts and promos it can be a bit pricy tbh. Though if you still want nutritious meals you can still utilize their recipes at no cost.

Its good to help learn how to cook, but I imagine after you've done it a few times, its probably better to cancel your subscription and just get the ingredients yourself. Just save the instructions somewhere.

@davidsworld5837
@davidsworld5837 Год назад
you have missed that any meal may have an item in it you do not like, but have paid for. Just buying the items yourself is likely to save you at least 50% of the price that Hello fresh charge. AND you have to be in to wait for the delivery coming. A 2 person 5 meals full meat and veg price is £9 a meal. I would say it is very easy to make anything they have cheaper yourself. if you are so lazy you can not look up a recipe and buy the items you like in that recipe. Instead passing the job to a company to do it for you and paying them. there is no real time saving you still have to go to the shops anyway. this is only 1 meal a day, so you still have to shop for other meals you are having. ending up with items that are cheap any way to buy, like pasta, potatoes and rice. and herbs that last for years since dried does seem poor.
