This video is THE reason why I wanted to get into Krav Maga. I've been doing it for about 5 months now and I am completely loving it! As a woman living in a big city, I feel more confident walking down the streets at night and just more empowered as a person. Thank you SOOO much Sorelle! You've impacted my life hugely
YOU ARE SO INSPIRING! As a frequent solo traveller, I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences from the 1% that ruins the good stuff for us so this is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been looking for. I’ll be back in Aus for a longer than usual amount of time soon so I’m definitely signing up for Krav. Thank you for this very very important video!
Once you've trained, your strength and skills are greater, but more so is your restraint: martial arts build restraint at a multiplied rate over physical skills; same with marksmanship, a martial art accessible to all, including, for example, the physically impaired survivors of abortion. Train yourself. Improve the world. Travel. Teach.
Krav Maga is basically all the martial arts out there but half as good, if you really want to learn a martial arts for self defense the best thing you can do is a mix of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai
Well, as an Israeli woman who served in the IDF and had to take some (very very unefficient) Krav Maga classes... You've made me want to actually learn it in civillian life as well. Good job taking on the challange! You're such an inspiring woman :) Oh, and I wanted to add that women aren't 'allowed' to serve... they're obligated to, just like men are
@@blessthefall7160 I actually had a very meaningful serving. I interviewed people about to get enlisted to see if they can handle it mentally and saved dozens of people from potential emotional damage and even suicide
Heck yeah!!!! I've actually been thinking about doing some sort of self-defence for a while now. I'll be on the lookout for some classes! Thanks so very much Sorelle, you are very inspiring.
I was practising Krav Maga over the summer last year. Great learning experience and I really feel that self defence is a vitally important thing for everybody to learn. Especially since travelling I've had situations I would have been much more comfortable in had I known how to defend myself, I appreciate you spreading the message
THIS is why i try to tell every girl and woman to do martial arts. It's not only good for the body, it's the change within yourself that will amaze you
To be honest, even knowing krav maga, don't take a chance with anyone with a knife. Don't learn to many moves to quickly, learn you fundamentals. Distancing, defense. You drop your hands alot and you close your eyes. Your training isn't bad but keep it up more then 30 days. Don't have it be just a challenge. If you want to be good at self defense it needs to be constant. Do some sparring, with big or smalls gloves. Not to be negative but the world is indeed a beautiful place but you can't act like there's no danger.
Who is ever gonna take a chance with anyone with a knife. They say all the time that during a knife fight you’re sure to get cut or stabbed. Ps. Disregard this comment when you have a gun.
Why do people like you always use the word powerful? It literally an over exaggerating word that is used for way more specific things. If you want to refer to someone who is good at what they do there are many other words to use.
@@aaronmariscal7983 Oh hey, yes there are probably a lot more words to choose from but I chose the word ‘powerful’ because i have the right to choose whatever word i want, and whatever word I think that describes exactly what i want to express, or what I mean. I mean a word has most of the time its exact meaning, and next to that every person has the right to interpret a word. So, I don’t really understand your comment. Ow yes, and English is not my first language so what words do you think would be better alternatives? PS: what do you mean with ‘people like you’? that is a bad argumentum ad hominem. LOL watch your words :)
This made me so unexpectedly emotional! It's beautiful seeing you develop the ability to truly save your life, and I'm inspired to put in the effort to be able to do the same if I ever needed to! Thanks for sharing your experience and inspiring others to take care of their bodies!
Amazing! I did Krav Maga for 6 months and they were the best months ever, I never felt so confident and healthy. Great that you gave it a try and talked about this with so much respect!
I've been training and teaching KM for more than a dozen years with students from 17 to 77 and experience from black belts to newbies. My favorite students are moms with their college-age daughters. It is amazing to see the transformation about 1/2 way through the course when they stop being tentative and start being aggressive. One of the great things about KM is that it is based on major muscle groups and gross motor skills. Another is it's adaptability. For advanced classes, I've added a few simple wing chun, systema, and BJJ techniques (like how to deal with someone on top of you). Everyone needs at least some basic self-defense skills and there are none better than KM.
I was recently thinking about taking a self defence course! This is perfect I'm so gonna do this! Sorelle you're amazing and I looove this video so much! Thank you for all the inspiration you've given me so far!
I'm personally not a fan of self defence courses. They give you a false sense of confidence in your abilities and the most you'll get is a greater awareness of threats potentially, which is about the only good things that tend to come from them. You wont learn to fight or be any better off in a real violent encounter with such minimal training and understanding. If you are serious about self defence, you learn to fight properly and train for it regularly. Find a good teacher and train for years. not a weekend, a week, or a month.
If you’re taking KRAV I’d recommend adding some form of grappling training to your self defense regimen. Just to round out your training a bit. Can never be too prepared
Been doing Krav for 6 months. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life.at 46 I am now able to be more confident that I can deal with any situation. Its improved my discipline and made me realise drama & arguments ie script are insignificant and to be ignored unless there is a violent threat that's the only time for reaction. Sorelle you are truly amazing how you conquered Krav in such a short time. You are so inspiring. Like a comment made before this self defence martial art should be mandatory for all especially for girls. I would love to be as good as you one day..thanks again and all best to you and everyone that has the brains to get involved. Sending you peace and happiness😊
Self defence is a vital life skill, I've dabbled in various martial arts my throughout my life, even volunteering in the police for a year to learn more; then I trained my kids when they were very young in basic self-defence techniques...And this week, I'm starting a new class, I find it amazing the timing of this video. I've not taken a class in over 15 years...I tend to train in my garage/gym...now I want the discipline and social setting of a class, plus I'm taking my now teenage son with me...I can't wait. Awesome Video.
This is amazing. I would love to take a class like that. I'm really short and I have cero upper strengh and I'm always using public transportation. MKDI come to Puerto Rico!!!
IKMF is the official international krav-maga federation, you should be able to find a school with that. I've already had a visiting instructor from Puerto Rico, so it should be there somewhere. P.S. Every krav-maga school linked to IKMF is also updated with all the moves, becasue they will change it when they notice something works better in real life.
Hey! Soy de Puerto Rico y he estado buscando escuelas de Krav Maga acá. Descubrí una en Guaynabo que se llama Combat 360. No he tenido la oportunidad de ir. Hay varias más. Busca Krav Maga Puerto Rico y te aparecen.
Amazing amount of hard work you've done Sorelle!! It is so important for women, especially solo travellers, to feel safe and be able to protect themselves if the need arises. You continue to blow me away with your strength and realness. Much love!
I think finding your channel has been the best thing that's happened to me on RU-vid. It's amazing, inspirational and so educational.gives me chill everytime
Really glad that you had this experience. I did Krav Maga for 3 years, and boy, it is awesome. I completly changed as a person, and you will carry this confidence for life, it's so worthy. Your video inspired me to go back to martial arts training. Cheers
oh my god, this is so good, i hope people are inspired to train a bit and learn to defend themselves, because i absolutely agree with you. The feeling of being in control of your body and being able to walk to places with confidence and awareness... That is gold, that changes things in your life you wont expect. It is worth it. oh i didnt know the video i saw about someone trying wim hof method was from you as well, nice :D
I was literally about to enroll in a krav self defense course the week before covid quarantine struck here. Now I'm even more pumped to get at it once able to (they're still closed). My job often has me out in the woods with strangers, most are men and most armed with knives and guns (for hunting), I also do a lot of solo hiking and camping, and have many other hobbies that put me out in the world and landscape alone. So when I found krav it really caught my attention. Thanks for this video and getting my blood up to want to learn to kick some ass without needing a stick (I sword fight too) or a weapon.
@@meeravanhelfteren9142 Same! Starting on my 3rd term now (I've gone 1 year!! Yay!!) of Krav Maga and I'm really looking forward to it! Gl and keep up the awesome training!
@you ultimate h o e Definitely so far! Though you have to put in your own effort to see to it that you learn the moves as best as you can, it's excellent training and very useful!
I started looking into krav maga because I wanted to prepare myself for the military and it also was a good way of seeing if I could handle it! So glad you did this, it gives me home!
This is easily BY FAR the best, the most entertaining and inspiring video you have created! Thank you for being an artist who continuously evolves and wants to impact the world in positive ways
Great video... I love the fact that you put such emphasis on the mental transformation as well. I hope you continue to train Krav Maga and in general keep spreading positivity with your channel. Best wishes from Berlin, Germany
Effing awesome, lady! When you learn some techniques through such hard work, you move differently, walk differently, think differently--not ever like a victim or prey animal again. Kudos to you and your expanded freedom to see the beautiful world!
You are exactly right! Knowing how to defend yourself can be extremely useful. You may not even have to use it, but just the cool head and good judgement you can have at a situation, along with knowing a bit of the good ol' one two, that can make a real difference.
This really inspired me to try Krav Maga one day. I have been practicing Karate for almost 10 years now and I believe that Krav Maga would be a great addition to my arsenal!
I started krav maga 2 months ago and I looove it. Before I was extremely stressed out but now I feel so good and selfconfident! Sorelle you are amazing and strong! KIDA!
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, THIS VIDEO HAS INSPIRED ME SO MUCH, I live in a pleace that is courrently in a really bad situation and we are (as womens and childrens) in constant fear of being assaults on the streets, it makes me so sad to admit that but sadly is reality and I've decided to get in to self defense training now, thank you so much for showing such a cool and relieving experience, i love your content A LOT, thanks 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
You need to practice and practice solo everyday. Remember your moves, 360degree defense and all other moves else you will forget and ur muscle memory will leave u. So practice everyday and remember every move. And Please don't forget to SEARCH AND SCAN Everytime in house and off course on road. Fight with everything and leave the place as soon as your threat is neutralize..don't wait there.. Breathe n breathe..
@5:52 Don’t forget to put your defensive fence up and maintain distance. Don’t let him get to within striking or grabbing range, and keep your guard (hands) up. Krav Maga Pre-Fight Tactics 101. Everything else including the escape: nicely done. Keep it up you’re doing great.
I have been wanting to find a way of training to protect myself and yes karate is not practical at all. I love you and your knowledge. Thank you for doing this and sharing this with us.
Anhstein Krav maga is less practical in that case youre training for the perfect scenario you should train brazilian jujitzu and mma instead you will get way way further
It's very practical if you didnt attend a mcdojo. Cleary you haven't heard of the karate hottie in UFC or Belator. While I don't do karate, I use a lot of its concepts. It's not the martial art, it's the artist themselves.
You really can't understand how grateful I am that I run into you on the internet. You inspired me in so many ways... self confidence, solo traveling, minimalism, and now with this kind of self difense. I did Boxe for some time for your same reason, but I can't wait to try this other self difense art. THANK YOU, FOR EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE FOR ME.
I started Krav Maga a year ago when I was thirteen. As a young girl, it's a very useful skill to know and I absolutely love it. Not only are my instructors amazing, but the training was fun, kept me in shape and inproved my mental health. The amazing thing is that Krav Maga is also available for toddlers where I live and they can start very early on to learn the techniques. Krav Maga is not limited by height, strength, gender or age and I think that makes it amazing.
Great vid!! This only intensities my desire to get back into martial arts. I've never been athletic but I loved it! I took two years of Taekwondo, went to class three or four times a week for one-two hours in the evening. I got up to red belt but had to stop for various reasons. It's been five years since then and I think about it almost everyday. I agree that basic self-defense should be mandatory in schools and maybe even offered as electives in college. It's not just for getting in shape, but it's helped my mind get in shape too, if that makes any sense. I'll never forget the advice of my Grand Master when trying to kick or punch through boards, "Don't go to it, go through it.' He would then say to visual a point beyond the board where I wanted my fist or foot to go. I think this is a great way to look at life in general and also great advice about following the passions and dreams of our hearts. Anywho, I really enjoyed this vid. P.S. My butt got real toned, too. It was the best part of training in Taekwondo. :D
I legit freaked out when I saw that you uploaded this 😮 because I've actually been learning Krav Maga for the past 4 months now, and I'm about to go grade for the first time at the end of this month. You are a real inspiration for a lot of people, including myself. Keep the good content coming 👍🏼
Hey guys!! 😊 i just wanted some advice and ideas from all of you! I personally don’t have the money to take these kind of classes (and i‘m guessing i’m not the only one) but i see so many terrible things happen to people i love all around me and i gotta admit this world is a scary place if you don’t know how to defend yourself... 😔 I would like to learn some self defence techniques and i was wondering if there’s any good RU-vid channel that could help me without being so pricey 😕?
This makes my heart so warm! I've been following you for awhile now and seeing you create a video on my practice makes me so full! I've been doing Krav for 1.5yr so far, and in two weeks I'll be getting my certification to teach! Thank you for sharing this self defense with the world and using your platform to spread its knowledge!
I have been victimized more than once, and I swear...never again! So, besides being locked and loaded at all times, I always brush up on watching these kind of videos, to keep me as keen as possible. Lil hugs xo
There are some places that have free classes for the summers and such - most often for women & girls but there may be others as well! Try to keep an eye out and maybe you'll get lucky!
I started out Krav Maga by going to a class like that! Now that those free classes are over for me I'll still continue though, it was really really fun and helpful!
Great vid! Krav is such a great all-around system. My girlfriend was a model and traveled a bit. We both trained in Krav for several years. I was so comforted to know she had a solid foundation to protect herself. Great vid. You look fantastic. Good travels. Cheers!
I'm so happy to see this video! I actually just started Combat Hapkido because I started working in a prison. There is something so freeing about knowing how to defend yourself and not rely solely on that of passers-by.
It is amazing that you are using your platform to show self defense. As a martial artist myself, I think that it is very important for everyone to learn these moves and be able to defend themselves or they loved ones.
This video straight-up changed my life. I found it amid COVID, and it kicked off a journey that ended in Israel and writing a book about it all! : ) Thanks for everything you do!
Osu! Osu is a combination of the words: Oshi which means “Push”, and Shinobu which means “to Endure”. It means patience, determination, appreciation, respect and perseverance.
I loved watching your video. You lived a dream of mine. I would love to learn Krav on a daily basis but the classes here are so expensive. You being able to travel as well is my other dream. I only travel here in the states and I am working on a project that will help me get to travel the world. Can't wait to see more.
30 days or 3000 days of Krav Maga training, it will not save your arse in the real world ie when the assailment(s) is not playing along and most certainly not if they know how to fight.
Fascinating. I have a disability and in response to childhood bullying I used to fight all the time and it became a problem. I found martial arts at 13. It did more than keep me safe, it gave me the confidence to know that I didn't have to be a victim but also that I didn't always need to fight. I'm not sure an intense 30 day programme is right for everyone but this lady has seen the benefit. Listen to her.
Am going on my first back packing adventure, with a friend, for two weeks in September 2019. I am so glad I saw this video. Safety is so key and I would have no clue how to defend myself if needed. Have found a stay safe krav maga class in my area and will train myself up to be a kick ass defence machine! Thanks you Sorell 🙏
Loved this, great energy..left me feeling more positive & wanting to change my life.. I also loved that honest talk. Thankyou for sharing. Have a blessed & beautiful day..
I’m currently in taekwondo with previous jiujitsu experience and was looking into krav to add to my arsenal. I really like your video and believe everyone should take self defense classes no matter what age or neighborhood. Congratulations and good job!!!
Krav Maga teaches you how to get stabbed or cut in the real world. It's a confidence builder for Israeli soldiers that is taught for maybe a couple of weeks. You don't learn to fight in 2 weeks. Having done full contact athletics for a good portion of my youth I can promise you that you don't get good at fighting in 2 weeks, let alone 30 days. Krav Maga as well as some of the other disciplines are good for getting a work out and building self confidence. Those can be positive outcomes but please be realistic about fighting expectations. If you are unarmed and facing a mugger holding a knife just give him your cash and walk away without getting cut.
I don't know why but the video and especially the cage situation made me so emotional. I had tears in my eyes. So powerful to protect yourself with all the power from within. It's a kind of self love. Beautiful
You are impressive!! and motivational. I am a 6'2", 240 lb guy and I am starting my first class this evening. I really liked what you kept saying abut confidence. Physically, I was given it naturally but this is so I can earn it mentally. Best!
I know this was months ago, but this video was planted in my brain like a seed and I'm going to do this!!!! Thanks, Sorelle. I think this will build my confidence, which is what a need greatly.
